It is a 2013 Mustang GT convertible California special. It is about a $2,000 option.
You get some upgraded interior trim. You get some hood vents. 420 horsepower as opposed to the 412.
You get in your V8 5.0 liter coyote motor. It's just taking off. It's got a really stiff gearbox
for those really short throws. It's still got some 245-45-19s. It's got 331 gear ratios in the back
with limited slip to plant all that power. So we got 420 horsepower, 390 torque.
The 331 gear ratios with limited slip to plant all that power wrapped in some 245-45-19s.
They are fairly wide. You got all the gauges and stuff for the track setup. You can start
your own tree. You got your 0-60 time, your 0-100 time. It is a 6-speed manual.
Gear shifts are very short and stiff. Feels really good. You got that 5-liter sound with
that grumbly exhaust. We are just going to go on the highway here and get a little feel for the
power and give it a little bit of beans. That's all I got to say. I almost dropped the camera
when you shifted there. That's all I got to say. I was zooming right into the windshield.
The sound is just amazing. Dual climate control here. Heated seats so it does come fairly well
equipped. You got your leather California Special with some Alcantara backs inserts here. You do
have the shaker audio system so it's a little bit more punch for your audio. Right now I'm
averaging 13 liters per 100 kilometers for a 420 horsepower 5-liter Mustang. I'd say that's
pretty damn good. You can reset it, adjust it with all your gauges here. It does require premium
fuel recommended if you want to unleash all the 420 ponies that it has. It delivers about 80%
of its torque at 4,500 rpms. Sorry, 2,500 rpms. It delivers all of its torque at 4,500 rpms.
So being a Ford Focus ST owner, how would the 5-liter compare to your 2-liter EcoBoost?
I mean, I'll be honest, I just detuned it for the wintertime just to get me a little bit of
a better fuel economy. I'd say that going from the front wheel drive to the rear wheel drive
definitely changes your driving ability. It keeps you on the edge of your seat with that raw power
sent to the rear wheels. If you're not very experienced in the driving with rear wheel
drive and that much power, I do suggest you leave the traction control and stability control on.
I mean, the Ford Focus ST is great. I enjoy it. I haven't gotten out of it yet. I didn't really
know what it was when I bought it until I researched it and was like, okay, this is a
sleeper. I do have a variety of engine parts and tunes for it, so it is a little sleeper.
But compared to the Mustang, I mean, for what it is and how much it is straight out of the gates,
for what the power you're getting, it's very cheap. I mean, guys are eating up these cars
because they're so cheap for so much power. If you're looking for a daily driver, it's perfect.
If you're looking for a weekend cruiser, it's perfect. Or you're a car enthusiast that likes
to collect and just go to car shows. They're both perfect cars. The Mustang has been living
on for the longest time. I'm kind of happy they brought back the ST and the turbo chart
hatchback game. They really needed to step it up. But I must say for both cars and the price
they are for the power they deliver and the driving exhilarations that you get from both
cars, it pulls me away. So thank you very much for watching another video. Hit that subscribe
