Hi guys, my name is Megan, welcome to my channel. Today I'm going to teach you how to make some
pregnancy belly balm. During pregnancy, your skin expands a lot especially on areas like your belly
and your breasts and different things like that. They expand really fast and so your skin
can stretch and get really dry and irritated and so I love using this belly balm during pregnancy
to kind of relieve some of that itchiness and like stretched out skin feeling. This isn't to
prevent stretch marks because I think stretch marks are just genetic. You're gonna get them
or you're not and there's not a ton you can do to prevent it so I don't take this for that purpose
but it does really help relieve just the discomfort of your skin stretching so fast.
So hopefully this is helpful for you guys as well and let's get right into the recipe.
So you only need a few simple ingredients for this. It's a really easy recipe to remember.
First you'll need coconut oil, shea butter, vitamin e oil and some essential oils. Today I'm going to
use wild orange and lavender but you can pick just any pregnancy safe essential oils that sound good
to you. There's a lot of options and variation when it comes to that. So for this recipe, you'll need
a double boiler to melt your oils in and I don't have a double boiler per se but I just use a
smaller pot that rests inside of a larger pot that has water in it so that the water underneath can
slowly heat the oils that are in this smaller one. It'll also work really well if you have like a
glass bowl that fits inside of a pot or something like that. You don't have to have a fancy double
boiler, just things around your kitchen will work for this. So you're going to take half a cup of
your coconut oil and my coconut oil is actually already melted right now because where I store it
in my kitchen is like a heat pocket or something so it's already melted. Normally this would be
solid white. Half a cup of shea butter and you're just going to take that pot over to your stove,
set it on top of your double boiler, turn the heat on to medium and just wait for them to melt.
Then once all the oils are melted and all liquid, you're going to take it off the burner and then
add two tablespoons of vitamin e oil and then you want your essential oils to equal around 20 drops
or so. I did 15 drops of lavender and five drops of wild orange and then I just put it in a half
pint mason jar with the lid and it's all done. This will harden and solidify back up and become
kind of a creamy color after it's cooled off and then you just apply it to anywhere on your body
that needs some moisturizing, that's feeling a little stretched out for pregnancy and that's it.
That's just a really simple recipe. It's super effective and super nourishing for your skin.
You're going to get the benefits from the essential oils. I just absolutely love this recipe and I'm
so excited to have a fresh batch ready to use. So I hope this video was helpful. Thank you for
watching and I will see you in my next one. Bye!
