You can smoke the Chatterbait dude.
Let's weigh him.
So this lake is famous.
Pretty much for putting out 20 pound bags.
I'm going to tell you right now.
I would take 5 of these suckers a day.
And be ecstatic.
Chill, chill, chill, chill.
370. So that's like a 311.
That's a good one.
Nice one.
Let's see what he weighs.
My guess is going to be like a 280.
275.
That's a 212.
God dog.
I don't think he's but about 3 pounds.
But this sucker is digging man.
Right up there on the edge of this little
cluster of big
boulders I found.
Just drifting down through there.
I was actually barely dragging it.
As soon as I got to the very far edge of it.
As soon as I touched the rock pretty much.
Let me grab him.
He's not even 3 pounds.
This right here is a giant.
It's just been a minute.
Probably been like 3 or 4 minutes.
He ain't that big but I thought he was.
Dig him up there in that freaking crystal clear water.
I can see him.
I thought we had us a dang big one.
337. Dang nice one.
I'll eat that sucker tomorrow.
I think there's a lot here.
Yes dude. I think we found a little bit of something.
So day 4 practice
obviously was the best day that I've had as far as weight goes.
So I decided to go put in
at what's it called?
Showmont Bay.
Whatever it's called like that.
Started off fishing the Whopper Plopper and Chatterbait
and stuff like that on some shallow flats.
And got a lot of really nice bites.
Really really quickly.
So we had certain conditions where the wind was blowing into the flats.
Really kind of turns that water up a little bit.
Breaks it up so they would eat more of the reaction bait
type of stuff.
So after that I went way back
in that little backwater river part
that had current and ended up catching
one almost 3 pounds.
Shook off a couple small ones and then shook off
one close to 2.5 or 3 pounder.
So that was a pretty productive practice day.
My best one by far, my best 5 for that day
was probably somewhere around 16 pounds.
Went out there on the lake and that
place that I was drifting over where I caught a 2.5 pounder
and then a 3.25 pounder
back to back cast. That's actually an isolated
patch of boulders that I found out there
in this huge sand flat on the middle of Lake Ontario.
So by far my most productive
practice day. Looks like we've got a little bit of stuff
rolling for the tournament now. We can just get them all in the boat
and get lucky and get a couple big bites.
We'll do pretty well in the tournament. So that's how it was
looking after day 4 of practice.
Definitely helped morale
after getting some decent bites
finally after 4 days on that lake.
