NEW ZEALAND \\ HOBBITS, HOTMUD & HAUNTED HOTELS // VLOG #50

We're in New Zealand! Woohoo! And we're driving. Uh oh. We're gonna do a self-drive option around New Zealand and we're picking up a friend you'll recognize from some of our earlier vlogs here shortly. You may be surprised to see I actually have on a new shirt. That probably doesn't seem like a big deal but I haven't had on a new shirt in two years. It's like 80% off so I got a new shirt. Yay! We're in Auckland. It's gonna be fun. And we gotta get out of this city So that is it. We're gonna go try and get to the hotel without crashing. On our way to Rotorua we are stopping at the Kaimai Cheese Company. Oh look it's Rhiannon. Hi! We're gonna make her sing a song about us. And cheese. And cheese. Okay we'll have baked camembert and an omelette for breakfast. We almost always get go ducks but these guys aren't gonna give us a go ducks because we got that. What are the chance of being folks from Corvallis, Oregon wandering around aimlessly through New Zealand like us? Yeah. We are recognizing one of Kate's all-time dreams. We found a giant maze here near Rotorua, New Zealand. So we're gonna go get lost in the giant maze. The true spirit of the maze. We are all going in different directions. Nice. But there's only two directions to start so we'll break up as we go. That's good. See you in the And it begins. I'll admit this thing's pretty cool. I caught these two colluding and cheating. Number three. I'm not worthy. Well done. That was fun. Do you get to pick whether we go back out through the maze or go through the cheat doors to get out? There we go. Rating for the Amaze Me Hedge Maze. It was so much more fun than it looked like it was going to be. That was awesome. That was fun. Off to something else. Yep. We're in Kiro. Probably saying that wrong part. It is so gorgeous. It's just geothermal pools and mud pools everywhere. This is awesome. Sulphur Point at Lake Rotorua. We're in the redwoods. In 1901 they planted redwoods here in New Zealand. And while they're not nearly as big as the thousand-year-old wonders in northern California, they are beautiful and pretty awesome. So we are hiking through the redwoods. These are so babyish. Top yours are full of it. So these may be baby redwoods but they are still pretty gorgeous. And just think we were going to spend today wandering around inside the city of definitely made the right choice. So this one time walking in the woods in New Zealand we found this. Worth a lookout. That's Blue Lake. That's Green Lake. And that's all I know about that. Good morning and welcome to Lake Rotoiti outside of Rotorua, New Zealand. We're just driving around in the hills exploring. Pretty much without a plan. Just called my friend Noah and told him we were here. He said that's nerd-rific. We're at the Hobbit movie set. So we're going to go see Hobbiton. It was their idea. Now we're going into the Green Dragon Inn. I am excited. Are you excited? I'm excited. The famous Green Dragon Inn. What'd y'all think? Oh, I loved it. Great. Definitely. We had an amazing day touring the Shire. For tomorrow we're going to the Glow Worm Caves in Waitomo. We are staying at this historic hotel, the Waitomo Caves Hotel.
