Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel. If you're new around here my name is Emma
and I'm documenting my first ever allotment plot but today I'm actually in my house because
it's time to put on my poor dying tomato plants. They are looking dead basically,
they are going yellow, some of them are drooping everywhere and they're just not looking very happy.
Now I did order some compost online but unfortunately it's not arriving so what
I've had to do is I had to gather a load of dirt from my beds and this is actual proper compost
but it has been sort of in the ground so I don't know if it's going to have weeds in it now and
stuff but this is all I could get my hands on guys so I'm working with what I've got.
Now I don't know what variety these are anymore because I've muddled them all up and also I'm
more like focusing on trying to keep them alive than anything else so some of them look better
than others. The pots that I've got, I've got these ones again I found these in the back garden
in our new house so they are a little bit rickety. I'm just working with what I've got at the moment
because obviously nothing much is being delivered. I have got these smaller pots but when I was
looking at these I just think it's just not big enough whereas if I put them in this one
I think it's just bigger. Right okay you're balanced very precariously on like a tube thing
it's hard to explain. Right okay I think the best the best thing to do is to pot up the ones that
look more alive. Now a lot of people were saying that these things that I've basically planted
them in are not very good for allowing roots to come out so I'm wondering if I should just
pull them out of it. I think I'm gonna cut it. Where's the bloody scissors? Oh god why am I not
prepared? Has anybody seen the scissors? Right oh I found the blading scissors. Right right where was
I? Oh yes right we're gonna start with the best ones. How many pots have I got? One two three
oh I've only got six. Right okay we're gonna have to choose the six strongest ones and the rest are
gonna have to die. Shut up. Right okay so compost first and we'll put that in like that okay
okay and then
right so I'll get on with repotting the rest of these and I will see you later at the plot.
Well I'll see you like now. Plot.
Right guys so we're at the plot now and this has happened again.
Fuck's sakes. I don't know why this keeps happening. I keep weighing it down with rocks and it doesn't seem to
bloody do anything. I'm not sure why those plants keep falling over. It's so annoying. I've weighed
them down with like a million rocks now. I don't know. I don't know what else I can do to be honest.
I'll just have to keep coming and keep putting them back up the right way again to be honest.
Bloody things. Maybe they'll get heavier the bigger they get or something.
Hi guys I want to show you my cucumber thing that I made. I made a cucumber thing yesterday.
This is for the cucumbers to hopefully climb up. Here it is. It sort of looks like a bit of like a
mini climbing frame for squirrels or something. It's basically this old frame that I've got. Yeah
yeah frame with this wire put on it and I've sort of like sewed it down it which looks quite pretty
actually and then I'm going to have to dig the bed out and that's what my hopefully my cucumbers
will go on that because it's not too steep and it's not too big. I don't know. I mean that's my
thoughts anyway but I'm going to dig this bed out next week when it cools down a bit. It's too hot
at the moment to dig out a whole bed I think so I might I'll leave that but that's going to be the
cucumber bed basically. That's what I did yesterday when I got here and um well something's been
digging in there. All right something's been digging in there. I've got a suspicion it's
the bloody cat now. I think it's the cat not the fox and in here oh there's just bindweed
bloody bindweed coming up everywhere. Oh for god's sakes. It just keeps coming up everywhere.
Oh god what's that? What the hell is that? Jesus Christ what is that? I'm just going to touch it
in case it's one of those horrible caterpillar things. Oh it's like a fluff thing. That can't be
alive can it? I don't know. Oh it's a plant. It's a plant. Yeah it looks like a caterpillar
but it's not it's a plant. Yeah it's just a plant. It's not that I'm scared of things like that it's
just the shock of finding it I think. It's like the shock of it. Maybe this is how um it just
shocks me. Right nothing's growing in here still. Yeah it's a little bit other than bindweed. Oh
god bloody bindweed. That's all that's growing in this bed at the moment. Bindweed bloody bindweed.
So those curly onions that I said about yes the other day I took them out yesterday and they're
like this. They're like all rotten and squidgy so I don't know what that means. I'm a little
bit worried about the others now but I don't know how I would know. So I don't know what that means
really. I don't know how I would know if the others are sort of contaminated as well. I don't
know. I'm not sure what Dave's doing over there. What are you doing? I'll go.
Right. Filming an interesting subject. I thought you're like making a dagger to stab me with later.
You're like making a spear.
Get the fox. I did a couple of things in my shed as well that I just wanted to share with you
that I didn't actually vlog me doing. I put this up. This is an old like hook thing. It used to
be in the kids room but it's not really strong enough to hold anything so when I made it I
realised I can't really hang anything on it like of substance so I've sort of put my twine on it
so I can sort of like pull it out and cut it but it just it does seem like it does kind of feel
like a bit of like an extravagance just for a bit of twine on the wall. Do you know what I mean?
I mean it looks really pretty and stuff but it does just seem like a bit of a waste of space
but I don't know I'll put that up and I also put some string up and I don't know if this is even
worth showing to be honest but yeah I put I put the string up here that's sort of like um
I stapled it and I'm gonna just get some pegs and peg things up like um like a glove on that
or maybe like um like like flowers and dry flowers on it or like onions.
I've seen people hang stuff up in their shed so I thought oh I need something to hang stuff
up on my shed but I don't know why they do it but now I've got a hanger thing so
okay I've got these things like this. We're going to film right now. Yeah this is what I thought
attach that to there like that and then attach that I'm sorry to like the shed.
And then one would be better I've got quite long screws you could have that but I think put it in
the corner there and have you support things but if I drill on the other side with my long screws
I can get all the way through if I drill on the outside through there I can get all the way through
as well. But then you'll need a bit of securing here wouldn't you? You can still do that you can
still do that. No I mean these aren't even very meant for these I can probably just bend this
They're not meant for that no but well no but don't because then the shelf will fall down.
Oh I don't know I don't know. For a while I thought it was quite good but apparently it's not.
Oh there's always another way isn't there there's always another way.
Yeah perfect. Yeah all right okay yeah go for it. We'll need a bit more security anyway.
Yeah yeah keep going keep going keep going. Stroke of genius but okay I'll push on it this time.
Okay oh god. Is it fairly straight? Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I don't know.
Yeah it's going in towards my nose right near the top no no abort abort take it out.
It's too near the top of the wood it's cracking.
All right you've got some underneath it but you say it's not going to be too heavy.
I think it'll be fine and now underneath it might be quite good as well actually it's sort of wedged
Yeah it's sort of like an accident and it's turned out all right like most of my stuff on the plot.
Casual DIY with Emma and Dave. It's not even straight it'll roll. It's not even straight
but it doesn't matter because it's casual it's casual DIY. Some seeds to sow today. Oh guys be
nice come on. I've got some more zinnias and lettuce. Let's go sow some zinnias and lettuce.
Okay so thin lean rows 25 centimetres.
They're weird aren't they?
So thin lean rows. So that's a row, that's a row.
Oh f***ing hell I've done that completely f***ing wrong.
Yeah?
Completely buzzed it up. Totally buzzed it up. No way that's gonna grow.
Had a bit of a lapse in concentration with the lettuce so I've made some
rows this time so hopefully the zinnias, hopefully the zinnias will actually go into rows.
That is the idea. So let's bung those in.
Guys I hope you enjoyed watching my vlog today. If you did subscribe to my channel
and leave me a comment, give me a thumbs up, let me know what I should be doing at my plot
and I will see you in my next video. So I'm looking over there because a bird has just come
down. I'm just wondering if it's a bird that's dug in my tomato bed or not. I don't know.
We will find out in due course I think. But anyway see you next time, stay safe, bye.
