An hour and a half away from Shinjuku. Let's go to Isawa Onsen.
Samurai Junjiro channel. Hi, I'm Akane Maru, born and raised in Japan. Today we are going to a
sightseeing spot that's popular among Japanese people, Isawa Onsen. Isawa Onsen is easily
accessible because it only takes an hour and a half by train from Shinjuku. We are gonna stay
in a special room with an open-air hot spring. We're also gonna have a luxurious all-you-can-eat.
Now let's get started. We'll start from Shinjuku station. We are taking Chuo Hansen,
which takes us to the Yamanashi area from Tokyo. Here, this is the express train we are taking
today. It's called Kaiji and it goes back and forth from Tokyo to Yamanashi 12 times a day.
All right, let's get on the train. The train has two seats on both sides and all seats are
reserved seats. It takes an hour and a half to our destination, Isawa Onsen station. Let's eat
ekiben bento box we bought at Shinjuku station. This ekiben is from Torisen, a chicken specialty
restaurant. So many kinds of dishes, how luxurious. It is filling and satisfies our stomach.
This is tsukune, which is minced chicken wrapping an egg. They use brand chicken called Nagoya Kochen.
The egg yolk is half boiled and it's creamy. This is fried chicken. They marinate the chicken
in rice malt, which makes it juicy. There's a meatball too. Salty sweet sauce coats the meatball.
Yum. The rice is Torimeshi, rice cooked with chicken and burdock. The nice flavor of chicken
is soaked in the rice. It has a mild flavor with a taste of soy sauce. Let's have this one next.
This ekiben is from Sushiya no Hanare at Shinjuku station. It's a sushi and seafood rice bowl
specialty restaurant and it's very popular. Let's put some soy sauce on and eat. There's lots of
tuna, negitoro, yellowtail and salmon roe. Very luxurious. So many kinds of seafood flavors spread
in my mouth. Negitoro, minced tuna has nice fat. The flavor of tuna is thick and it's creamy.
The rice is seasoned with soy sauce and sesame. It matches very well with the seafood.
It's so luxurious that I can't believe we are having this on a train.
I'm so full and I'm getting sleepy. Wow, I woke up and the view has completely changed.
I fell asleep after I had bento and we had already arrived. This is Isawa Onsen station,
an hour and a half away from Shinjuku station. It's a popular sightseeing spot where 3.5 million
people visit every year since it's easily accessible from Tokyo. There are many hotels
around the station. Among all of them, we chose this hotel that's especially popular.
We are picked up by a car that the hotel provides. After five minutes, we are here.
This is the hotel we are staying today, Hotel Fuji. It was opened in 1966
and is a hotel with a long history. Well, let's go inside. After you pass the hotel lobby,
you will see a pool in the courtyard. It will light up at night. Can't wait to see it.
You can play darts in the room by the pool. Look, we got welcome drinks for free before we
go to our room. We chose iced coffee and 100% grape juice. With a fancy pool right in front of
you, the drinks taste more delicious. Okay, let's go to our room. The chandelier on the aisle is
so luxurious. There are 115 rooms in this hotel and we are staying in one of the six special rooms.
This is it. There's a fireplace and it looks so special. Let's go inside.
Behind this door, there's the main room. Wow, such a spacious room with a nice smell of tatami.
This is enough space for two people. This Japanese style interior makes me so relaxed.
No wonder this room is special. There are separate rooms for the bath and toilet.
Open this door and you'll see the bathroom. There are two bathroom sinks, so convenient.
Many kinds of amenities too. By the way, this hotel has two large public baths,
but this special room has an open air bath attached. Look at this open space, so relaxing.
This bathtub is made from shigaraki yaki and it's so luxurious. It's all special in this special
room. We also got to see the bath in another special room. This bath smells nice of cedar woods.
Okay, let's get changed into yukata. After we change into yukata, let's make tea.
Put some tea leaves in the pot and pour some hot water. You wait for one minute and it gets
more delicious. We'll have this snack that goes with the tea. This is called awase yaki and it's
anko and rice cake wrapped with a baked dough of wheat and sugar mixed. So sweet and delicious.
There's welcome fruits as well. So colorful and beautiful. Look at the apple, it looks like a
rabbit. How cute. Now let's head to the dinner venue. We chose this all-you-can-eat for dinner,
which is most popular in this hotel. I've been to many hotels all-you-can-eat,
but this one is especially luxurious. They would grill the steak right in front of you.
Let's put onion sauce. The dessert area is so pretty. There are many kinds, like fruits and
I can't choose which one to eat. We took so much, like seafood and meat.
This restaurant is irresistible for Japanese food lovers. We are full. Let's go see the
The light is reflected in the pool and it's a special atmosphere.
Okay, we are so full. So let's get some sleep and get ready for the all-you-can-eat breakfast.
Good morning. Breakfast is served in the same venue as dinner. Breakfast is also mainly Japanese
food and there are so many kinds of dishes. The rice in the iron pot looks so delicious.
We took so many kinds of dishes. So luxurious for morning. This is onsen tamago.
It's a half-boiled egg with sauce of dashi and soy sauce mixed. The salmon has nice fat.
The salty flavor is just right. This is a bread with cream croquette between. This is so filling.
And this one has lots of spaghetti seasoned with ketchup between. This is so fun. We got
to have many kinds of dishes. At last, let's have French toast. The sweetness of the maple syrup
is awesome. It was such a luxurious hotel. We got to relax so much. If there's any restaurant you'd
like us to introduce, let us know in the comments. Please give us the thumbs up and subscribe to our
