Samurai Junjiro Channel
Hi, I'm Samurai Junjiro
Born and raised in Japan
In today's video we'll introduce you to Tokyo Tower
There will also be street food strolling around prominent area that surrounds the tower
There will be guides on souvenirs and food that can only be purchased here. So stay with us to find out more
Now, let's get started
We are here in Azabu-Juban station
Before we head straight to the tower. We'll first wander about in two areas for street food
The first one being Azabu-Juban shopping street, which is in 10 minutes walking proximity from the tower
This distinguished shopping street has more than 300 years of business history
Let's first check out this store, Tsukishimaya
The store sells Imagawayaki and began their business in
1951
The store is very well approved within the area too. Let's try steaming hot Imagawayaki
As an additional note
Imagawayaki is a Japanese traditional dessert made of soft flour buns with sweet fillings like sweet red bean paste and
custard cream
The outside has crispy feel with fluffy inside
We picked custard cream this time
The flavor of the egg is so strong and it tastes very rich
It goes perfectly with the chewy bun
We'll next be picking up the cheesecake store in Azabu called Sank Sank
Many acknowledges this store as the store is regularly featured on TV and magazines
There's different kind of cheesecakes, but we had to get the most purchased one and that is this cheese souffle
It uses abandoned French cheese as its ingredient
The aroma of cheese is mouth-watering
The souffle itself is very moist and airy
The rich flavor of the cheese instantly spreads once you take a bite
It feels so light that I could have this more
Let's wrap up and move to the next area
Now on to checking out three stores near Daimon Station
Daimon Station is in the 10-minute walking distance from the Tokyo Tower
One of the highlight tourist spots around the area is definitely
Dojoji
This historical Buddhist temple was built in
1393
To start off the tour in Daimon area the first store to introduce is this store right here
It's Kobe-gyu Daiya Shiba Daimon store
The store just started last year and serves Kobe beef
Inside has very luxury vibes with counter seats. You can watch in front of you how the food are being prepared
Let's try Kobe beef sushi to start off
On top of softly grilled beef sweet sauce is poured over
Lean meat has moderate chewiness and the flavor of the meat itself is very powerful
Marbled meat melts in your mouth
This surely are fancy sushi that enables you to really explore sweetness from the beef
The must-have at the store is a beef bowl, which has two different Kobe beef on rice
It's ordered frequently for its reasonable price though. It has brown beef on top
Beef that has been simmered with soy sauce and sugar. It's sweet and melty
The sauce is really soaking into rice and I love it
Lightly grilled beef is moist and I could eat this without any bite
Let's take a bite of rice with egg yolk coating
By adding the egg the meat is creamier and this sure is a rice thief
What an amazing beef bowl
Now on to showing you Gindako Haibou Sakaba
This is an izakaya restaurant run by Japan's number one takoyaki chain store Gindako
Here you get to satisfy freshly prepared takoyaki craving with drinks
We'll show you a menu that can only be ordered in limited stores
And it's this sauce yakisoba noodles
It's served piping hot
Since the kitchen prepares once they receive an order
The smell of dried seaweed laver
Surround the air
It cooks with simple ingredients like bean sprouts cabbage and pork slices
Each of the ingredients are cut in large pieces. So the volume is subtle
Noodles are looking thick
This chewy texture is very addictive
The sauce is rich yet with fruity touch
Highly recommend you to try with red pickled ginger, too
The ginger adds the fresh crunchy texture and it tastes even better
Where we are headed next is called Naruto Taiyaki Honpo
Taiyaki a fish-shaped dessert is the store's specialty with over 50 other stores around Japan
Each taiyaki is prepared neatly using the fish mold
There are three flavors to choose from and I picked out this one for today
The flour made out of this store's taiyaki is very thin
So you really get to enjoy the crispiness
It comes with sweet potato cream filling packed inside. I love this natural sweetness of the sweet potato
You see red sweet bean paste and custard cream as regular fillings
But you don't really find the sweet potato. So I highly advise you should try
Now to heading over to Tokyo Tower
It'll be a nice 10-minute stroll through the Dojoji temple and here we are. This is Tokyo Tower
this
1958 built broadcasting tower has a height of
1092 feet
The area above the observatory is made out of military tents which were used in real battles
Just a quick note that it'll cost you extra to be up in the observatory
You get to take a panorama view of Tokyo from the observatory
Night is the best time for checking out the tower
It lights up in warm orange color and the view is magnificent
Then let's go inside the tower
The third floor building underneath the tower has numerous shops
There are limited goods that can only be purchased here
The shops handle good lineups of souvenirs that represent Tokyo too. So you really can't go wrong here
For today, we selected two tower limited goods. The first one being this snack
It comes in this cute box with illustration of the tower
It has cookies inside
The cookies have the tower imprinted on the top and it's very adorable
It tastes sweet with egg and butter
It comes with chocolate filling inside
Hazelnuts are also included for its nutty mouthfeel
And the other one is this dessert with another tower picture imprint
It comes with four pieces of Castella sponge cakes
The surface of the cakes have words and icons of the tower branded which are very sweet
From the airy dough of the cake, you can really taste the sweetness of egg and milk
It comes with custard cream filling. It tastes sweet and puts me in a good mood
And why don't we check out some of the restaurants inside the tower
The one very near to the entrance is Marion Crepe
It's a crepe stand very well-known in Japan
The head stand of the Marion Crepe is located in one of the busiest tourist spots of Tokyo
Takeshita Dori Street in Harajuku
It's a nice encounter to have the crepe from one of the most famous crepe stands in Japan
Mother Bokujo Cafe stands in third floor
This is a cafe run by a farm in Chiba Prefecture, a neighbor of Tokyo
You get to try various flavors of ice cream in here and we are getting the number one seller ice cream
It's a simple milk flavored ice cream
The main ingredient is of course the fresh milk from the farm in Chiba
The flavor of the milk is so subtle
It's refreshing but with sweetness too. You really get the taste of what truly milk tastes like
The last one we are going to unveil is at the second floor food court
You find five stores within this food court
We'd like to check Moss Burger for today
Here we had a burger that can only be eaten at this store
To those of you who are not familiar with Moss Burger
It's a Japan oriented burger chain with more than 1,200 stores around the country
The price is relatively higher than that of McDonald's but many adores their authentic burgers
Now, let's try their limited burger
A burger was made with the height of the tower in mind
It comes with two layers of patties and the fillings are so rich
On top of the patty is flowing meat sauce with slight chili kick. That spiciness is on point
I love the crispiness you get from the onion ring, too
It's so juicy with pastrami bacon slices
Do give it a shot when you come to visit the tower
If there's a restaurant you'd like me to introduce, let me know in the comments
