It takes about 40 minutes to get here from Tokyo station by train
Let's head for our destination this time then
It takes about five minutes by foot from Daishimae station

This is the Nishiarai Daishi we'll introduce this time
Nishiarai Daishi is a temple established more than 1,200 years ago with a rich history
It's crowded with many visitors every day and about
500,000 people come to pray just during the first three days of the new year
This place is recommended for people who like Japanese retro atmospheres like Kyoto and Asakusa

The temple holds a total five-day festival on the 1st, 8th, 11th, 21st and 28th of every month

The place is crowded from 9 a.m. To 4 p.m.
including weekend
Now let's start walking and eating

Large slices of mochi are deep fried and topped with soy sauce based sauce
With mayonnaise and chopped seaweed deep fried mochi is ready to be eaten
It has a nice smell of dried bonito flakes and seaweed
It is constantly being cooked so it's always freshly made and hot
The soy sauce based sauce is a little sweet
The outside is crispy but the inside still has the chewy texture of mochi
