Here is our flowergarden in mid July this year. It is an old vegetable garden where I used to sow flowers also. I do very little weeding and althoght our chickens roam here - flowers just keep coming. Here I share some tips that make gardening easy and light.
Sweet morning blue.
Sweet, sweet flowers spreading your life and love.
Sweet, sweet, sweet flowers spreading beautiful love.
I love you.
Beautiful rose, I love you for being here.
Thank you for the beautiful hollyhocks.
Beautiful, beautiful heart.
Thank you for being here.
Spreading your love.
Spreading your life.
Thank you for being here.
Beautiful moulin.
You who are so loved.
Loved by the bees.
Sweet honey bees.
They love you.
Dear moulin.
And we love you.
We love you.
Hi my gorgeous friends.
This little flower video this morning.
I just want to show you that this garden is really not...
I have not spent much time at all.
And we've actually let out our chickens for the first time.
And our hens and rooster.
Who have been ever since early spring.
They've been in the garden just scraping around as chickens do.
And it's a wonderful experiment.
This is an old vegetable garden.
It's been here for 25 years or so.
Maybe 20 years.
And now we've had flowers here.
We've sowed flowers here.
But now I'm just letting the flowers come that come out of the ground.
And all I do in the springtime is I just take most of the weeds.
I just more or less cut them down or just shred them down.
And as you saw this spring...
I'll just go for a little walk.
And this spring there were lupins.
And now all the lupins have gone more or less.
They're not flowering anymore.
And all these mulane I think they're called.
These yellow ones are coming.
And they just come.
Just like the lupins do.
And so what I did...
It's not a big gardening program this.
I just wanted to show you that if you've started off with bare ground.
And you have sowed flowers.
You will get flowers every year.
You just have to notice them in the springtime.
These I sowed this spring.
And they're a little bit hard too.
The calendula will come.
But these cosmea.
They do come back every year.
But they're a bit frost intolerant.
And also the sweet pea.
You have to sow them again.
But these for instance.
These blue ones.
Which the bees love also.
They just come.
So it's a matter of noticing them.
Also these sweet william.
They will keep coming.
And you notice them in the springtime with this plant coming.
And if you just more or less shred away.
Or just roughly cut away the weeds around it.
They will come really well.
Also the daisy is a beautiful flower that just keeps coming.
It's all finished now more or less.
But it will come back.
It flowers twice.
And what I did was.
There's another one here we call cattail.
Which actually can become a really bad weed.
And that will come back every year.
It's about to flower.
Now the bees love it.
You just have to watch it.
Because it can really take over.
It's over here.
It's just coming up everywhere.
But you can just cut it back also.
Here we have the gorgeous sweet pea.
I just love them.
Look at them.
Beautiful.
And some plants are perennials.
I'll just tell you what I did was.
All the lupins I just trod down.
And there is some here that have not been trod down.
So when they were just about finished.
This is a wildflower.
Oh no wait a sec.
I think I maybe sowed this once.
And it will probably come every year.
So it's a matter of noticing them in the spring time.
And just protecting them.
And this blue one is I think a very bad weed in Australia.
Called Patterson's curse.
But we love it.
And the bees love it.
So I'll just show you.
This lupin has not been trodden down.
So all I did was.
I just took my foot and just trod it down like this.
And some I actually cut down.
That's my weeding for this year.
It's been about 10 minutes weeding.
Or maybe an hour altogether.
And these hollyhocks will come year after year.
And they are just not quite open yet this morning.
These white ones are just so gorgeous.
And this roseclare I showed you last year.
We use as a brim.
And it just covers the ground.
It's just wonderful and flowers twice.
And these I don't remember the English name.
I just love.
You can't use them in a vase.
And they have no scent.
But they are so powerful.
And they just come every year.
And they are really worth having.
So you just can't get rid of them.
They can be a bit frost intolerant in the springtime.
And what I did with these.
Because they get very tall.
The same plant.
I just trod this down.
You can see here.
It's near the house.
I don't want to have it too tall.
Because when I look out the window.
I want to be able to look into the garden.
Like this.
And so I just trod them down.
And they will just turn.
It's just really lazy gardening.
See.
I trod these down.
And they will turn.
Because they want to get up into the light.
So they will turn around.
Maybe I did it a little bit too late.
But if you do it a bit earlier.
The flowers will actually just come up anyway.
Just lower.
And here we have some perennials.
Here is the beautiful peppermint.
Which will come everywhere too.
Which you really have to control.
But that is gorgeous.
Because the flowers are gorgeous.
And you can make the teeth.
These are perennials I planted many years ago.
And of course they keep coming.
And have the most gorgeous scent.
I mean wow.
Take them inside.
Every morning.
Just praise the Lord.
There is the purple one.
They don't like the rain very much.
But wow.
It's so sweet.
And here I just go back.
I just take it from the back.
From the light.
The other way.
Where I was before.
And I mean.
If you are missing love in your life.
Having flowers.
It just soothes the heart.
They are so full of love.
Just in a different way than humans.
But it's just so pure.
Here we have our white hollyhock.
Wow.
So gorgeous.
Let me just finish off the video.
This was just a little bit of gardening tips for you.
Of course it depends on where you live.
So it was just a bit of a tip from me.
That you can actually have many many flowers.
With very very little work.
And even have your chickens in the garden.
So.
And the things I sowed.
Like the sweet.
The sweet pea.
I did actually protect with a little bit of fence.
Because I had the hens there.
So while they are just sprouting.
Just have a little bit of fence.
And take it off as soon as they are big enough.
So many animals and plants can live together.
And it can just all be so abundant.
With very little work.
So I love that.
See you soon my friends.
