Expert Tips for Beautiful Outdoor Planters with Artificial Flowers

Hello friends today's video is all about how to fill an outdoor planner with faux flowers so stay [Music] tuned now I am all about real flowers during the summer but I have a few spots especially my front door where it gets such hot sun or forget to water my flowers so I like to create some faux flowers in an arrangement in the planter let me tell you my first tip find yourself a plastic pot that will fit inside of your ear and the reason I want you to do that is is because what I like to do during the year I like to create a planter in the springtime I'm going to do this one which is going to have a July 4th theme then I like to do a planter for the B and of course then Christmas well if I create each floral arrangement in this plastic pot then I'm just dropping it in when I take it out I cover it with plastic and I store it in my garage and it makes life a whole lot easier so the first thing I need to do is use some green foam remember there's two different kinds there's one green foam that is for real flowers and one for foam make sure you get the one for faux flowers and I'm just going to set this inside of this plastic pot [Music] let me talk about the flowers I'm going to use in this Arrangement now when you're doing an arrangement if you stick with three elements it makes a beautiful arrangement and the first one is called the Thriller that's going to be your height of your floor arrangement and the one that stands out in the middle then you're going to have your filler that's the flowers you're going to fill around and then you're going to have what's called your Spiller that's going to be some of the flowers that kind of come off of the yarn so this top green branch is going to be my Thriller that's going to be my tall piece in my center and then for July 4th I got some blue flowers and some red hydranges that's going to be my filler and then the beautiful white that I'm going to actually once I put in the N kind of arch them out and this is going to be my Spiller [Music] now this is something you don't have to do but I really think it adds texture to the arrangement and that is to either use a grap vine wreath or this is a moss wreath that I found and set that on top of the ear and what I'm going to do is I'm going to take some pipe cleaner and attach it to my ear just so the wind doesn't blow it off [Music] we're going to start with the Thriller because the Thriller determines the height you want your floral to be now when you DET let's do that again okay we're going to start with a thriller because that's going to determine the height of your entire Arrangement just keep in mind how big your pot is and don't get too tall and don't get too squatty so let me show you how I'm going to add this one okay I'm going to put it straight down in the middle okay and that's it now I'm going to start with the filler and I'm going to use two different flowers as the filler but I'm going to keep one at a higher point on the floor and one a little bit lower so I'm going to start with these beautiful blue flowers and I'm just going to fill in around my middle Thriller [Music] now it's time to put in the Spiller these beautiful white flowers it's going to make this whole Arrangement pop if you guys do a lot of florals or plan to do a lot of florals I have had regular wire cutters and my hands aren't strong enough to cut a lot of these florals you guys always ask me about these these are my favorite Clippers I will leave a link um they're a little more expensive than you're going to pay for wire cutters but they cut through florals like butter they're worth it one tip about getting your flowers to kind of arch out of an arrangement don't go and just bend the flow like that no flow grows that way so what you want to do is when you're arching it you're kind of bending it just a little bit like that and that looks a whole lot more natural [Music] now I've added the white around as a Spiller but I'm going to use another white flower and put it at the top that just gives a lot more fullness to the top but it adds and brings that white from the bottom all the way up to the top so the next thing I want to do is I want to make a beautiful bow to put in with this Arrangement and I found some ribbon with a July 4th theme there's a lot online you guys look on Amazon look at the craft stores a lot of them carry all right now it's time to make that bow beautiful after you make your bow just take the rest of that pipe cleaner and wire it to either your planter or if you're using a grape vine wreath just wire it to [Music] that didn't this turn out absolutely beautiful I love it especially the bow I want to show you something else that you can do actually I just want to tell you about it so I follow John Mark I love him if you don't follow him go follow him he's amazing but one of the things he does a lot of florals and a lot of ribbon that is left outside and I recommend this type of an N with the faux flowers needs to be under a covered porch but if you're worried about rain or weather hitting it you want to buy a can of clear polyacrylic spray not polyurethane polyacrylic and you can spray
