Then there is this very knowledgeable and eager to offer bits of wisdom yet self imposed tour guidess here in, who's also has a meticulous pronounciation of the word Leobendorf.
We start of the trip up the hill to Burg Kreuzenstein in the mid afternoon and we won't begin our descent until it gets pitch dark
Living in Vienna spotlights life in Vienna. This is the right place for you if your are living in Vienna, or are from Vienna living in another city or country, or you are from out there on the globe and interested to see how life is in this part of the world. You could even be looking to move to Vienna and are curious about how it is like living in Vienna.
But the sun is shining. November 22nd, 23rd there. I don't know anymore, thank you lockdown.
But... Hi, what's up everybody? We are going to Buag Krausenstein. We are at the Libiodendorf.
That's the village of Libiodendorf. Liebendorf. In the village of Liebendorf. And we're going to walk
all the way up to the Buag Krausenstein. And we're taking you with us. So let's go.
Before we go, five degrees only. You might wonder why are we choosing to go to Buag Krausenstein
when it's so cold. I don't have an answer for that. It just happened that this is the time
So if you're walking to Buag Krausenstein and you find yourself in the green
greenhouse, know that you're lost. Walk back a few steps. This is the way we are going.
But before we get to go here, let's find out how do you get here from Vienna.
Wow, the view here is amazing. Oh, I don't know the view from the train is so good
of the castle. It's so hard to see it when you're driving on the road.
So here we are. We're gonna go that way. Let's go. It's always such a nice idea to get
away from the city just a few minutes and you're out here in the village. Such a cool
bus stop here in the village. You don't really have to cross. Okay, maybe you should cross from
the crossing road. Five degrees Celsius. Nothing seems to be going on here. Leopoldorf is such a beautiful
village but always so quiet. It's really always so quiet like nothing seems to be going on here.
In the summer it's probably a much better place in terms of activity but still
I think this is one of the villages that has absolutely the least of anything going on.
What in the world is this? Does anybody know what this is?
So what goes up here?
The wine? The fruits? No, of course the fruits are inside this thing here. Ah, the fruits go here.
So when you have a cover, you press. When you turn the wheel here, this part will go up
and this part will go down. Okay, okay, okay. So it presses the wine in that way. I think this is where
this is probably where you would turn it and these people knew there would be
people who want to turn it around so they've locked it.
Yeah, very interesting. A wine presser. Welcome to the land of wine. Land flowing with wine
and wine and beer as well.
Okay, the more you know. Let's keep going. So now that we know how to get here, let's go to
and we're starting from a really nice view of the castle. Let's go. Generally, the castle gives you
the first-hand feeling of the Middle Ages. It's like you go back in time. It doesn't matter how
old you are, you can still walk there. So if you want to walk up without adventure, here is the way.
But if you're looking for adventure, and by adventure I mean just more interesting way which
is not nature, trees and a little bit of unexpected view. You don't know what to find in the next
10 meters. Let's keep going. I wonder what are these? So Bua Krausenstein is located just a few
miles or a few kilometers from Vienna.
And actually Bua Krausenstein is one of the most beautiful castles you can see from Vienna.
And it's also one of the most popular tourist attractions for the entire family. You can come
here with your family. Yep, it's open daily from April to November. I mean we've only been walking
for two seconds and there's a place for us to sit and rest, take a rest. But that's not what we're
going to do. We're gonna keep walking. So let's go. Oh my gosh, there are chickens here. But I don't
think it's a good idea for me to go there with my shoes. Oh, chickens.
Yippee! Finished, Leife!
When you record this, record it in high speed shot. So that's it?
Yeah, and then you can go around like this. And then later you have a smooth sweep.
Yeah, in fact that's if I knew how to record it in high speed. I need to know what are the settings.
The sun is here.
I think we rejoined the road from here. It's actually a really good view. If we just walk
down this road, you know, it's a really beautiful view down this road. Yeah, let's go down before
this is the way to the Burg. Or maybe this is the way. This looks like a more interesting way
to go. Yeah, so before we go here, let's try and see the view from this point. I promise you,
it's really one of the best unobstructed views. Yeah, this way. We're gonna come back here in a
moment. Look at the sun. Hello, hello. Beautiful. So I think we really have to go to walk down this
road to be able to get to a point where we have this beautiful view. Yeah, because you see here,
we cannot see it. I can't believe how warm I feel. But the sun is shining. So I think on that
and you can see, what is this village close to Neuburg? Do you think? No.
So where do you want to go now? I'm asking you. We just walked down. I'm not sure if it's
on this route or it's that way. We're really sure where it is we go and we're coming down.
Yeah, let's go down here. This is where we kind of are going to see such a beautiful view
from the plains. Well, we're going into this village. Yeah, it's here. It's here really,
I promise you. Yeah, I hope it is this path. Do you think this is one of those Ferrain
things? Because of the post box. Yeah, actually that probably is the gate to
the Ferrain. Ah yeah, this would be the Ferrain. And of course, the post box is here. Protected
nicely. What's that? What's this little... In Kenya, this would be where the guards will sit
to make sure they are letting in the right people into the... But of course, I don't think here...
Yes, hello.
Whoever you are. Ah, actually not. If you are such a kind,
nice-looking person with a nice, kind-looking face like you, they will let you in.
They will think, oh, this person is so nice. Okay, so yeah, I think we really are on the right path.
I'm just hoping that we're able to see the castle from here.
Rosenberg, the rose's way.
How much money do you want to bet? A hundred euro if we can see the castle from here.
How much do you want to bet that we will not see the castle from here? A hundred euro?
So, this is the Ferrain, I guess. Maybe not, but it's beautiful. Well, maybe not. So,
look at us coming from this way and already we can see the view of the castle from here.
A hundred euro for me, please.
A hundred euro for each. So, I'm not sure what they are planting here. Could it be
rolls, spilt, roll split?
It's just what?
And then, I promise you, when we get here, there will be a damn cross.
We are just about to find out which country are we in.
Yeah, the view here is so beautiful. You can see the plains, the woods, and ladies and gentlemen,
say hello to Burg Krausenstein, the best view you can think of. You're welcome.
You are so welcome. And like I said, there is going to be a cross absolutely anywhere.
Absolutely any freaking where you can think of, there's gonna be a cross.
That's how you know you're in Austria. There's a better view here.
Beautiful country, beautiful people, and lots of crosses.
You're welcome for showing you this beautiful view. You can really get here in a matter of
minutes from Vienna and see one of the most beautiful castles. I think, to be very honest,
if I think about the castles in and around Vienna, I really cannot think of any more
beautiful castle than this Burg Krausenstein. If I'm wrong, let me know in the comment section,
but I think I'm right. I think we still have to go to the castle. It's closed because it's
open between 1st of April to 1st of November. Today is 20-something of November. 22nd, 23rd,
there. I don't know anymore, thank you lockdown, but yeah. What is this that is being grown here?
It looks like pumpkins. Are they growing here? Wow, look at how the sunset, the sunset is going
to be so beautiful. The sunset will be gorgeous, phantom gorgeous. So we're gonna go back and we
are walking back facing the Burg. The reason they built the castles so high is because,
as I am made to understand, is that castles was really the place where you are watching out for
enemies. So I think this was a good position, especially to have a very beautiful view of Vienna
and its surroundings. So this place is surrounded by, of course, the village next to here is
the Opendorf where we came from and there is on, I guess this behind us would be
Stockerau. There is also Conoyburg around this area and so that was such a strategic location
for the Burg to be, for the lords who lived in this Burg to be able to just monitor and make
sure that there are no enemies coming from whichever, which way. But come to think of this
guy who's living here, this guy is really having such a beautiful view. It's really beautiful.
The homes are so beautiful here.
So, should we go up or just use it?
No, absolutely not. Absolutely you would move the, you would move the
models away from the background.
And then you will not put her in the direct light of the sun.
It's very late now. It's possible that the light is nice. Yeah, that's possible because the sun is
going down. Yeah, okay. I'm the wife of a photographer. So we are not going to go through
the easy road. When we are coming home, you see all this mess near here. Yeah, but I wish this is the way to go.
Should we be going here? This is Unterroch Berscherweg. This way?
Yeah, because I think it says we go this way.
Ah, okay. Hello. So now we have to go up the road most traveled.
He has a very good lens. Yeah, he has a good lens. Ah, the guy who's making photos, yeah.
This is still ugly. But imagine if it was not in focus, it provides such a nice
color because of the color of the sun at this point.
Wow, the light is so beautiful. A golden hour. We're here during the golden hour.
Amazing. Sehr schön. Yep, it's gonna be a little bit of a way to go this way. And so
I'll come back when we are almost at a more interesting place. Adler is a eagle, yeah,
but I'm not always a fan of when you take a wild animal and cage it somewhere for people to see. So
personally, I've never gone in to see the Adler because just of the reason that I
don't feel that that's good for the animal, but I'm not sure.
It's a really beautiful light, golden hour. I think I've wanted to cross this time during the
summer once. Every time I come here, it's always cold as hell. But this is such a beautiful light
and I think this particular spot here, just here, offers a really good spot to
watch the sunset over the valley and the plains.
So here, here would be such a good spot to
to see the sunset. We probably will come back here.
We'll come back here, but this is what brought us here.
Hello. He's so fascinated by this dog.
Hello.
I think this really fascinates him. I think he's really fascinated by the
camera. Ah, you want the camera? Here.
That was so cute. So, should I walk in?
Yes, a real medieval vibe. So here we are. Of course, it's closed, but the idea was not
to go inside. It was to just see the outdoors. And then there is a view of Vienna,
of all the villages you can see from down here.
There is Vienna.
Hello.
Oh, this is not okay.
That is if it's still available.
It's a really good spot.
Okay, there's a way here.
Yeah, this is what I was talking about.
So let me just finish the video at this point.
I hope you enjoyed the tour and the beautiful Kruiserstein,
Burg Kruiserstein.
And I'll see you in the next video.
Until then, tschüss,
Wiedersehen,
Kraheri!
