About Fung Bros: David and Andrew Fung are fascinated by hip-hop, comedy, and food. They love making funny rap songs, trying new food, and making people laugh. Welcome to the official Fung Bros Channel!
What's good, everybody? Andrew from the Fung Bros here. Right now, I am on the outskirts
of downtown Los Angeles, and in this video, we are talking about haircuts. I've actually
teamed up with a group of professional mobile barbers who, in their off time, spend their
time serving the Los Angeles County's homeless population. Out of their own pocket, they
are giving haircuts to homeless people. This is a really dope movement, and when I heard
about it, I knew this was a video that we had to make. They're called the Cutsmiths.
Let's check them out. I'm here with the owners and founders of the Cutsmiths trailer, John
and Mikey. What's up? Yo, real quick, behind us, what am I looking at? We have a 2006 Airstream
that we built from the ground up. We basically took an Airstream, we gutted it out, and we
built a barbershop out of it. It's kind of like a food truck, but for haircutting, you
know what I'm saying? The heartbeat of Cutsmiths is basically restoring the hope to the homeless,
living generously, and being innovative. For us, it's our responsibility to come out and
help the people that need to be inspired, need to be encouraged, and with one cut, man,
it cleans them up, and they can feel so much better about themselves, and they can go into
a job interview, they could walk tall, they could, you know, like how their life changed.
I've never seen anybody walk out of a barbershop with a fresh haircut and not feel different
about themselves. That's true. All right, everybody, if you guys want more information
or want to join the movement and get involved, definitely check out the links down below,
but right now, let's clean up the streets. Yo, we're inside the trailer. Guys, can I
get a quick tour? Yeah, yeah, absolutely. So right here, we got a three-chair barbershop,
full service, three sinks. Yo, you guys got even sinks, man? I know some barbershops that
have a storefront that don't have sinks. Yeah, exactly. You're supposed to. Yo, this is fun.
Do you guys ever have parties in here? Not very much. Barber party? Haircut party? Haircut
parties. We have extra pairs of clippers that we use, because we don't want to use the same
clippers that we use on our regular clients. Right. So we want to take the precautions
we need. And, hey, I recognize these. I was doing a clipper giveaway on my Instagram,
and that's how we met. You hit me up, and you were like, yo, I could use this pair to
give homeless people some haircuts. I was like, dope, let's do it. What's in the sanitary
packs? Can we take a look at this real quick? Yeah, yeah. Oh, okay, so you got a toothbrush,
you got a shaver, you got a granola bar, you got some gloves. Those dude wipes? Yup, dude
wipes. Hey, that's so cool, man, that you guys are a business, you guys make real money,
everybody's making a living, but you guys, you know, all the barbers here are volunteering
their time to help people out. So Mikey, John, and Steven of the Cutsmiths, they're out asking
people if they want to get haircuts. If they know anyone that needs a haircut, like, we're
here right now. Oh, for real?
All right, Martin. It's not a... I usually put these on. It's like this? Yeah. So I had
to put it on like that. You can use this one, but... You're fine, I just... I don't know
what I'm doing. All right, let's try it. I'm working on it, don't worry. I never use this
one. Is it like this? Yeah. Shout out to the wall. Magic clip. When was the last time you
got a haircut, Martin? I got three months. I feel like anybody who gets a haircut, you
know, they feel good afterwards. Martin, are you ready to see yourself? What do you think,
man? Good? Hey, Martin, best of luck. Thank you. Thanks.
This is our heart as a married couple, just to give back to people. And it's so cool to
see someone so passionate to just make someone feel great. I'm a professional makeup artist,
so I know all about making people feel amazing and women feeling empowered. And to see men
do it for other men, it's incredible. I'm so proud. It totally empowers you when you
see yourself in a cleaned up way or just a professional way. You see who you want to
be and you're excited to be that person. It inspires you and you feel like you can conquer
the world when you feel amazing and you look amazing and people react to that. They see
you differently. They see you in a better way because you're taking care of yourself.
So having Mikey and John and Cut and Smith be here, it's empowering these men to be excited
about life and hopefully take those steps to move forward.
I will say Lupe right there in the chair getting her hair done looks very natural. She almost
looks like she belongs in a makeup chair, like she was a star or something, you know,
to have dreams of entertainment. And I think she's still got it, man. She's still got that
star power. Look at her. I definitely believe giving haircuts is very impactful. People
need food and shelter first and foremost. But you know, when it comes down to like how
they feel about themselves and identity, even things like this can really help. So that's
why I really respect you guys and shout out to you guys for donating your time and also
allowing me to hop on this and get involved and film this video. So it was really dope.
All right, everybody. Thank you so much for watching that video. If you guys want more
information, definitely check out the links down below. These guys are called the Cutsmiths.
And until next time, we out. Peace.
That's the actual barber chair. Was that already there?
Oh, no, we brought it.
Oh, you brought it out. Okay. Because I was like, what is a barber chair doing right there?
