We went to Tangkuban Perahu to explore the incredible volcano and crater. We also got to sit in a hot geyser while enjoying our volcanic eggs! Awesome day, if you get the chance then make sure to explore Bandung!

Good morning and welcome to Bandung.
Pretty nice view from the hotel.
We're staying in Sukhjati Hotel in Bandung and we've just begun a bit of a trip across
Java so here's Rich and Jacob's in the shower and all three of us are going to explore Bandung
for the next couple of days and then me and Jacob are going to carry on to some other
places in Java which is really exciting.
Right now I'm going to go and enjoy the breakfast buffet.
Yeah boy, breakfast buffet.
Check it out.
It's a pretty giant buffet.
Let's try it out.
That was a really good breakfast buffet and I've stayed in a few hotels like this where
I've been invited to just come and film the hotel and see what they think but I really
like this place.
The food was really good.
There's decorations just everywhere.
They've all been brought back from across Indonesia.
Just looks really nice.
Everyone's been really friendly and the food was really good.
Anyway, right now we're going to rent some bikes or try to find some bikes and then head
on and explore Bandung.
We're trying to rent some bikes now.
The only problem is in Bandung it's not particularly touristy so we need to try and ring up the
agency to come and drop off some scooters for us which the reception is kindly helping
us with right now.
Awesome, bikes are sorted.
That was surprisingly easy and now we're just going to pop up to the top floor while we
wait to get the view of Bandung.
We're just waiting for the bikes to be dropped off now and I know from the last video I did
in Bandung people asked me how it was possible to rent a bike here.
So basically what I did is we found a number online for a rental agency.
You just ring that number and then they'll come and drop it to your hotel, your accommodation.
It would have been quite difficult with the language barrier so we got reception to do
it for us which has been helpful and now they're about to drop off the bikes.
It was 80,000 per day and that's about $5.
It's a bit more expensive than you might find in Bali but supply and demand, there's not
that many places to rent it from here.
So in a nutshell, that's how you can do it in Bandung.
Oh yeah, I just remembered.
Yesterday was my birthday.
I got loads of happy birthday messages from you guys on Instagram so thank you.
Got the bikes, here are our guys, let's go.
Right, just about ready.
Not really sure how I'm going to film a lot of this right now but we've got the bikes
and now we're going to head to our first destination of the day.
Let's go.
Well after a 45 minute, pretty scenic bike ride, we've arrived to Tangupan Parahu which
is a stratovolcano, basically a volcanic crater.
We're going to go have a look around.
To get in was 200,000 which is about £12.
I don't know, that's quite a lot to pay for something that's natural but it better be
beautiful.
Which is a connoisseur of the hats.
How does this one compare?
Oh, I've already tried this one.
It's too hot, it's too hot.
Oh, wow.
How do you do?
Yeah, good.
Photo, photo.
Selfie.
All in all, pretty impressive.
One thing you can't ever get across in film is the smell and it really smells strongly
of sulphur.
It's like that, I don't know, slightly nauseating sulphur smell.
Rich, we found the mother lode.
So much choice.
Yeah, I like that one, or the bright green one.
It's the most realistic, I think.
How do I look?
Good, good look.
Oh, I can be a cheater.
Oh no, he's smashing it, bro.
Selfie.
One, two, three.
If you want to see all these photos, Travel Tramp, hit him up on Facebook.
That's where we are, Tangipan Parahu, and it's 1,830 metres.
Facts.
Play us a tune, man.
Watch it, try to play Happy Birthday.
Oh, I can't do it.
It's good, it's good so far.
Nice.
Thank you.
Bohemian Rhapsody?
No.
What else?
Nice.
What do you think, gonna buy it?
It won't fit in my suitcase.
Yay.
That's what we came for.
Whoa, it's a big one.
Gnarly, dude.
So we finished at the top, that was Tangipan Parahu, the big crater.
And now we're down at Dolmas Crater.
But to get into this section, we need to pay for a guide.
It's 150,000 between three of us, so it's 50,000 each.
And we were just arming and arming, whether we should.
But we're here, so we're going to.
We're going to get a guide and go and explore this section.
Ingles.
Ingles, yes, good football.
Yeah.
Drinking water?
Yeah.
Earning our money back.
Raining every day.
Every day raining.
Sure.
Okay.
So I fold it over.
And then just eat it like this, yeah?
Hmm.
Yeah, it's kind of like mint.
Cool.
Selfie.
Hey, buddy.
How you doing?
What you doing?
Crater dog.
He's a dog.
And look at Dolmas.
Are you going to bite on the neck?
Yeah.
Okay, yeah.
We'll get three eggs.
Three? Okay.
Egg is...
It looks so desolate.
As Jacob just said, like a different planet.
Just been told as well that we can boil an egg here.
The hot spring is that hot that we can boil an egg and then eat it.
So what are we looking at here?
Oh, cool.
So that's where it comes out.
Ten minutes.
Tud.
Yeah.
Three years ago.
Yeah, three years ago.
But no one was hurt.
Yeah, no, because we have the monitoring geology, geology.
We have seismograph.
Okay.
Okay, so this is okay, yeah?
Not too hot.
But it is warm.
Yeah, warm.
Yeah.
It's hot, man.
No, no, maybe two minutes.
Two minutes and then it's okay, yeah?
Okay.
Don't move, don't move.
Okay.
Nice, yeah?
Yeah, it's nice.
What do you think?
Oh, it's hot.
Oh, yeah, I know.
It feels like you should put it out, but don't move and it's fine, yeah.
Really hot, okay.
We have the eggs, but they're a bit hot right now.
Yeah, I've got my eggs, got my foot spa, got my crater, got my friends, got my guide.
I'm not going to stop now.
We've been told to take our feet out because apparently only five minutes is enough.
I've gone a bit red.
But now it's egg time.
Right, let's do this.
I'll have this one.
Nice.
Okay, so it's a little bit soft, but it's boiled.
Check that out.
Yeah, nice.
Check it out.
Properly boiled egg.
How is it?
Giant crater, music, good scenery, hot springs, foot spa, eggs.
Pretty good day so far.
Now we're going to go somewhere else.
Quick stop off for lunch and we just had satay kalanchi, which is rabbit.
Yeah, which is rabbit satay.
And all the time I've been in Indonesia, I've never had rabbit satay before.
It was really good.
And now I'm going to try and find some hot springs.
Cassie, thank you.
We're at the hot springs now, and it's just about five minutes away from Tangkapan Parahu.
But we've decided not to go in because it's getting late, it's getting dark,
and we'd rather get back to Bandung.
I'm going to jump back on the bikes and make the drive back to Bandung.
Cheers.
We're back in Bandung now in Jalem Braga, the old restaurant and bar street here.
It's really loud, but I'm here, we're going to get pizza.
Yeah.
Pizza.
Bon appetit.
Okay, the music is done now, the pizza's done, the beers are flowing.
It's time to finish the video.
Good first day in Bandung.
Got another day tomorrow, check back for that.
But for right now, again, thank you for watching, and this is my life.
