I like seeing the new graphic designs. I'm just addicted to packs, dawg. Are you guys even going to touch the campaign mode or are you guys just straight to multiplayer? Are you surprised it took that long for a football game to come out with a story mode? Yes. Hey, better late than never. What's going on, guys? I am here with one of the main developers of Madden 18, Mike Young. It's the first time that a football game has ever in history had a story mode. Tell us about it. So Longshot is Madden's first ever story mode and it plays like a campaign mode. It's a four or five hour experience. We shot it to feel like a playable movie. It's got an amazing Hollywood cast. There's not even a single NFL game in this mode. You are in high school and college and it's a story about getting to the NFL. It's a mode that's welcoming more people to Madden because Madden has traditionally been kind of intimidating. You know, for a second, I thought that was the player right here. That's an NFL player right there, guys. Well, Chad Ochocinco is actually in Longshot. I'm sorry. I love you, man. I was still in the guy here. I thought this was you. Is that me? They take it to the heart, man. Gamers, that's what they do. So when they took the L, it hurt. What do you think so far about the game? I love it. I like that they brought back the fluidity of the running back cuts. There's no last year, the running back cuts. They took that out. Yeah, but the year before, I can make a tough cut from one hand to the other hand. Which I like. So this year, just the fluidity of the cuts, I love. How serious do NFL players take their rankings in Madden? Very serious, man. Every week, we go online and see if our rating increase or went down. So, it'll be a God-blessed time playing the game. Maybe not. The Madden rating's going down this week. How was your rating this year? Were you happy with it? No. Straight from Snap. 93. The atmosphere here at the Madden at Midnight event had been crazy. And it makes sense, because Madden has been the king for years. The graphics are crazy. It's almost like you're watching the game itself. Yo, what's going on, man? Bumped into Justin Ryan Kim. He's a producer at High Snobiety. The Asian hypebeasts are also at the Madden 18 event. How is it different, I guess, from like the main football fans? Well, I tell you what, when I was on my radio show this year at one point, we kind of stumbled on the e-sports phenomenon. I learned not only how big it is, but from sports gaming to whatever it is, people need to understand that this is where everything's going. You want to be interactive. People want to be able to be a part of the game instead of just watch the game. Being an ESPN for so long, I didn't like the fact that people are just watching. Yeah, I like to be interactive. So being a part of EA Sports soon, I'm thrilled that I'll get to be very, very close with the production. You saying that the next version is going to be called Coachman 19 instead of Madden? I'm like a marketing guy. I'm a guy that always thinks about how can you make it bigger, better, more realistic? And to me, there's still a lot of things that Madden can do to get better. If you look at the graphics, the things that they've added, but to me, you could add more halftime shows, bigger halftime shows, more marketing within the game, things of that nature that I think that I can help down the road with. I just turned in my Madden 18 launch ticket to the registration. Man, I'm excited to get a prize. I feel like the coolest thing was getting to meet everybody. You feel like a young kid again. I think, you know what it is? I can practice now. I think the thing that really struck me was just how realistic the gameplay was. What they really were able to capture was sort of the atmosphere of a football game. The graphics in this game are unbelievable. It was such an amazing event to be in New York City. There's so many big names here, from people from the sports world to the music world to the YouTube world, which obviously we're a part of. Madden at midnight in New York City. That's it, man.
