About Fung Bros: David and Andrew Fung are fascinated by hip-hop, comedy, and food. They love making funny rap songs, trying new food, and making people laugh. Welcome to the official Fung Bros Channel!
If I was back in school, in the hallways, I'd be, oh, oh, I'd be kind of scared.
I appreciate them appreciating me doing that.
What's going on, guys? It's David.
I have moved back to New York City by myself.
Andrew's in LA. There's absolutely no beef or anything whatsoever.
It's just a move to give something new for ourselves, to give something new to the audience.
And I think you guys are going to like it even more now that we're in New York and LA.
Hit me up if you guys want to collab. I'd love to see you guys out here.
Let's get it.
Hey, what's going on, guys? I've been in New York City for about a month now.
I'm out here. I'm trying to do a couple things.
I'm trying to still do YouTube videos.
So definitely hit me up if you guys want to be a part of something like that.
Number two, I'm still making short films out here.
I want to do something like Master of None.
Thirdly, I am trying to open up a restaurant.
I don't want to reveal the concept or anything like that.
I'm going to take you guys around and just show you my day.
Let's check it out.
We're on Grand Street right now.
They got some really cool stuff. Like, look at this.
In New York's Chinatown, you definitely just see a lot of things you wouldn't see in, I guess,
2017 modern American Western society anymore.
He's like a shoe cobbler, a modern day shoe cobbler.
Right now, you guys, I'm about to walk up Eldridge.
Eldridge is a really interesting street because it's becoming gentrified.
But for the longest time, it was just like really like classic Chinatown.
What's up, man?
And then it was just really classic Chinatown.
And now it's like kind of getting the hipster stuff like that.
I actually love this place. I'm going to be filming here later.
Simple NYC. I love Simple NYC.
So Fuzhou Cuisine, as you guys can see there, that's like a really popular dumpling spot.
You can eat food for like $4.
You can get sesame noodles for $2.
And then you can get jiaozi.
Like, jiaozi is the water-boiled potstickers for like $2.
And you can be full for $4 if you eat a Fuzhou dumpling.
Shout out to the Fuzhou people.
Yo, I guess there's a calorie space down here.
So we're in a crazy looking art space right now.
As you can see, it's very interpretive.
This is the one that stood the most out to me.
This is actually the fire emoji.
I thought this was pretty interesting because it's like a hole in the wall.
Within a hole in the wall.
Very meta.
This one deserves an IG picture.
Alright you guys, I think we've pretty much exhausted this secret art gallery underground tour.
Let's head back out. Let's get some packages.
If you guys remember Petey's Pies, we'll pop up a real quick picture of my pie episode.
It was run by somebody from Virginia.
They have a lot of traditional American, beginning of America type pies.
Right there, check that out.
I really love this area. I do love the Lower East Side.
Chinatown, obviously.
Because you kind of get a nice intersection of all the things that I like.
You can find basketball culture. You can find sneakers.
You can find Asian food.
Not just Chinese food, any type of Asian food.
Hey, what's up?
Hey, how's it going?
I'm actually here with one of my friends, Kara.
Hey guys, come check us out at Sweet Buns Desserts at the Lower East Side.
What gave you the passion to do baking?
I went to college to become a doctor, let's just say.
And I hated it. And this is my down time. Baking.
What is the biggest one to three mistakes that people make when opening up a business?
Because a lot of people are probably like,
Karen, I'm like you. I don't necessarily want to fit in the box of being a doctor, lawyer, engineer, accountant, business person.
All the money making careers, right?
But I have my doubts about the viability of following my passion as a business.
Well, the thing is, a dream is one thing.
But to make your dream happen, it takes hard work.
Basically, your life becomes what you do.
You get no sleep. You get no vacations.
But hey, if you're really into that, if you're into what you're doing, you're passionate about it, that's...
Alright you guys, I'm going to try one.
We have a passion fruit mini cupcake here at Sweet Buns Desserts.
Go on with the rest of our day. Huge shout out to Karen.
Good to see you.
Bye.
Go up the street. We're on our way to get packages.
This is just kind of a normal day.
Alright, so we're here at, I think, NYC.
One of the various streetwear stores that's in the Lower East Side.
Young skaters growing up deep in the skate world, you know, which is dope to see.
Kanye thinks that Beyonce should shop here.
You ready to check my profile? You ready to check my picture?
Oh yeah, I'm the black man. This is me and my brother here.
Come on, man. This is me and my brother.
You're in there. You're in there.
I got to go pick up something. I'll see you guys back at the crib.
Alright you guys, so we just picked up some packages.
We are headed back in the Uber.
Back to the spot.
One of the things that I actually really enjoy is that in New York City,
you take so many cabs and you take so many Ubers and the Lyfts.
You meet a lot of cool drivers too.
Hey Dimitri, how you doing?
How long have you been living in New York City?
26 years.
26 years? Nice, man.
And where are you originally from?
Ukraine.
Ukraine. Nice, man.
How do you think about how New York City's changed in the past 26 years?
Good, bad, left or right?
It's changed a lot.
Of course it's much less criminal.
Okay, way less criminals.
Yeah, I am safe. Very, very safe.
Wherever you go, it's safe.
Yeah, you can like walk on the street at night.
Even girls can walk on the street at night.
I came to New York like a little bit over 10 years ago.
And I remember it was even different 10 years ago.
Way grittier.
I will say this, you know, I miss some of the grit.
I used to see people dancing on the street, breakdancing.
You know what I mean?
You don't really see it anymore.
You just don't see some of the same interesting street people.
But at the same time, everything has a pro and a con to it.
If you talk to anybody who's lived in New York City for more than 15 years,
they can always talk to you for like an hour or two hours about how the city's changed.
Aren't you guys, we're outside of Cha-Cha Matcha.
I'm about to meet with my friend, Evan Jackson Leong.
Yo, I'm just vlogging right now.
This is Evan Jackson Leong, the director of Steakhead.
I just posted the Kickstarter on Facebook.
So yeah, we are here at Cha-Cha Matcha.
We got Brian here from Hawaii Five-O.
Are you off the show too? Did you protest?
Yes.
Unity.
But I protested two years in advance.
Brian is an OG quitter of Hawaii Five-O.
They didn't have equal pay on a television show.
He was out.
What's going on guys?
We are continuing our New York City vlogs.
Today is an intern day.
It's a rainy day.
But we are here today with Kevin.
Kevin A. Wang.
From what? Where are you from?
Long Island, New York.
From Long Island, New York.
How old are you?
16 years old.
Oh man, you're 16.
Holy crap.
With the oldest sounding voice on earth.
So what we're going to do is we're going to hit the barbershop.
And I'm just going to get a cut shorter on the sides.
And you got to cut the top, bro.
You got it because it's the first day of the internship.
I'm not saying it's a test.
It's a prerequisite.
So let's head on over to the barbershop.
We're here at Moron's Barbershop in the Lower East Side.
Chinatown.
I mean Lower East Side.
And we're about to get Kevin cut.
I like it.
It's a good first day for Kevin.
This work ethic.
I like it.
I'm telling you right now.
The hard part right here.
It means he's dedicated.
Look at the finished products right here.
Yo.
These two guys right here.
They came in looking significantly different.
And I think it's only been like 30 minutes.
Was it?
This guy looks really jumping, man.
What did you give him?
Did you give him the finesse cut?
Like you finessed him.
You're more aerodynamic, man.
When you're playing ball, you're going to be a little quicker too.
Yo, Isaac.
How do you feel, bro?
Some people are going to say they can't even tell.
But then you can tell.
I could tell.
Like my mom's going to tell for sure.
She cleaned up my act, man.
I don't feel like the same me that I once was.
I don't know, man.
Okay, man.
Well, you know what, man?
That's Morons Barbershop.
Let's head back.
Man, that was pretty good.
That was an 8.
I'll tell you this.
For 30 minutes.
They did a quick and they did a good job.
I got to say.
For sure.
Yo, so we are actually on our way to complete our mini makeover.
At first, I thought it was just going to be a haircut.
But we're about to get Kevin a fit at Forever 21.
Kevin, you excited?
Yeah, I'm mad excited for this one.
What clothes should we get to match your eyebrows, Isaac?
Bro, I don't even need clothes.
I've got too much.
You just show up in just wife beaters now because you've got the brows.
You already know, man.
This is all I need, man.
This right here.
Boston.
Oh, very cool.
What's your favorite one?
What's the one you like?
Oh, nice, man.
Awesome.
Thank you so much.
That's so cool.
What's up, man?
Hi, I'm Owen.
Nice to meet you.
My younger sister's a fan.
Do you mind if I get a picture?
Yeah, for sure.
Let's do it.
I definitely think a lot of Asians appreciate that there's an Asian personality,
even though I'm not from New York City, that loves New York City,
and wants to represent it, you know, in my own way.
And I think people appreciate that.
So I appreciate them appreciating me doing that.
So how about we get a slice of champion pizza real quick?
As you can see, I'm on a little bit of a diet.
I went with the mushrooms.
That's my protein.
I wish I could say the same.
This is mac and cheese.
Let's get you a shirt and some pants and shoes.
Of course, those are cool already.
So you would wear that?
I would wear that.
No, the camo is cool.
Yeah, I would wear that.
All right, I'll say this.
This was so cheap that we have money to get some pants on sale.
Okay.
So that would be the full package.
Is this something you would wear?
This?
Yeah, probably.
Okay, that's the makeover from Kevin.
Now, a lot of people are going to be like,
oh, it doesn't look that different, but the whole vibe is different.
Because first of all, that's a jacket slash hoodie combo.
It looks different.
I'm serious.
If I was back in school, I'd be kind of like in the hallways.
I'd be, oh, I'm going to be kind of scared.
I don't know.
He might beat me up.
I don't know, man.
You look scary, but in a cool way, like intimidating.
That's how cool you look, bro.
So, dude, it fits better with the backpack he was wearing, bro.
Who is this big man on campus?
Well, Kevin, how you feel, man?
I feel completely different, actually.
I haven't worn one of these in a while.
But, yo, man, I think it went really well,
and I liked it because we only had to get one piece,
but it was like two pieces.
It matched with your maroon shirt.
The sweats, it actually goes with the sporty look.
And you have the cork dunks already,
which was kind of like a pretty cool, interesting shoot.
And actually, low-key, the cork matches with this little Herschel tab right here.
The black, the black.
Boom!
Put your hair up.
Just show them what it would look like if you pushed it up.
Oh, yeah.
Try to push it up.
Give it some volume.
Give us some volume.
Kevin, where can they find you at?
Instagram, Kevin A. Wang.
All right, Kevin A. Wang.
All right, man.
Good first day as an intern?
All right, man.
I think you owe me some scripts, man.
