Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel.
So today I'm going to be talking you through
a few easy ways that you can update your wardrobe
for autumn or fall, whatever you like to call it.
Right now in the UK, there's not a ton of stuff
in the stores yet.
There's a fair bit, but I feel like we're not fully
into autumn yet.
And I like to kind of have a little bit of a browse
before I go in and purchase all of my autumn things.
I like to assess the situation,
but I also want to feel very autumnal now.
And it's also still quite warm.
It's not too chilly yet.
So I thought today I'd talk you through a few ways
that you can update your wardrobe
and feel a little bit more autumnal
without spending too much money.
So one of the first things that you can do
for your wardrobe this autumn
is to change up the cut of your jeans.
And this doesn't actually mean
buying a whole new pair of jeans,
because this is actually something that I've been looking
to do to already existing jeans.
And there's a police car going by.
Anyway, moving on.
This is something that I've been looking to do
to a few pairs of my jeans,
but I saw this pair on Topshop
and thought that they were a really good example.
And I thought I'd show these in a video
versus me botching up some jeans first
and then showing them.
So it's basically just cut off and frayed at the bottom,
but the front hem is a lot shorter than,
or a little bit shorter than the back hem.
It's really not that hard to do.
And the Topshop ones look like they've been unstitched.
I don't know if this is,
I think this is kind of fake unstitching
and it's made to look like they've been unstitched.
But you could actually do that to a pair of jeans
if you wanted to.
And it's really imperfect,
which is something I like about it.
So when you're DIYing it yourself,
it's pretty hard to go wrong.
And I really like this pair from Topshop actually.
They're Jamie jeans and they're quite a dark blue.
And I've been a lot more into dark blue jeans recently.
I was going to do this cut to the pair
that I'm wearing now,
which are essentially the same,
but without the cropped front section.
I didn't want to ruin them
because I actually really love these jeans.
But if you don't want to splash out on a new pair of jeans,
it is definitely something that you can do
to an already existing pair of jeans
or maybe ones that you've kind of fallen out of love with
and it might help to reignite that love of them.
Also, if any of you are interested in these jeans
or any of the other items
that I do talk about in this video,
I will link as much as I can
in the info box below for you.
So another way that you can upgrade your wardrobe
for this autumn is to add a fur collar to a coat.
Fur collars is something that I think
are going to come back majorly this autumn.
I had a fur collar coat last autumn and I loved it.
And they just seem to be appearing more and more and more
at the moment.
And this is actually one from Topshop
that just already has a fur collar.
It's one that's going to be shown in an upcoming haul.
So I've kind of spoiled the surprise here,
but there are a lot of items at the moment
that have fur collars and I love them.
But this is something that you could easily add yourself.
I'm pretty sure ASOS do fur collars
and you can buy them and attach them to whatever you want.
You could also buy a fur or,
when I say fur, by the way, I mean faux fur.
I don't mean real fur.
I just want to caveat that for anyone
that's taking me a bit too literally
because that sometimes happens and no, no, no.
So if you have a more plain coat
and you want the option to go with
or without a faux fur collar,
that is definitely a good option.
And it's one that's a lot less pricey
than buying an entire new coat.
A lot of you will know that I just don't really have
a problem with buying new coats
because I love coats.
But if you don't want to spend the money
on a whole new coat,
that is definitely something to look into.
This one is a new one of mine
that I will show in a haul
with a couple of other things soon and I love.
So in addition to faux fur on coats,
you can also add a trim to leather jackets as well
or you could invest in a denim jacket
that has the more shearing kind of fur collar material
and that's also a really nice alternative
and one that's not as lux.
So if you like things a bit more casual,
that's definitely something to look into.
So another update that I think everyone should try
and make to their wardrobe this autumn
is actually one that has kind of started up in the summer
and this is one that I personally am quite obsessed with.
And although it's not super autumnal,
I feel like it's a really nice way
to update the accessories that you already own
and that is by using scarves.
So most of you will know the trend
of wrapping scarves around your neck already
and it's one that I love but I have a very short neck
and it's not something that I can get away with.
However, I love scarves
and there are a few other ways
that you can easily incorporate that into your wardrobe
and the first way is by wrapping it around your bag handles.
You can also do this with any little loops on the bag
if you don't have a bag that has like enough handle
or anything like that.
So the first way is obviously around the handles.
The one that I'm using on this bag is from Topshop
and I love the colours of this.
I just think that it goes with the bag so nicely
and you can also go with really autumnal colours
which I think is perfect
because obviously we're going into autumn
and that's what I've done with this bag
and this is another way that you can incorporate a scarf
into a bag that doesn't necessarily have a short handle
that you hold just with your hand.
So with this one, I've wrapped the scarf
around the leather shoulder pad on my bag
and I love the colours in these ones.
These are just so beautiful and this is so autumnal
and it just makes me really happy to look at.
I'm a bit obsessed with this one.
I'm obsessed with most of the things in this video.
That's why I'm making this video
so if I use that word a lot, that is why.
So yeah, I love the colours on this one
and if you wanted to add some gold chain to it,
you can also do that as well
and I think that it is really, really cute.
You can also just pop the scarf hanging out the loop
on a bag like this as well
if you didn't want to wrap it to the top of the strap.
For me, this has stayed put quite well
but if you are a bit conscious of it slipping around,
you can always loop it through, things like that
or you could wrap it around the bottom section as well.
I think that could look really cute
and for anyone wondering,
this scarf is actually made by my friend Sophie.
She makes the most incredible scarves,
kimonos, bomber jackets.
I will link her website below.
If you're into more unique designs,
then I would definitely recommend
looking into her because her stuff is incredible
and I have so many of her scarves now, it's ridiculous.
I've posted them on Instagram before
and you guys seem to love them.
So yeah, I will link her in the info box for you guys
and I actually have another one of her scarves
on my Topshop bag.
So this is one of the ways that I chose
to update my Topshop bag
and make it look a little bit more luxe
because this bag is quite a plain bag
which I think is lovely
because you can accessorise it and just make it your own
but for me, just having nothing on this bag
makes me feel a little bit sad.
So I love having a pom-pom on the side
but I love having a scarf wrapped around the top handle
and because it has one top handle,
it is ideal for wrapping a scarf around.
I feel like this bag was made for that
and I often switch up the colours on this
depending on what I'm wearing
and that is definitely something that you can do as well
and I feel like a lot of people
will have a little scarf like this hanging around
that they can wrap around things
so it's a really nice touch to add to your bags.
So again, this one is from my friend Sophie.
It has a gorgeous rose gold detail to it
and lots of these pale white,
they kind of look blue to me but I have funny eyesight
and I see colours differently
but like very pale whitey blue dots
and little patterns on them and it is just so gorgeous.
I often put this through the loops
of my Givenchy Antigona as well
because it just goes so perfectly in terms of the colours
so yeah, that is a way that you can really upgrade
a very plain bag.
And finally, another way that you can use these scarves
is actually as a belt
and this is something that my friend Lydia does
and it always looks incredible on her
and if you have a slightly thinner, longer scarf
like this one, it kind of lends itself better to doing this
but I think you can do it with any
as long as you wrap it and make it a bit thinner
and make sure none of the edges are poking out.
So that is another way that you can update your wardrobe
by using scarves.
I am just obsessed with them
and I'm loving that trend at the moment
and I'm gonna keep on with the theme of belts here.
I definitely feel like waist belts
are going to have another little revival
and if I'm honest, I am so into that.
I kind of missed it in a way
and this applies whether you're wearing a jumper,
a shirt or a coat.
With coats, they're often ones
that have the tie around the waist.
You can just wear one of those if you already have it
and I feel like that's gonna be another one
of the trends this autumn
and it's a really easy one to work with.
If you don't have a coat that has a belt
or you're one of those people that loses the belts
or throws them away like this girl over here,
you can always add your own
and this is one that I really like to do with bigger belts
on some of my more plain black coats
and I think that it looks really lovely
and I also really like this with shirts as well.
The one I have here is actually the H&M Balmain belt
which has the gold buttons on it as well
and I wear this with either the buttons at the front
or at the back and I like the colour of this actually.
It's a really nice autumnal colour
and goes quite nicely with the green on this bag
so I feel like I'm gonna have to work with that
at some point and make an outfit out of it
but yeah, I think waist belts are definitely
one of those things that we're going to be seeing
a lot more of so I would definitely recommend
digging your waist belts out
or you can use a scarf.
Going back to scarves again.
Another trend I've been seeing is one that is so easy
to incorporate into your daily outfits.
It's one that I saw a lot at Best of All
and ever since I've been seeing it constantly
and it is basically to wear your coats or cardigans
or any outer layer slightly off shoulder.
The off shoulder trend from the summer
is still hanging around guys
and I'm so into that because I love a bit of off shoulder
and this is something that you can do
with a faux fur coat that you already have
or a chunky cardigan.
Anything that you already have is quite a nice trend
because it's not a specific item,
it's just a way of wearing it.
So that is definitely one that I would look into doing.
I have done this a couple of times recently
and I've really enjoyed it.
It just feels really casual and I'm all about that life.
So that is another really easy way
that you can mix up your summer to autumn
transitional wardrobe.
And finally a bonus one for those of you
who are not necessarily into fashion
or you have a dress code to wear when you're at work
or something like that but you can really
play up your makeup is to go for a dark lip
because that is my favourite way to feel autumny
when it's not autumn yet.
I have two favourite recommendations here for you.
The first one is the Stila Stay All Day
liquid lipstick in the shade Rico.
Oh my god, this is gorgeous, I love it so much.
I cannot wait to wear this, yes.
And the second one is the Huda Beauty
liquid matte in Vixen.
And this is a beautiful browny, almost berry shade
but it's not really berry, maybe it's a bit more of a red.
It's very much brown but it's got a little bit
of something else, it's got a bit of warmth
which is really nice.
So those are my two recommendations
for autumnal lip colours.
If you have drier lips, I would recommend
the Stila liquid lipstick.
I feel like it sits so nicely on everyone.
This one is a little bit more drying
and it's a bit more heavily scented as well
so depending on your preferences,
those are two really nice options.
So I really hope you guys enjoyed this video.
Let me know if you like this kind of topic
and format, if there's anything that you would like
me to change or anything you would like me to do in future.
Just pop me a comment below and I will try and do that.
Also, sorry there isn't a vlog today.
Today was meant to be a vlog and I think some of you
might remember me saying a few weeks back
that it was meant to be but I actually went to Best of All
and it was raining so much that I didn't get my camera out
because I really didn't want to break it.
So that is why we have this video today
which I was actually so excited to film.
So I really hope you guys did enjoy this one
because I loved putting it together.
I spent ages wrapping scarves around bags
and I was in my happy place.
So I really hope you guys have enjoyed this.
Please give this video a thumbs up if you did
and make sure you're subscribed
because there is a really new exciting video
coming up next and I also have Vlogtober coming up
and you're gonna want to be subscribed, trust me.
So I'm so excited for that.
I hope you're all having the best day
and I'll see you guys in my next video, bye.
