I am Otto von Bismarck, a German statesman who served as the first chancellor of Germany from
1871 to 1890. I was born in 1815 in the Prussian province of Schönhausen and grew up in a noble
family. I pursued a career in politics and became a member of the Prussian parliament in 1847.
I was a conservative and a staunch defender of the Prussian monarchy, which I believed was the
best form of government for Germany. I served as ambassador to Russia and France and became
prime minister of Prussia in 1862. As prime minister, I implemented policies aimed at
strengthening the Prussian state and expanding its power. I reformed the military and introduced
universal male suffrage, which helped me gain popular support. I also engaged in a series of
wars that helped Prussia gain territory and cement its position as the leading power in Germany.
In 1871, I was instrumental in the creation of the German Empire, which was united under the
leadership of the Prussian king, Wilhelm I. I became the first chancellor of the empire and
continued to pursue policies aimed at strengthening Germany and expanding its influence.
During my tenure as chancellor, I implemented a number of social reforms, including the
introduction of health and accident insurance and the establishment of a retirement age.
I also pursued a policy of colonial expansion, which helped Germany acquire territories in
Africa and the Pacific. Overall, I am known for my realpolitik approach to politics,
which prioritized practical considerations over ideological principles. I believe that
Germany's strength lay in its military and industrial power, and I worked tirelessly
to build up these sectors of the economy. My legacy is still felt in Germany today,
where I am remembered as one of the most influential statesmen in the country's history.
