Amber Heard Makes Hollywood Comeback in 'In the Fire' Trailer

Doctor, do you believe you can cure him? The first trailer for In the Fire, starring Amber Heard, just dropped. The film marks Heard's Hollywood comeback after a highly publicized defamation trial lost to her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. The paranormal psychological thriller, set in the 1890s, sees Heard battle a demonic possession. I would like to see the boy as soon as possible. You keep him like this. It is best. The actress plays Grace Burnham, a psychiatrist in a remote plantation in Colombia, caring for a disturbed boy with inexplicable abilities. Mama won't buy books from me. And why is that? Because I killed her. As she begins treatment, Burnham ignites a war between science and religion, with the local priest claiming the boy is possessed by the devil and the cause of the village's woes. I came to help you understand. Martin has a condition, if you just see right here. Our book also has a name for this condition. Heard said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, The film is a meditation on the almost supernatural powers of love, told through a strong-willed and independent woman at the turn of the 20th century. I feel honored to be part of this labor of love and to be the lead in Connor Allen's vision. I feel lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing cast. They're as dedicated and magical as the characters they play. And they need something to blame for that fear. And it's you. Because you are different. Heard completed production on In the Fire in March 2022. A few months later, in June, a Virginia jury awarded Johnny Depp $15 million in a suit against Heard, ruling that he had been defamed when his former wife wrote a December 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post in which Heard called herself a domestic abuse survivor. In the Fire is set for release in theaters and on digital and on-demand platforms on October 13th. For more on this story and to watch the full trailer, head to THR.com.
