Thank you so much for joining us.
Thank you.
Hi, everyone.
It's Mandy Cohen.
I'm the director of the CDC and I'm here with the
assistant secretary for aging, Allison Barkoff.
So we always have to remember that protecting your
health is a team sport.
We need all the help we can get to make sure that
we're protecting ourselves.
And that's why I'm so grateful to be here with
Allison today to make sure we're talking to our
older Americans.
Older Americans as we get into the fall and winter
are unfortunately at higher risk of bad things
happening from respiratory viruses like flu,
COVID, and RSV.
And so we're here together at the Vita Senior
Center making sure folks know to get their
vaccines and protect themselves right now.
Folks are getting vaccinated right over there.
So, Allison, just thank you so much for being
here with me.
Again, like this is so important for us to be
working together on this.
And thank you so much.
Thank you so much, Mandy, for your work and CDC's
work to make sure that we are really reaching out
to people who are the highest risk.
Of course, older adults, people who are, you know,
compromised, people with disabilities.
And as you said, we have got to work together to
reach people.
Well, and ACL, which Allison runs, has some great
resources for seniors that they need help finding
a vaccine, maybe getting transportation.
So maybe you could tell them about all those
resources that I know you help folks with.
We have networks across the country and in every
community that can help us.
And we have a lot of people that are in the
community.
I think, you know, we have a lot of people that
are in the community that can help folks with
disabilities.
That can help folks across the country and in
every community that can help both older adults
and people with disabilities.
They need help finding a vaccine or getting
transportation to a vaccine site or even in-home
vaccinations.
You can go to ACL.gov, ACL.GOV to find
resources.
And we are really excited to do everything that we
can to help any older adult or person with a
disability who is willing and interested in
in getting a vaccine and protecting themselves this fall.
All right.
You heard it here.
Make sure you're getting your vaccines.
Thanks everyone for protecting yourself.
