History and Legends of Khao Phravihara Temple
Khao Phravihara Temple is a Hindu temple located in the Khao Phanom Dong Rak area,
657 meters above sea level.
This temple is known as Khao Phravihara.
Khao Phravihara Temple is located in Khao Phravihara Province, Cambodia,
near Udayan of Khao Phravihara Province, Kanthararak District, Srisaket Province, Thailand.
It used to be the easiest way to the temple.
Khao Phravihara Temple has a Khamen-style structure,
built in the southern style, which is different from most other temples.
Thailand and Cambodia have a long history of mistaking the north of the temple
since the year 2,505 B.E.
The law in the country has made it illegal to build a temple north of the temple.
On August 8, 2015,
the National Institute of Science and Culture
has already registered the temple as a World Heritage Site in Cambodia.
There are two names for Khao Phravihara Temple.
In general, we call it Khao Phravihara Temple, right?
Another name is Sieracharuk,
which is found in the foothills of Phrawa Lai Monastery.
There are many pieces of Khao Phravihara Temple around the area,
and there are a lot of rocks in the area.
Each piece is composed of ancient artifacts and artifacts
that are worth studying about the history of the temple
and the history of the people.
At that time, the temple was located in this part of the world.
I will not explain the details of this story to everyone.
Because it is a story about construction,
but I will put a link for everyone to read instead.
If anyone wants to know about the story of the construction of this Khao Phravihara Temple.
I will skip to the next topic.
That is the story about the history of the Khao Phravihara Temple.
The history of the Khao Phravihara Temple
tells the origin of the Khao Phravihara Temple or Phrawa Lai Monastery
that was built in the reign of King Suryavarman I.
According to the inscription that appears in the Charuk
on the 4th floor of the Mahamuntian Gate,
it was built in the year 1581.
King Suryavarman I wrote his name in the Charuk Sira
as Suryavamtheva,
which is close to what is written in Thai as Suryabhramtheva.
This temple has a legend that claims to be the kingdom of King Sivaka of Nakhon Si Thammarat
who raised an army to attack Krung Lavo or Roppuri
when the Buddha was 1446.
He may have invaded the kingdom of Krung Lavo
or became a prince
and went on a pilgrimage with Queen Siviraraksami Mahadevi
and conquered the Kingdom of Kampucha in the year 1545.
According to the Charuk on the 4th floor of the Mahamuntian Gate,
King Suryavarman I came from King Sintarawamtheva
or Sintaraphromthep in the year 969-993.
Queen Siviraraksami Mahadevi
came from King Chaivaraman II
who was a descendant of King Sivichai
who ruled the land of Thep, Malayu and Prathetjawa
from the 12th to the 18th century.
King Sivaka of Nakhon Si Thammarat was also a descendant of King Chaivaraman II.
King Suryavarman and King Akaramahese
built the temple of Khao Praviharn Phra Hed Dai
which is in the Charuk Aksor and Sanskrit language
which is located in Kruha Prang at Khao Praviharn
and at Prasathin Ta Kaew, Siamrat.
There is a woman named Pinsawan Kramwadee
who ruled the city and Khao Praviharn.
There are three princes, four princesses.
The first prince is called Visanupol or Raksameen.
The second princess is called Pran.
King Chaivaraman II named Pran as King Akaramahese
and named the new princess as Pranangkamphot Raksamee.
Visanupol or Raksameen
had a war with King Chaivaraman II.
The documents of the Art Department
gave the conclusion that
according to this, there may be two places.
In one place, King Chaivaraman II from Sivichai
came to rule the land of Kampucha
and led his army to invade the palace of Pinsawan Kramwadee.
Visanupol or Raksameen fought against them
and eventually became the next minister.
King Chaivaraman II was able to
negotiate with Pranangkamphot Raksamee.
In another place, King Chaivaraman II
had already controlled the palace of Pinsawan Kramwadee
by negotiating with Pranangkamphot Raksamee.
Therefore, Visanupol was able to
conduct a coup to take over the throne.
Anyway, in this document,
it is said that it was the place where
King Chaivaraman II performed his rites.
This means that this place was
clearly ruled by King Chaivaraman II.
King Suriyaphromthep or Suriyavaraman I
and King Akaramahese Viraraksameemahadevi
were the descendants of King Suriyaphromthep
and King Akaramahese Viraraksameemahadevi.
Therefore, King Suriyaphromthep was able to
expand the royal palace of King Suriyaphromthep
to a larger area and deepen the history of the kingdom.
He also built the palace of Khao Praviharn
and the palace of Ta Kaew.
Anyway, the famous historian
in the history of history is
Sattracharn Yossede.
He gave a theory about the history of Khao Praviharn
that the stone palace of Khao Praviharn
according to the legend is called
Kasatkhorm which is named after
King Suriyavaraman II,
the founder of the 10th century
or at the end of the 16th century
in the year 1571.
The construction of the stone palace of Khao Praviharn
took about 11 years
and was not completed yet
due to the end of the rule of King Sattracharn.
Therefore, the stone palace of Khao Praviharn
was almost completely built.
The purpose of the construction of the stone palace
of Khao Praviharn
as it is considered to be justified
In ancient times,
even though this land is considered to be Buddhist,
the Buddhism from southern India
was spread to Sumatra, Chava
and the southern part of the Golden Horn
which includes both Thailand and Kampuchea.
Especially in Kampuchea in ancient times,
the ruler of that country
used to have an Indian bloodline
so there are many Buddhist temples.
The Buddhist temples in ancient times
have the same history
which is the history of fiction
even Khao Praviharn is the same.
The author of this fiction
is Mercier Pamanthier
of the French University
who is an important philosopher
and historian
but he is also very familiar with this story.
The French wrote about Khao Praviharn
which can be summarized as
Once upon a time,
there was a king
who was a very fierce and fierce Thai
who ordered the execution of those
whom the king warned
and the king and important people
were ordered to be executed.
Then there was a noble woman
who had a good character
who was an enemy of the king
so she led the newly born child
to the forest
and left him with a hunter.
When the child grew up
he was sent to a high mountain
where the king's horse
was killed
so the king went to find
the child of the noble woman
and invited her back
to the kingdom.
Later on,
the horse was sent to the high mountain
and the king built a castle
on the high mountain
to be a temple
and to worship the god
and named the castle
as Viharn Sawan
so it is said that
Viharn Sawan should be called
Khao Praviharn castle.
That's all for today.
