Lemonakai in the Sukurejang language means five rivers.
The Lemonakai area is the mouth of a number of rivers in the Hulupalik district, North Bengkulu regency.
On this occasion, the Antara TV team visited one of the waterfalls there, namely Batu Cincin.
The Lemonakai river water is used to maintain the sustainability of plants in the forest in a natural way.
In addition, the river water is used to irrigate agricultural land and meet the needs of the villagers.
Batu Raja, Kecamatan, Hulupalik, the place where the people of Sukurejang live a lot.
This area is guarded by the village forest management agency or LPHD.
The head of the LPHD Lemonakai security section, Sukman, said
he and his team often patrol the forest to ensure safety as well as to monitor the safety of tourists.
In their daily life, they report if there is damage to the body, wild robbery, theft, illegal actions, and other related matters.
We patrol a team to the Lemonakai village forest to see if there are new openings,
or if there are trees that have been cut down or damaged.
We often don't find anything like that.
One of the leaders of the Indonesian conservation community or KKI Warsi, Teguh Al-Ihsan, said
the Batu Cincin waterfall in the Lemonakai valley needs to be developed.
Teguh added that it needs to improve the road access facilities to the Batu Cincin waterfall and its surroundings.
Thus, tourists can enjoy the river panorama, waterfalls, and forests while learning the importance of forest conservation through the concept of eco-tourism.
For now, for eco-tourism, there is no attribution yet.
But if there are visitors who need a guide,
we have a key that is provided or facilitated by the village forest management agency.
But the benefits that we hope for in the future,
for example, if people visit the village, there will be products or souvenirs brought from the village.
So now we are developing, for example, eco-printing activities,
there is the activity of the Anjaman kingdom, and the development of coffee business as well.
Eco-tourism is a concept of environmental tourism that prioritizes nature conservation,
the empowerment of the social, cultural, economic, and local communities,
in addition to the approach of learning and education.
For those tourists who come, it is hoped that they can have fun while learning more closely about the importance of forest conservation.
I firmly add that the local government's support is already good to provide shelter facilities,
gazebos, and several neighborhoods.
But there really needs to be an increase,
such as road construction that facilitates access to ecological tourism sites in Batu Cincin.
If the tourism ecosystem can grow,
then people do not need to open forests to earn income,
but can make money through eco-tourism.
