Monti Cenon e Croz di Primalunetta - Gruppo del Lagorai

Hello to all friends of the mountain, we are near Malga Cenon di Sotto, Ponte delle Rudole, on the group of Lake Rai. Today we will do a tour of Anello that will take us on the mountains Cenon and Craz of Prima Leonetta. Immediately after Malga Cenon di Sotto we travel the asphalt road uphill turning immediately to the right and we take the junction on the left towards Malga Cenon di Sopra. The car can also be parked on this road that you see down here on the right, there are slats a little further on where there is space available. We are arriving at Malga Cenon di Sopra, never close. Arrived at this junction we now take the L34 path for Cima Cenon and Cima Prima Leonetta. The one below is the path we will take for the return, while this one in front is the path we will take for the ascent. This is probably the most difficult stretch we will do today, the ascent here is quite challenging. However, we continue now uphill towards the top of Mount Cenon and then the Craz of Prima Leonetta. We have reached a beautiful panoramic point, with an excellent view of the group of Lake Rai. Arrived at the top of Mount Cenon there is the Cross, a splendid panorama of 360 degrees that spans from the Val Sugana up to the group of Lake Rai. In its background you can also see the furthest from the Umiti, while here in front there is the Cross of Prima Leonetta, therefore our final goal. Here we can notice remains of the barracks of the First World War. We are just below the Cross of Prima Leonetta. Occupied by the Austrians during the Strafe Expedition on May 25, 1916, the Crest Cenon Prima Leonetta had immediately become a thorn in the side for the Italians. From the Quota 2304, their positions, Tombolini di Caldenave, Forcella Ravetta and Monte Cima, were in fact constantly exposed to automatic weapons and cannon shots. This is the path, also identified by some red poles. We are continuing through a beautiful path towards Malga Prima Leonetta. Be careful because you always have to look where the red poles that indicate the road are, it is not always very visible. It is not difficult to identify them, but you have to be a little careful. On May 25, 1916, the Austrians occupied the Crest of Cenon Prima Leonetta. In that same year, the besiegements placed by the Pilo Buses, halfway between the Malga Prima Leonetta and Crosta di Prima Leonetta towns, were used for military purposes by the Italians. In particular, by the Alpini Rambaldi group. If the old stable had been used as a warehouse, in the almost square body of the barracks a field infirmary was located. We are arriving at Malga Prima Leonetta, here at the bottom right. We then continue along the road behind Malga for the return. We now continue along the route 333 towards Malga Cenon above and Cenon below where we parked the car. We have just passed the bivouac with the route L34 that this morning we took to reach the top of Mount Cenon and Crosta di Prima Leonetta. Now we are returning to Malga Cenon above and therefore Malga Cenon below where we parked the car. This road, which is the same as we did in the walk, will take us to the starting point in about three quarters of an hour. We have therefore reached the end of this beautiful excursion, really a beautiful excursion, very panoramic, beautiful environments. The Lago Rai group is truly exceptional in terms of colors, in terms of variety of environments. It is a long excursion that took about 9 hours with a slope of about 1,000 meters so it is definitely recommended only to people with a good degree of training and preparation. The path is E-E class, double E, therefore expert excursionists when there are exposed stretches. There is a very steep canal to go down from the Crosta di Prima Leonetta and continue with the Giro d'Anello.
