People deluded, I'm back again.
PSV Arsenal match reaction.
As you can see above my head, it finished 1-1.
We don't have the best of records when travelling to Holland.
Obviously, PSV haven't lost too many times this season.
I think the only time they've lost is when we played them at the Emirates.
So, yeah, if you can't win, don't lose.
Considering the rotations, we didn't lose.
It weren't the most glamorous of games.
Hopefully, there's no injuries.
Obviously, we got through. We didn't lose.
We knew we was already qualified,
and I don't like to call a Champions League game this,
but it was a bit of a dead rubber.
Both teams are through.
It is what it is, really.
And I think you've got to speak about the opposition first.
I think PSV probably deserved a bit more.
They probably had the better of chances with us.
I know Trossart probably should have scored or squared it.
Kirio's goal was ruled out rightly for offside.
Probably should have squared it to Enketia rather than go for the shot.
He had a tough night, didn't he, Kirio?
You know, Sergio Destu not making you...
Bakayoko just ripping you all throughout.
He had a tough night, innit?
But we got it done.
You know, obviously, as I said,
for those of you who are part of my watch-alongs, people,
I said at the start, which a lot of you would know,
considering we ain't got the biggest of squads,
and I didn't know if Arteta was going to make mad changes
because he's quite coy.
But considering we found the line-up,
we saw a lot of changes.
We knew we weren't going to press with the same intensity,
attack with the same fluidity,
you know, build from the goalie to defence
to midfield and up front with the same intensity.
We knew to a degree that was going to happen, essentially.
Big up PSV because I think they deserved a bit more.
I think it was probably too easy for them
to progress defence, to attack.
There was too many gaps, really,
and they probably deserved their equaliser.
It's kind of disappointing that we only held on
to that lead for eight minutes,
obviously, either side of half-time.
And it took us a while.
I'd say about 20 minutes to look all right.
As I said, we made multiple changes.
I think apart from Reece Nelson,
I don't think any of the squad players
really pulled up any trees or made Mikel Arteta
considering giving you more minutes.
I mean, there was a lot of, you know,
there wasn't enough care on the ball.
He was giving the ball away cheaply.
For large periods of that game,
there was nothing really to talk about
in the final third.
I'm a big fan of Jorginho.
I think he should be on the peripheral
and surplus the requirements.
But I did think he would be at it,
that we'd see a lot more from him on the ball.
I think Havertz did all right.
I think Nelson did all right.
I think Saliba and Gabriel,
obviously Saliba and Cedric could have done
better for the goal.
And Gabriel had a mistake that went unpunished.
But I think Saliba and Gabriel,
as we knew, because we haven't got
the Declan Rice's other guards
and whoever in front of them,
they had to be a defender.
And we probably saw them on the ball
a lot more than we should have.
And you saw, especially with El Nene
in the first minute,
he had a couple of bad moments.
Cedric, for every good pass,
there's terrible passes.
Big him up for being involved in the goal
where Nelson found Enquetia.
But Cedric shouldn't be at the club, innit?
And as I said, in normal circumstances,
there's elements of me being unhappy,
but we got the job done in a dead rubber.
We didn't lose.
It's not even for that.
What I would say, squad players
didn't pull up any trees.
I think the centre-halves
had to do a bit too much.
I think Ramsdale deserved the clean sheet.
I think Nelson can hold his head high.
Big up Eddie for scoring as well.
Because your decision-making
in the first moment
when you tried to take some shot
from a wild angle was crazy.
Trossart, I'm a big fan of Trossart,
but he's been missing for a while now.
I don't think Trossart did much.
I think Havertz was all right.
And I felt sorry for him
because Havertz was making a lot of runs.
But there wasn't that midfield link,
if I'm completely honest.
So we didn't lose.
It would be nice to end our little hoodoo.
But yeah, man, I think it was,
on a normal day,
I think it was too easy for PSV
to progress from attack to defence.
I think, you know, at times,
you know, there's too much gaps.
I think Kyrgios was stressed out,
as I said.
Kyrgios, you know,
your last two starts
haven't covered yourself with any glory.
I think Kyrgios had a,
to be honest, terrible game,
if I'm completely honest.
I don't think Kyrgios had,
there's no real positives
from Kyrgios' performance,
if I'm honest with you.
You know, to be honest,
six minutes into the game,
a bit like the Villa game
away from home,
we should have conceded.
Big up Saliba for the block.
And I think actually Gabriel did OK.
But I remember Saliba
and Ramsdale didn't know
too much about it.
But obviously, you know,
he saved it.
17 minutes in,
they've clipped the post as well.
And I think, you know,
PSV attacked with intent.
They definitely gave a reaction
that their fans can be proud of
at their place.
It definitely wasn't like
the game at the Emirates.
I think we was on the back foot
a bit too much.
I think there was a slow start
and there was elements of rustiness.
I think it was too easy
on the transition for PSV.
I don't think there was
enough care on the ball.
As I said, I think there was
too much space on the counter
and were giving the ball away
far too cheaply.
I did think for large periods
of that first half,
PSV had, you know,
a lot of joy in our final third.
But their decision-making
or their quality
in the final third,
fortunately for me as an Arsenal fan,
was letting them down, really.
I don't think we was playing
enough through the middle.
And I think Gabriel and Saliba
were having to play
through the sides.
And there wasn't that,
you know, that Declarest
or that Odegaard.
You know, we know Havertz
runs further forward,
but there weren't that point
in midfield to pick the ball up.
That's where I think
El Nene and Jorginho
could have done better.
I know El Nene had an effort
where he hit the post,
but beyond that, yeah.
I think we woke up a bit
20 minutes in,
if I'm completely honest with you.
I think the only thing
I'd say I'm happy about
in the first half
was the decent moment of play.
But, you know, I think
Trossard was terrible today.
Big player, I love him,
but he was terrible.
But yeah, between Cedric,
Nelson and Nketiah,
that was one thing,
probably the only thing
I was happy about
in the first half
is that obviously
we've taken the lead.
We've done our thing.
We've kept it moving.
And at halftime,
my thoughts were
there's rusty touches out there.
PSV are putting
some lovely moves together.
I'm seeing them do flicks and stuff.
If it was Arsenal,
we'd be waffling.
I think, pardon me,
I don't want to see that.
I think there's too many flicks,
too easy for them to progress
from attack to defence.
I think we're too weak
on the transition
and I just don't think
we're good enough.
There's a number
of rusty touches.
We knew the changes
would affect how we're playing,
but reality is
I'm not trying to hear
none of that, if I'm honest.
Big up Eddie for scoring
and Cedric for his involvement
and obviously Nelson
for the assist.
At halftime, I am thinking
is it time to get waters
on Kyrgios getting stressed out?
You know, do you look
to bring on Declan Rice?
Kyrgios in a battle
with Bakayoko.
We simply need more
from everyone
and I think my centre-halves
are doing well.
In the second half,
I think PSV attacked
and started with intensity.
I think we were quite weak
on the transit
for the first part
of the second half.
I think we were very open.
I think we were going
through the motions.
I think we were quite weak
defensively.
I think there were too many gaps
and I think some players
were losing their discipline.
I do think Saliba could have
done better for the goal,
but obviously Cedric
equally as well
could have done a lot better
and I'm sure if I watch it again,
a lot of players
could have done a lot more
really and truly, you know.
And again, you know,
there was one effort
where in the second half,
I think it's hit the near pulse
of Ramsdale's
and on another day,
it trickles in.
So PSV could probably count
themselves unlucky
in that game, really.
I'll take the point
and keep it moving.
As I said,
on normal circumstances,
I would want a lot more.
I would say, you know,
for the squad players,
any time you get an opportunity,
you need to take it,
but they didn't.
Obviously, we would like
the depth so that
in an ideal world,
big up Sakho for not having
to come on,
but in an ideal world,
you wouldn't want Gabriel
to get significant minutes,
Saliba to get significant minutes.
You wouldn't want to bring on
the Benjamin White,
who's had his own injury issues
and Declan Rice.
But this is where we're at.
We know between January
and next summer,
for next season,
we need to address this depth.
I don't think the squad players
did well enough, really.
From the starters,
I think Nelson and Havertz
indirectly, Ramsdale
and obviously Saliba and Gabriel
did well.
Obviously, you know,
to be fair,
I think Trossart was terrible,
but, you know,
we haven't got our normal fullback.
So we knew our wingers
were going to drop deep.
Somehow, Nelson made it work,
to be fair with you.
I think Kyrgios really
in the waters.
I think Cedric has shown
why, you know,
he's on the peripheral
and probably lucky
that he won today.
Probably, you know,
like Charlie in a chocolate
vat, he probably won
a ticket to play today,
really and truly.
Big expectations on Trossart,
on Jorginho of various degrees.
Wanted a bit more from them.
Eddie and Ketty are going
through the motions
a bit in the game,
but I did think towards
the end of the game,
he won us some fouls.
And obviously he scored the goal.
And Eddie's just Eddie
in that regards.
But as I said, you know,
if you can't win, don't lose.
On another day, of course,
you know, I would have loved
to have got three points
and get some feel-good factor
going back into the
after the defeat to Aston Villa.
Of course, I think, you know,
we shouldn't have conceded.
I think we could have created
some more chances
and the opportunities we did have.
Kyrgios, where he's
went for the shot,
where he could have played Trossart.
Trossart, where you haven't
even put that in the back of the net
or find the teammate.
We could have nicked the game
and we probably should have.
But to be honest,
we can probably count
ourselves fortunate
that on another day, PSV could
score a lot more.
But both teams are through.
You know, we know
not only are we through,
we're not going to be challenged
for the top spot.
So it's not that it's a dead
rubber and complacency
and all of that.
But I don't think it's a game
to just be doing misery
and stuff like that.
What I would say is the squad
players fundamentally
did not take their opportunities,
bar the exception of Reece Nelson.
As I said, if you can't win, don't lose.
I'll take that.
I'll accept that.
I'll move with that.

And we go again against Brighton.
Simple as that.
Hopefully we can get three points.
Last two games haven't been
kind to us in all comps,
but we're through.
Obviously, the Champions League
campaign is done now until February.
We don't know what our form
is going to be like,
what players are going to be fit
or not fit, what the sentiment
around the club is going to be.
But we deal with that then,
and we're qualified.
You know, it could be worse.
We could be like Man United,
which at the time of making this vid,
I don't know if they're scoring or not,
but they probably need to win.
So that's what happens
when you start the Champions
League campaign well,
innit, like you get yourself,
you get it done.
But I do think this game
has highlighted that, again,
between January and next summer,
we need better squad players
so that the ceiling, you know,
if it's a thing where
Jesus, Zinchenko,
you know, kind of last season,
Tieni becomes a squad player.
If we're not bringing in players
that raise the level,
we need to make sure
the ceiling don't fall
because some of our squad players,
obviously they ain't played for a while.
They played with each other.
There's not really relationships.
They're going to be rusty.
And as I said, it's not a game
to be getting at anyone
and digging anyone out.
But yeah, man, it just,
yeah, we got through.
But on another day,
I'd have higher expectations.
But we keep it moving.
We've only lost one game
in the group, which we probably
should have done better against Lens.
We keep it moving to the
Brighton game at the weekend.
And, you know, we've already
got a condensed and congested
January period,
well, January period as well,
but I meant to say December.
Hopefully there's no injuries.
We go again at the weekend.
Let me know your thoughts on,
you know, your player ratings,
how you think we did
and everything Arsenal, PSV
and in general.
