10 Best HIDDEN GEMS to Visit in Europe 2024 ✈️ | Travel Guide 2024
So it's coming to 2024 and you're thinking about a destination for your next holiday,
so instead of going to some of the most popular
places in Europe, in this video we're going to take a look at some stunning hidden gems.
Okay folks, number one, La Manalo. This place is seriously off the beaten path and it is totally
worth the journey. It's located in the highlands of Iceland and it's known for its colourful
mountains and its hot springs, but this is perfect for those of you who love to hike.
La Manalo features many unique geological elements, including the hot and cold springs
that combine to create a warm brook where people can relax their tired limbs after a day of trekking.
And if you're feeling brave, you can take a dip in the hot springs. It's also a popular spot for
camping and there's even a hut where you can stay to really get the full experience. So as I mentioned
before, it's a perfect destination for those people who love to hike and who want to get away from the
and see Iceland's raw natural beauty.
So this is just a little taste of Ostuni, a very beautiful hilltop town and known for its striking
white buildings. So I believe this is another must if you want to walk around somewhere really
quiet, plenty of winding streets and alleyways, and I have to say that if you are planning on
visiting Puglia, then try not to only visit one town. There are a number of towns that are in
close proximity to each other, so make sure that you try to maximize the most of your holiday.
Bydgoszcz. Now this is a picturesque gem in the heart of Poland or maybe just towards the north
and it takes around three hours using the train from Warsaw. It's a good option for a weekend,
especially if you go with a family. You can visit the city's old town which is beautifully preserved
and it boasts a striking collection of gothic and baroque buildings. So head to the town square
and you can enjoy a lively atmosphere, plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from,
and I do have a recommendation of a restaurant you shouldn't go and a cafe that you should go,
but wait for that video which will be coming next this week. But the highlights of Bydgoszcz
would be to take a relaxing boat trip along the river to see a different viewpoint of the city.
So make sure you book a day in advance to get those perfect time slots,
but also the historic granaries of Mill Island. You'll see these unique 19th century structures
which have been transformed into cultural venues and a museum. Number four is Liechtenstein,
the sixth smallest country in the world with a total area of 62 square miles and a meager
population of just 38,000. It's even Europe's fourth smallest country and unfortunately the
second least visited country on the continent. Now Liechtenstein has a reputation for being just a
destination for day trips, a country where you would pop into just for a brief look around
or maybe spend a night, but not much more than that which is a shame because I think you could
spend a little bit more time and you might find it even better than what you thought.
But it's a country that's meant for hikers and I highly strongly definitely must do recommend
that you check out the Liechtenstein tourism board. The reason why is that it is a fantastic resource
for hikers going into the country so make sure you check that out before visiting because you
will get a lot of information from it. But to everyone else be prepared to spend a significant
situated in the Louvron region. You will find the pretty village of Roussillon and as you walk
around you'll feel the tight-knit maze of alleyways lined with plenty of shops and there's
actually ice cream shops which you should definitely try out for all other kind of
locally produced delicacies. So this is a great opportunity for you if you want a much,
if you want a quieter type of holiday. So if you're looking for French hidden gems this is a great one.
Next up is San Marino. Nestled in the heart of the Italian peninsula, San Marino is one of the
smallest nations worldwide but it's an ideal destination to reach from the nearby Emilia
Romania region because it's a fantastic day trip from the lively holiday resort of Rimini.
So if you are thinking about visiting soon one thing that I will say is definitely visit
out of season. Spring and definitely autumn you will probably have just a few tourists scattered
around walking through the medieval walls and the very tiny cobblestone streets walking through
all the markets. Number seven, the Azores. Now many people have been to different parts of Portugal
and the Algarve's reputation is that it has beautiful beaches and its fishing villages are
full of history but equally the Azores are just as amazing and much less populated. Comprising
of nine islands even the largest island San Miguel is full of sleepy towns and peaceful paradises.
Now a visit here you're much less likely to find the inflated prices and crowded centres
that have become the norm in areas like Albufeira. So just be sure to plan your flights to this
paradise in the Atlantic well in advance and I'm pretty sure you will enjoy a peaceful oasis that
is the Azores. Number eight, Ragusa. Ragusa is a town of two faces. Sitting on the top of the hill
is Ragusa Superiore. Busy workaday town with sensible grid pattern streets and all the trappings
of a modern provincial capital. While etched into its hillside further down is Ragusa Ibla.
Now this is a perfect destination for those of you who want a very heavy taste of Italy
but far quieter than the throngs of Rome. Number nine, Corsica Island. Corsica is an island that's
full of natural beauty and fascinating traditions but it's incredible to think that even today
the island can still feel like something of a hidden gem. Think about it, when have you ever
mentioned Corsica as a possible destination to visit? If you have comment below because I'll be
really surprised. So whether it's a long sandy beach, a dramatic mountain pass or a beautiful
hilltop village, a holiday here will be packed full of things to do. For example Bonifacio
or Bonifacio as what the Italians would say, is a town on the southern tip of the French island
and it's known for its lively marina and its medieval clifftop citadel which is really really
impressive. Number 10, Finicci. Now this is a lovely coastal settlement located just southwest
of the capital of Carpathos. It's mostly known for its fish taverns serving local delicacies
and delicious food. So if you are a foodie and especially a Greek foodie, you will enjoy this
location. So I think this is an excellent choice to spend your summer vacation especially if you're
going with family. And there you have it folks, those are the hidden gems for this year. Let me
know eventually in either Instagram or on YouTube if you manage to visit one of these locations.
That's it from me, as always be good, be kind and be careful. Peace!
