very drizzly today. Let's check back in with meteorologist Jessica Birch with a
look at the rest of this week's forecast. Hey, Jess. Yeah, it's a very
active afternoon for us here in the Bay Area with temperatures this afternoon,
only topping off in the fifties. I mean, our overnight lows dropped into the
forties and widespread throughout the Bay Area all throughout the Bay today
from San Jose off to Livermore, stretching up into San Francisco. We're
topping off in the upper fifties. So cool, damp and cloudy and a little bit
breezy for us today along the coast. Let's dive straight into that forecast
right now. As low pressure moves its way in from the Gulf of Alaska, that's
going to continue to bring in this cool, dense air. But of course, the rain with
it too. And that's what we're waking up to and dealing with all throughout this
afternoon today. As we zoom in just a little bit closer to home now, the
peninsula just got hit with some light drizzle. Now that same storm system is
continuing to track to the south areas like Hayward all the way down into the
Santa Clara Valley and right back up along 101 near Redwood City. That's
where we're seeing those light showers currently tracking as that moves its
way to the south. Now it will clear up within the next couple hours. We're left
with partly cloudy skies and clear conditions actually in the overnight
hours as we gear up for more rain that happens tomorrow in the mid afternoon
hours all throughout the evening hours tomorrow. Take a look at this. That
exact same storm system will continue to impact the Sierra to giving them some
snow up there. Sacramento Valley getting hit with rain and back here in
the Bay. We're seeing our taste of it, too. Now today, as we take it a step
back, it's been a pretty breezy day so far along our coastline. Wind speeds
later this afternoon, all the way up to around 30 MPH along our coastline.
It'll be a breezy afternoon along the coast, a lot lighter in our inland
areas, especially in areas like Fremont and San Jose, with it max around five
MPH wind gusts now already showed you your daytime highs today, but let's take
a quick look at what's happening as we head into the next seven days. I'm
gonna drop the map and I want to show you as we extend into this week's
forecast, it's gonna be interesting. We actually clear up pretty fast as we
head into Thursday. We're left with mostly sunny skies and then the clouds
slowly roll their way back in on Friday to gear up for more rain as we
head into this weekend. As early as Saturday, we're gonna talk more about
this coming up in a bit, but now I'm gonna send it back to you.
