#hertfordshirezoo
good morning everyone and thank you for
joining us for our first Facebook live
as har for chisu I'm going to be taking
you behind the scenes and some of the
projects we're doing at the moment and
also giving you some insightful updates
now I'm Tyler I'm one of the directors
here at the zoo but I'm also one of the
presenters on cbc's one Zoo 3 so if you
haven't seen it check it out and you'll
see all the amazing animals that we have
here at the zoo
now as you can see on the camera we've
actually started to change some of the
signage and branding around site from
Paradise Wildlife Park to H for chisu
now one of the most common questions I
get asked is why are you changing from
Paradise Wildlife Park to hot zoo in
general now Paradise wildli Park
obviously has a very rich history and it
actually my nan and Granddad Peter and
Grace Samson that founded the zoo
actually 40 years ago this year on the
1st of April which some people laugh
because obvious it's April Fool's Day so
we're lucky it's still actually going
because of that but anyway so the real
reasons for the name change is because
really Lally to Hartford sh we want to
align ourselves more closely with the
county and the community as a whole we
want to work more closely with being
more responsible sustainably uh
providing more insights into education
and we want to actually tell people more
about Wildlife as a whole and the reason
for the zoo well Zoo has a mixed
connotation and we actually want to be
explaining what good modern day zoos do
in terms of welfare for the animals
sustainability research and obviously
conservation don't forget as you can see
just some more branding taking place
there now follow me as we go this way as
we're walking over Jags you got any
questions from anyone listening uh how
long are you closed for so we are
currently closed and reopen on February
the 10th ready for half-term period so
all the exciting changes will or most of
the exciting changes will be ready by
then uh there'll be some projects still
going on at the time but our members if
you're a member we're actually looking
to open maybe a couple days early so you
can have exclusive access now just
coming through the first era hello jents
good
morning they're currently working on
revamping our Zoo shop as you can see in
here there's loads of work taking place
we're actually open it all up and we're
going to have some new exclusive
merchandise all branded up in the new
logos um but we're actually going to be
taking you through we're going to be
giving you personalized items but also
new branded merch in terms of the
hoodies uh even Cameron my little
brother also presting one Zoo free he
takes some incredible Wildlife photos of
the animals here at the zoo and around
the world and some of his photos will be
available in the store too so as you can
see the team is busy working really hard
obviously this is just one of the
projects we' got Stephan jod just under
here fixing up the tunnel ready for some
more of those magic photo moments with
the family now come around this way as
we go onto the animal park now which
animal does everyone want to meet what
are some of the requests coming through
take us to the Lions take it to the
Lions yes of course you got to meet the
king of paradise or king of heartfish
here now which is Moto the lion so
follow me through here now those these
guys are obviously developing the shop
but we
also so Jags just take a closer look of
just some of the hard work going
on so this is some exclusive behind the
scenes work that's taking place so thank
you for tuning in and joining us this
morning C and uh up on the screen
hopefully our team back in the office is
going to be be able to upload some cgis
of the work that's actually taking place
and what this shop is going to look like
now if you turn back around as you can
see here a world of
animals once again at half zooo rather
than parados wild left
Park small details but you know it's
going to be nice and impactful going
forward now as I was trying to say some
of the other projects we've got going on
we've got our new Gibbon project which
is s sound of the forest or song of the
forest sorry my mistake song of the
forest which obviously is emphasizing on
that incredible vocal sound that the
Gibbons make and if you've been here
before you know what it's like and
you'll hear Ethan from all around the
zoo we also have a new native species
Trail really highlighting the incredible
British species we have in this country
and raising awareness of what work we
can do to support them ah and there's
obviously a lot more projects going on
but I've got to stop there because we're
here to see our Lions good morning say
hello to everyone Jack's come right on
in now for all those obviously missing
the animals at home here's a bit of it
here's just a quick look in to what is
going on here obviously always relaxed
with all this work going on always still
relaxed and enjoying themselves here as
you see very cold lots of Frosty down
there but they're still getting on
really well but any more questions at
all before we finish up who's the line
back to
us that that is
Zuri couldn't tell back to
me are the Lions
happy yes the lions are really happy um
as you can see they're nice and settled
really relaxed as always as and if you
didn't know under here when we actually
built the habitat we actually put some
heated flooring in so in cold conditions
like this obviously they're found in
Africa we actually keep them nice and
warm so that's why they'll spend lots of
their time basking under here and that's
where you can come of meet them up nice
and close and
personal tell us about one Zoo 3 so one
Zoo 3 actually follows me and my two
brothers who have actually grown up and
live on site here at the zoo with all
the animals uh it takes you through kind
of the incredible obviously animal
personalities we have here at the zoo
but also down at the big cat sanctuary
our second charity down in Kent and you
also get to meet the teams that we have
both across both sites as well as all of
our different conservation Partners we
visit around the world and support
thanks to your help but any more
questions all Jags otherwise we're going
to finish there and leave everyone to
have a magical weekend next week oh next
week next week we actually have another
live stream coming up and that is for
our Gibbon Gibbon project oh you got to
tune in for that one because that
project is coming along really well and
it's looking incredible to be honest
with you everyone's going to be amazed
when they see it all finished up and
obviously Ethan is going to be flying
around his new habitat very soon but
thanks for tuning in and uh hopefully
we'll see you next time
bye-bye
