Bonjour, by the end of this video, I guarantee that you will be able to converse with me in French.
So, today we are going to practice a little dialogue together
and you will see, by the end of this video,
you will be able to speak French without even thinking about it.
So let's start.
I will be saying the text in red
and you will be saying the text in blue.
But first, I'm going to go through the full script with you
to help you with your pronunciation
And then, it will be your turn.
So, listen carefully the first time around.
So remember, I am red, you're blue.
OK, you don't need to do anything.
Just I'm going to read it out loud.
Here we go.
J'ai un entretien d'embauche dans une demi-heure.
Oh, super! C'est pour quel genre de travail?
Un job d'été.
Serveur dans un restaurant de plage.
C'est bien ça. Ça va te faire de l'expérience.
Merci. Est-ce que tu as des conseils à me donner?
Sois poli et confiant.
Explique que tu es très motivé.
Mais ne t'en fais pas, ça va aller.
Je vois. Merci.
Il faut aussi que tu penses à poser des questions
pertinentes à la fin de l'entretien.
Oui, tu as raison. Je vais essayer.
OK, this is quite a tough dialogue, OK?
But before we do this dialogue together,
let's go through each sentence once at a time
with the English translation.
Listen to the first sentence.
J'ai un entretien d'embauche dans une demi-heure.
Un entretien d'embauche is an interview.
Une demi is half, hour, hour.
I have an interview in half an hour.
Super, c'est pour quel genre de travail?
So this one is not hard to understand.
OK, great. What kind of job?
Oh, c'est pour, it is for, what kind of job?
Un job d'été, a summer job.
Serveur dans un restaurant de plage.
Waiter in a beach restaurant.
To this, we say,
Ah, c'est bien ça. Ça va te faire de l'expérience.
OK, that's good.
You will get some experience.
So as in, you're going to gain a lot of experience
by doing this waiter's job on a restaurant beach.
Merci, est-ce que tu as des conseils à me donner?
Thanks, do you have any advice to give me?
So donner des conseils is to give an advice or advice.
Conseiller is the verb to advise.
The conseil is, sois poli et confiant.
Explique que tu es très motivé,
mais ne t'en fais pas, ça va aller.
Be polite and confident, well done.
Explique and explain
that you are very motivated.
OK, explique que tu es très motivé.
Mais ne t'en fais pas.
Now, ne t'en fais pas is an expression
which means don't worry.
We could have said,
Ne t'inquiète pas or t'inquiète.
Ne t'en fais pas.
Don't worry about it.
OK, ne t'en fais pas.
Ça va aller.
It's going to be fine or OK.
It will be fine, OK.
Ça va aller.
You know, ça va?
Yes, I'm OK.
Ça va aller.
It's going to go well.
Ça va aller.
Je vois.
Merci.
I see.
Thank you.
Il faut aussi que tu penses à poser
des questions pertinentes
à la fin de l'entretien.
You should.
Il faut.
OK, it is necessary that.
Que tu penses.
You should also remember.
Tu penses à poser.
You think that.
To ask relevant questions
at the end of the interview.
So, la fin de l'entretien.
Tu as raison.
Je vais essayer.
Now, avoir raison, again,
is an expression that means
to be right, OK.
Avoir tort.
To be wrong.
Now, you're right.
Tu as raison.
And we use it with the verb avoir.
Avoir raison.
You're right.
I'm going to try.
Je vais essayer.
So, this one is not too hard, OK.
OK, how are we feeling
about this?
It's quite long.
But shall we try together?
Let's do this.
Are you ready?
I am in red
and you're going to be blue.
So, I start.
Here we go.
Je commence.
J'ai un entretien d'embauche
dans une demi-heure.
Un job d'été.
Serveur dans un restaurant de plage.
Merci.
Est-ce que tu as des conseils
à me donner?
Je vois.
Merci.
Oui, tu as raison.
Je vais essayer.
Now, what I'd like to do
is try the other way round.
This time, I say the blue bit
but you are going to say the red bit.
So, you are going to go first.
Are you ready?
Vous êtes prêts?
Allez, tu commences.
Oh, super!
C'est pour quel genre de travail?
Oh, c'est bien ça.
Ça va te faire de l'expérience.
Sois poli et confiant.
Explique que tu es très motivé
mais ne t'en fais pas, ça va aller.
Il faut aussi que tu penses
à poser des questions pertinentes
à la fin de l'entretien.
Now, how do you feel about this dialogue?
Remember that you can watch this video again,
practice with friends,
practice with your teacher,
invert the roles if you want.
It's fun.
Why don't you have a look
at other dialogue videos
that I have created just for you?
Right here, somewhere here.
Remember to comment, subscribe
and practice this dialogue with me.
Au revoir, à bientôt.
Bisou, bisou.
