all right team so today I thought I'd do
more of like a chill out sort of Life
Update Style video where I talk about
what's been going on recently I've had a
few issues with my health that could be
potentially quite serious so I thought
I'd go over that in a video just to keep
everybody updated so no one gets any
misinformation but the gist of things is
I just want to have a little update and
just have a little chat with the guys
and talk to you guys about what I plan
to do for skateboarding in this next
year what my situation with my health is
at the minute so with all that being
said let's start off with the year plans
now the yearly plans are simple we're
flying to Amsterdam in about 5 days from
now we're going to start filming the
street part at the moment my health is
on the outside completely fine but I had
a slight issue about a few months ago
because and by the way this is going to
give you a great lesson to learn always
wear sunscreen because when I was
traveling around last year throughout
the summer all this that and the other I
always went out and every time I would
use sunscreen it would just give me a
terrible sunburn so I never used it
right and then at the end of the summer
a spot showed up on my face which is
this spot right here you can't see it
extremely well on the camera but it's
been there for about five six months at
this point and at that point I was like
okay cool going to do a bit of Googling
try and find out what it is which bear
in mind you know how that leads right
basically everywhere you look on Google
will tell you you've got some form of
cancer and that you're going to die in 3
months but don't worry it's not quite
that drastic however when I went to the
doctors for it they had a little look at
it didn't really do much at all and it's
worth noting as well I had this lump on
my throat like right here you can't see
it again very well on the camera but it
sticks out quite a lot in person and the
two Associated could be quite severe if
it's if the two are associated the
doctor first off told me when I went to
my first appointment that the two aren't
Associated which is good you could
either have melanoma or basil cell
carcinoma which is the two things they
told me I could potentially have the
first one melanoma is the more dangerous
version they're both skin cancers but
melanoma is a lot
more dangerous for metastasizing
different tumors as opposed to Basil
cell carcinoma which is a fairly if not
the lightest version of cancer you can
get it's basically diet cancer and what
they do for that one is when the spots
show up they can just whip them off take
a bit of the skin out so it doesn't keep
growing underneath but rarely rarely
ever will they ever metastasize into
tumors melanoma is a bit more dangerous
it has a slightly lower life expectancy
rate but again it's the same sort of
thing lumps and bumps appear on the skin
you go to the hospital they remove it
but it does have a slightly higher
chance of becoming like a tumor on the
inside or whatever but anyway I had this
appointment they told me it could be one
or the other so she was like right we're
going to give you an x-ray for your
chest because that could potentially
figure out where this like lump in my
throat is coming from alongside the spot
so I got up to the I switch Hospital
right which bear in mind is an hour from
where I live I had to take a day off
work Holly had to take a day off work so
already we're out two shifts right we go
up to hospital wait there for an hour
get sat down get put into the gowns for
the X-ray all that all the standard
Hospital procedure stuff we then sit
down a doctor comes around the corner
and walks up to me and
goes so are you here for an x-ray and I
was like yeah I've got the text here
that says I should be here for an x-ray
at this time to which he says to me the
doctor that saw you first I don't think
she really had any idea what she was
talking about because you shouldn't be
here for a check chest x-ray you should
be here for an ultrasound
so already we've had two shifts wasted
I'm I'm worried and boooking out about
if I've got cancer or not and this
doctor is sending me to the wrong place
wasting days of time when if this was a
real serious situation that could have
been a real hiccup in the treatment
process but anyway so I leave I get a
phone call they say right we want to
come to we want you to come to the
Dermatology apartment so we can look at
the spot in your face I do that I get
there I explain what the doctor in L
which is where I originally went told me
they told me that it's not melan M they
would put all their money on it not
being melanoma which is cool that's a
good thing right still don't know what
the lump on my throat is about but the
spot they've pretty much told me that
it's almost anything but confirmed that
it's basil cell
carcinoma which is still a version of
cancer but it's very very light version
of cancer and I've not had the full
diagnosis yet but this is what the two
other doctors that I've seen most
recently told me that they believe it is
now I've still got to go and have
checkups to find out what this lump is
in my throat because I've been getting
like chest pains and headaches a little
bit as well so it's been quite a
stressful situation when you've been
told that you might have multiple types
of cancer and then online it says like
if this thing is associated with the
spot it could be a really deadly type of
cancer so my God has it been a stressful
couple of weeks but anyway I'm still
keeping up with the content schedule I'm
still planning on uploading something
every day for the foreseeable future
even dur while we're in Amsterdam I'm
going to do a bulkload of filming and
while I'm there Holly's going to batch
edit and get them up while I get to work
on the street part starting in Amsterdam
this year after that I think we're going
to travel around a few other places but
to be honest it's all dependent on how
this health situation goes and by the
way the one lesson you can take away
from this they told me that this whole
situation could have been avoided if I
just wore skin sunare cream all the time
so if you're out in Sun wherever it may
be do not be an idiot like me and think
you're invulnerable because trust me it
will catch up to you and for me it
certainly has and I and you best believe
that I'm not going to be forgetting Sun
cream anytime soon other than that my
foot is almost completely better I would
say it's like 99.9% fine but every time
I land a bit dodgy on a trick it does
hurt other than that the health
situation is okay like apart from the
worry and stress which I think is the
main thing about like these kind of
diagnosis it's just sitting there
wondering what you've got I think for me
personally if they were like okay right
you've got this you've got even if they
told me I've got a couple years to live
I would be fine with that at least I
know what's going on and I can deal with
that as it comes as opposed to something
like this where I'm like do I have this
do I have not and then even then in the
back of my mind because they're messing
up so much already I'm thinking they
could even be wrong and I could have
like one of the worst ones and just
becomes a negative feedback loop of
you're telling yourself you're iller
than you are you start to feel things in
weird places anyway I'm ranting
basically the gist of things are is I'm
all right for now I will give you guys
an information update once I know more
as soon as I get this official diagnosis
fingers crossed it is basil cell
carcinoma so it is cancer but it's a
very very minor form of cancer so we
should be all right and the plans for
this year's skateboarding should be
going ahead completely as planned but I
felt like I should give you guys an
update on the whole situation that's
pretty much it love and I'll see you
soon
