Mr Speaker would you ask the clerk to report house committee substitute one clerk please report house committee substitute one to Senate joint resolution 17 General from Spencer members uh I'm sure you're aware that earlier in this session we passed three bills amending KRS 164 that dealt with for comprehensive universities and the possibility of them uh adapting and studying uh moving forward on offering doctoral programs House Bill 400 dealt with a uh possibility of veterinary school at mury State House Bill 43 dealt with osteopathic medicine at EKU and House Bill 630 dealt with uh allowing WKU to offer five programs uh what this bill does or this resolution would do it would direct CPE to do a feasibility study of each University with with the committee sub it's changed somewhat where that uh there will be priority GI to those three institutions that I mentioned uh and have evaluation the potential expansion or creation of a post bacular offering at comprehensive universities shall include but not be limited to the following factors to inform a recommendation to the general assembly on whether to pursue the postbac initiative uh and there are several factors in there but one of the key would be the workforce needs of the area of the comprehensiv uh that's a change the committee sub Mr Speaker I move for adoption house committee sub one motions for the adoption house committee substitute one is there any discussion the committee substitute see none those in favor signify by voting I those oppose nay house committee substitute one is adopted gentleman from Spencer Mr Speaker as I mentioned this would have CPE do a feasibility study they would contact each of our comprehensive universities we have six across the Commonwealth and and do an evaluation in a study on the feasibility of offering post uh graduate degrees at our comprehensive universities come back with a recommendation speaker I move for adoption Senate joint resolution is amended by house committee sub one
