Hello there guys! Welcome back to my channel Travel Wonderfunk. Hello my wonderful people,
how are you? Yes, as the title of this video says, we are in Japan,
one of the most incredible cities in the whole world because if it blends of tradition, culture
and cutting-edge high technology. So in this video I want to show you our first impressions.
We literally arrived a few minutes ago to our hotel after nearly 24 hours traveling,
very very very tiring trip but we are finally here and I want to show you the first impressions
of what we think. We are currently in Asakusa, one of the most traditional parts of Tokyo because
we have here the oldest temple from all Japan which is the temple Senso-ji which takes back
to the year 628 AD, so a very old temple and as you can see even though it's night time there's
a lot of people coming here to see all the incredible things that this palace temple has
to offer, so let's have a look together. Here pretty much everyone comes, you put 100 yen,
I'm gonna be showing you what it's like. The people need to put 100 yen, then take this metal
thing in which they need to shake it and then after they shake it they take the stick from the
inside as you can see some people are doing it and then the number that appears you need to see it
and then you from one of these little drawers you take it and it's gonna give you a message,
if the message is good you keep it with you, if the message is bad you need to put it on that part
over there so that the good luck and good energy of the palace will put it away, so as you can see
it says here only if you had a bad fortune put it over here, so let's see what else this temple
has to offer, so let me show you in this part over here we got the part in which people come
and they you know take the whole smoke that comes from there and this is meant to purify yourself
so when you come here make sure you smell it and you take all the good energy of this so this is
one of the attractions luckily it's not so many people doing it right now so I'm about to purify
myself so like this we're gonna draw all the good energy to us so make sure you do it when you come
here to the Sensuji temple and if we go behind we got this line in which a lot of people is actually
queuing right now in there they go over there and they pay their tributes and they make their
praying as well and we're gonna see what it's like so as I was saying people here comes and
queue over here to pay their tributes and make a praying you need to leave some coins
it's preferably so that the luck will be always with you apart from the sacred smoke we got also
here this sacred fountain and as you can see there is a little bit of water coming out of the
mouth of the dragon so it is said that this water is meant to purify yourself so whoever drink it
will purify themselves so I just took a little bit of water and I'm gonna be purified right behind me we
got more dragon fountains that are meant to purify yourself so this is meant to be sacred water coming
from the Sensuji temple so let's try it so like this we are purified so make sure you come and
purify yourselves at the Sensuji temple in Tokyo so after exploring the beautiful temple of Asakusa
Sensuji temple we got very very hungry so I was trying to try something here in Japan so this is
gonna be our first meal here so far my impression is that it's so modern so clean and so beautiful
with a lot of traditional architecture as the Sensuji we just saw and well we came to this
place in which we have like the grill here and they cook the food in front of us we needed to
like a wait list outside and yeah it's been you know pretty nice experience what do you guys
think so far of Japan amazing so these are my friends that I came with here to Japan
she's Joanna and Christian and they are both single so make sure you follow them okay
so looking forward to try the food here and as I was saying at the beginning of this video it was
nearly 24 hours since we started this journey so we are really tired so as soon as we arrived to
the hotel we had a little rest and it was already night time but to give you an idea we left around
six in the morning from London we did 12 hours flight until China Shanghai and then we did a
three-hour layover to come to Tokyo just being very tired I got to say that the flight was really
good like we took this company that we never tried before it's called Air China and the flight was
really good to give you an idea it was only 600 US dollars we paid 490 pounds and it was really
good really good experience with this airline and yes looking forward to show you more experiences
here in Japan I'm gonna be showing you later what it's like our hotel as well and yeah in
the meantime we are so hungry and we are waiting for the food we got a little bit scared because
we saw people that were cooking by themselves but the woman said she's gonna come and cook for us
so yes so our drinks have arrived and it seems like some of the food have arrived as well in the
meantime let's see what it's like they're gonna start preparing it so some octopus have arrived
to our table and as you can see it's just starting to grill we need to start making it shortly
and our drinks have arrived as well we've got here this drink which is typical from here
from Japan especially in Tokyo which is called Hoppy and it's mixed with a distilled
drink from here alcoholic which is called Chochu and it's meant to replace the beer
I have tried it now but I got to say I prefer the beer it's not bad but I prefer the beer
and I got here the Sapporo beer that I just ordered
very refreshing and in the meantime waiting for the rest of our food
and seeing this lovely octopus to grill so after the octopus we receive now the
noodles the seafood noodles so we're gonna try looks yummy yummy so this one has prawns
octopus some vegetables as well and they put some sort of brown sauce which apparently is typical
over here and some spices as well so let's try so I got to say that the noodle is so delicious
I really really like it it's a different style to what I've tried in the past the food is really
good over here we're waiting for some more actually so good so for the next dish we got
here the Okonomiyaki which is a typical Japanese teppanyaki pancake which consists of wheat flavor
and it can be with seafood meat cabbage so let's try I actually never tried Okonomiyaki before
so let's see what it's like so let's try the Okonomiyaki which is a typical dish from here
in Japan so let's see what it's like let me take a little bit please forgive me I'm not
an expert with a chopstick I'm trying my best so don't judge me guys I like the flavor
something different I can feel the cabbage I can feel the prawns really good even a little bit of
octopus they say this is a pancake but it does not look and taste like a pancake at all but it's
really really good guys you got to try Okonomiyaki if you come to Japan something totally different
this is meant to be a portion for one person I'm so full already after the noodles I tried
really good that was our experience guys eating at this restaurant located here in Asakusa
the name of the restaurant is called Okohe they were very funny because when I asked
what's the name of the restaurant they gave me this card which obviously says the name
of the restaurant but I'm like okay I don't know how to read this so that was funny I got to say
the food was really good and in my opinion it was not expensive at all so we paid for all of that
around 9,000 yen so yeah I'll leave you the conversion here in US dollars anyway but I
got to say for three people including drinks all the food that we ate and they make over there for
you on the grill it's really good price so and now we are walking on the streets here of Asakusa
got to say it's very very interesting because you got the full traditional
Japan experience obviously with the sensor G look we even got some ninjas here outside
called ninja here I don't know what he said but he's a ninja
yeah lots of people are still eating at this time roughly around 10 o'clock really really cool
and obviously if you come during the night time you've got to come on the morning time as well
as it gives you a different perspective of what it looks like the sensor G temple so last night
we were really really tired and literally after our dinner we went to Don Quijote as you saw it
and then we went literally to sleep this morning I was like okay before we do what we're gonna do
today I have to come to sensor G temple to see what it looks like during the morning and even
though I come first thing in the morning it's already a good amount of people over here obviously
the people shaking over there with the checking their fortune that we did last night here the
sacred smoke which is just starting to come out sacred fountain a lot of people trying the water
I can see that there is more than last night and obviously the main sensor G temple over here
I see there is even people cleaning yeah very beautiful from the morning it's a very beautiful
day today in Japan so we just entered to the main part of the sensor G temple and we can see that
already there is a good amount of people here paying tributes to this amazing buddhist temple
that dates back to 600 to 880 and it's really really really beautiful look at the paintings
on the ceilings so interesting and here people lift the coins pretty much like how we did last night
and they pray as well and it's that the whole surroundings of this incredible Asakusa temple
are extremely beautiful everywhere you walk into you see incredible architecture traditional
Japanese architecture as I said before dates back to 648 AD so a long long time ago
and look how it perfects its maintains so beautiful guys so it's important to note that this
temple is dedicated pretty much to the goddess of mercy which is called Kanon so it is said that
whoever pays tributes to this goddess will have taken away all the pain and conflicts in their life
but look at this pond over here wow so so incredible guys you got to come to sensor G and to Asakusa
so guys look at this there was only a few people when I arrived around quarter to eight in the
morning and now it's half past eight and look so many so many people arriving and I can see much
more just heading this way so my advice to you if you want to come to the sensor G temple and take
nice pictures videos come very early in the morning I wanted to come even earlier but I was
extremely tired because of the obviously the whole 24 hours trip we had yesterday so come in the morning
guys and wow look at this guys to take a picture over here by the main entrance of this part going
towards the sensor G temple we caught a big queue of people just waiting to take a picture
over there we took a picture last night and we didn't have to queue nothing so
if you want to do it during the daytime you might have need to queue
but if you come very early as I said before you don't
and I want to also show you in this video of first impressions of Tokyo my hotel which is
and it's literally about 10 minutes walk to the sensor G temple one of the most important
landmarks of all Tokyo and why I chose this one is because the quality price in my opinion was
very good and I'm gonna show you my room in just one moment but remember guys that you have enjoyed
so far this video make sure you give a like right now activate notifications subscribe to the channel
if you're not subscribed already so let's go to show you what it's like the hotel so as I say it's
located in the heart of Asakusa and I will tell you how much I paid very shortly so quite modern
on the inside looks pretty beautiful there's some people leaving luggage here let's just wait for
the elevator so I am on the floor number 14 and I'm about to show you my room here in Asakusa
so then you can tell me whether it's worth it or not how much I paid for staying in Japan
so as you can see go here the corridor something very important to know is that we got a spa
which is has like hot spring which is like a jacuzzi sort of we might say we go here like
a microwave as well area vending machines obviously and yeah let me show you
where it's like the vending machine for drinks so we go here the vending machine for drinks
so we have 5 million of them all over Tokyo so one of them is located here
got ice machine and microwave so that's pretty convenient guys so this is my room 1404 let me
show you what it's like with the key inside so obviously it's not made as I just used it
last night but yeah this is my bed over here got a window over there tv desk there is not a lot of
space to put the luggage so for me one luggage is enough just move it a little bit over here
so the desk can control here all the air conditioning the lights as well yeah you go
here I think this is like a hidden place to put the clothes like some hangers let me show you the
toilet you got the typical Japanese toilet in which you control the water pressure you don't
like to clean yourself and small bath over here so the price that I paid for this was
80,000 yen Japanese yen for one week I'll leave you here the conversion but that's roughly
around 450 pounds so it's not bad at all so yes so my first impressions of Tokyo
are really really good and I'm enjoying so far a lot even though I'm tired
but yeah it will be until the next video guys we're gonna be showing you a lot a lot of Tokyo
and a lot of Japan so make sure you subscribe and I will be seeing you in the next video guys
travel wonderful
