is a career in car sales in 2024 really worth it for you my name is Christopher from Cars unlock let's jump into it welcome back to the channel guys if you guys don't know me already my name is Christopher and I have this Channel Cars unlock but I've worked in the automotive industry for over 10 years and the question I've been getting so much is now with how the market is going with things moving more to online is starting a career at a young age as a car salesman is it really worth it a lot of people people have concerns that this job is going to fizzle out and I wanted to address that right now because if you're searching for a job in car sales that's probably at the top of your mind and let me talk to you about it so the answer to your question is hard to determine however I do think it's certainly worth getting a career in car sales or P pursuing a career in car sales me personally I started this role in about 2013 and I was able to use this as a career to buy a house pay off my student loan debts pay off my bills and provide a financial structure for my family I think it's still doable to this day yes Car Sales have switched to a lot of online and internet kind of purchases but they still need that car sales associate to facilitate this and you guys got to understand every person in Canada or America they need a car not every person but majority of them need a car so the fact that the car sales career is never going to go away I think that's ludicrous it's always going to be here it's just like if you are in phone sales every person in Canada and in the US has a phone in their pocket so that job is always going to have some sort of demand the industry might change and the way you approach that role and how that role kind of changes over time but there's always going to be a need for that role and my role here in car sales has evolved over time I've certainly gone away from a lot of one-on-one interactions and I'm doing more online purchases where we out the master class if you are looking to get a career in 2024 basically what you need to know is you need to be a little techsavvy you need to be able to use computers you need to have customer service skills and you need to really be approachable and you need to be able to quickly make a connection with people that's the main thing in 2024 whether it be in person or online you're going to be doing a lot more online and that's kind of the biggest change that I've noticed the car sales career is always going to be here guys do not let that get in your head a lot of people ask me in my DMs they say like hey I want to get a job in car sales I just think with the future and how everything is moving my job is going to become obsolete or Irrelevant in the next decade or the next 15 years maybe that's true maybe that's not true I don't think it's true but listen this is the most important thing if you gain the experience and gain the knowledge of what it takes to be a strong salesperson those are skills that are going to translate to any career in your life so maybe let's say hypothetically again my personal opinion I don't think this is going to happen but let's say hypothetically you get a job in car sales today 20 years from now dealerships move all to online and every car salesman's job is obsolete you might be wondering oh I'm stuck however all the skills that you learned as a car salesman will translate to the job in any sales job so you'll be able to take your application and find a different job in sales no problem and you'll be able to excel at that job very very quickly I don't think you'd be starting a career all over guys sales is sales once you learn how to sell one product you can learn how to sell another product and I think just the skills that you will learn by doing this job for two years three years four years 5 years 10 years 15 years are going to translate to any other career that you want to pursue so to answer your question guys yes it is still lucrative and it is still a great career choice in 2024 and when I say lucrative what I mean by that is you can make a substantial income we know a lot of people that are beginner car salesmen and they're making 70 to 100 Grand a year usually around year two or three is when sales people start cracking the $100,000 mark So if you think about that there's not many jobs that you can jump into fresh out of high school school with no experience and you're making like 70 to 100 Grand right away so I would certainly say that it is still a viable career choice in 2024 if
