Thanks for watching the video NBA Trade Machine | Blockbuster NBA Trades That Must Happen!
Hey, get that bag, Toretto.
It's FYF Sports, man. It's Lamont.
We back with another special edition podcast video.
I mean, we eight days away from the NBA draft.
Cannot wait. We're going to see a lot of trades,
potential trade scenarios.
And you know what we're here to do
is we're here to discuss some of those trade scenarios
where we'd like to just kind of bring
a little bit more realism to them
based on what these teams can and cannot do.
We like to take factors in,
such as the need of both teams,
salary cap, infrastructure, all of that.
So we're going to be getting in that today
in depth, in detail.
Before we get started,
make sure you guys like, comment, subscribe.
Hit the notification bell to the video
if you have not done so already.
We grinding.
All right, we have 15K.
Next goal is the 20K.
All right, so continue to share the videos.
I see it every time you share on your Snap stories,
on Instagram, on Twitter.
I see it all.
So again, I appreciate everybody
that's been sharing our videos.
I think last month we had over 5,000 shares.
I mean, that's ridiculous right there.
That means so many of you guys are sharing the videos.
All right, well, we need more than that.
It doesn't cost a penny.
Just make sure you share the videos.
If you see something that you like,
put it out there so we can get more engagement,
more fans over here to FYF Sports,
chiming in on some of these sports talks.
But today we got some news out of the NBA.
We're going to be breaking down
some of these trade scenarios.
I have about five to six different trade scenarios
that I think will happen
and will affect the NBA draft.
All right, and so again,
some of these trades, they may not happen.
Some of these trades may happen.
I'm just kind of giving you some trades,
some looks that I think will benefit both teams
and both parties involved.
And you know, we're just going to go ahead
and get over to the,
we're going to go ahead and get over here
to the big board
because I really want to jump into this early.
My first trade scenario, man,
is with a guy, Buddy Hill.
We know Buddy Hill absolutely wants out of Sacramento.
He lost his starting job.
He lost that starting position to Bogdan Bogdanovich
and he was relegated to the bench.
His numbers dropped, his production dropped.
He wasn't happy.
He's not getting along with Luke Walton.
We know that he wants out of Sacramento.
And here's the proposed trade that I've made right here.
I mean, this trade, I think it works for both teams
and I'm going to tell you why.
We're looking at a Grizzlies team
that desperately needs more three-point shooting,
especially to put it alongside John Morant.
All right, John Morant is a guard in this league
that he's great.
He's great at attacking.
He's okay with the mid-range.
He can get to the basket anytime he wants.
The floater's great.
He's a great passer.
He's just struggling shooting the ball.
John Morant is not a great three-point shooter, right?
They need more floor spacing.
And as far as good as Dylan Brooks was
alongside of John Morant,
Dylan Brooks was not a floor spacer.
Dylan Brooks is a high-volume scorer
who needs the ball in his hands a lot
to really get real work done.
All right, Buddy Hill is a catch-and-shoot type of player.
He doesn't need a lot of dribbles to be effective.
And he can allow, he can work effectively
with a John Morant and they can be a great pair.
And that could be one of the best backcourts in the NBA
because one has one job, the other has another job
and they kind of do what the other doesn't.
So I think that in and of itself would be great.
Now, the cost, the cost for the Grizzlies
to get a Buddy Hill is gonna be great
because you have to make the money work.
You have to make the money work.
And the trade that I propose,
it's gonna be three players for one.
Kyle Anderson, Grayson Allen, and Dylan Brooks
for Buddy Hill.
Now, Dylan Brooks is gonna hurt the most.
You letting Dylan Brooks walk is really,
really gonna hurt that Memphis Grizzlies team.
But at the end of the day,
you gotta think about the long-term impact.
I mean, on paper, it looks worse than what it actually is.
I think this trade could benefit not only the Grizzlies,
it benefits the Kings as well, all right?
Because the Kings, they need more wing scoring,
they need more athleticism, they need more defense.
And I think these three players,
Dylan Brooks, Grayson Allen, and Kyle Anderson
could help bring some of that.
Now, I think Kyle Anderson's that wildcard type of player
that could just maybe be thrown in
just to make the trade work.
I've been hearing that the Memphis has kind of,
they've been wanting to shake
that Kyle Anderson contract for a while.
There just haven't been too many suitors
that wanna take on his close to $10 million
over the next two years.
I think the Kings have salary cap space to take that on
without it being too much of a cap hit.
Grayson Allen, he's outplayed the value of his contract.
I think Grayson Allen with Bogdan Bogdanovich
possibly leaving in free agency
and Buddy Hill leaving via trade,
that shooting guard spot is gonna be wide open
for Dylan Brooks and Grayson Allen to operate.
So I think that's gonna benefit those two guys the most.
So this is the first trade that I see here.
We got Buddy Hill for Dylan Brooks,
Grayson Allen and Kyle Anderson
where the Kings look like they're sacrificing a lot.
But ultimately in reality,
these three players right here
actually gives the Kings a plus three
in increased projected wins.
So I think the Kings will come out the winners in this trade,
but it definitely will help the Grizzlies as well
because they can solve the problem of spacing.
Let's get on to trade.
Number two.
All right, so next up right here,
this trade I created, man, a little bit more unique.
It would be a massive,
this would be considered a block buster trade.
It would be considered a block buster trade
where you got big time players moving
and I think it works for all parties involved
and I'll explain it to you right now.
All right, so we have a three team trade.
All right, where we have a lot of players
and a lot of picks getting shifted around.
All right, so I'll tell you the focal points
of this trade right here.
The focal point of this trade,
it's gonna be Drew Holiday, CJ McCullough
and Victor Oladipo.
Those are the focal points,
but you gotta understand
when we're dealing with those three players
all making over 20 million a year,
we gotta find a way to make it work.
We gotta find a way to make it work
and it has to benefit every single team
to a certain degree.
It has to work for every team involved.
So I'm gonna talk about the first team
involved in this trade.
All right, so in this potential trade right here,
it involves the Pacers, the Pelicans
and the Blazers, all right?
We know the Pelicans have a lot of available cap.
The Blazers don't have a lot of available cap.
They're actually over the cap.
So they have to make the money work
within a certain value
and the Pacers have a little cap space to work with.
So the numbers just have to be close.
So we're looking at the players
that the Pacers will receive.
The Pacers will receive Zach Collins
from the Blazers,
Drew Holiday from the Pelicans
and Trevor Ariza
and his expiring one year contract
from the Blazers
along with the 2021 first round draft pick
and a 2020 first round draft pick,
the number 13 pick,
which is gonna be that Pelicans pick, remember?
And in our draft video,
if you haven't seen it yet,
we talk about that draft pick potentially.
The Pelicans will receive Myles Turner
and we know they need more defense
at the center spot.
They're desperately looking for a center.
You get CJ McCollum,
you know, they need scoring, all right?
Especially if you're gonna allow Lonzo,
if you want Lonzo to be that true point guard,
you can relieve and help space the court
by bringing in a lights out score
like CJ McCollum.
And they have the cap space
to take on his contract, all right?
So you're bringing in Myles Turner
to fill the center position, CJ McCollum.
They get a 2020 second round pick, all right?
The Blazers would get Josh Hart.
They need more defense on the perimeter.
Josh Hart instantly brings that.
Victor Oladipo.
Victor Oladipo is gonna bring you
a little bit more defense.
And again, the pairing of Damian and CJ
is not gonna work.
That's the worst defensive backcourt in the NBA.
And by bringing in Josh Hart
and Victor Oladipo,
along with TJ Warren,
you're giving that Blazers squad
a little bit more of a defensive punch
to put alongside Damian Lillard, all right?
So now you have more volume
to play around with, all right?
Now, Zach Collins,
you have to give up your young big,
but Zach Collins, who's been injured,
he's dealt with a number of injuries.
It's kind of affected the Blazers, all right?
So I don't mind them necessarily
partnering with Zach Collins,
especially now that you have a young guy
in Winyan Gabriel who's shown you
that he has the potential
to kind of fill in that spot
and be a defensive big
or defensive anchor,
similar to what Collins can do.
TJ Warren is gonna come in.
He can bring you instant impact scoring
off the bench as a sixth man,
or you can start him
and he can fill Trevor Reese's role.
Again, what you're doing
is you're putting more around Damian Lillard.
He has more options, more scoring.
It alleviates a lot of pressure
off of Damian Lillard
offensively and defensively.
Now, the Blazers will get a 21, 20, 21,
protected, top 10 protected pick
from the Pacers.
They will get from via New Orleans,
they will get a 20, 20 second round pick
that's coming from Washington.
All right, so I really like
this trade scenario right here.
It's kind of confusing to,
you know, digest it right here,
but I really think
that this trade right here
works for all teams involved.
And I love it for the Pacers, all right?
I love it for the Pacers
because you're bringing in Zach Collins
to put it alongside Sabonis, all right?
We know that things,
that pairing with Myles Turner
and Sabonis just really wasn't
meshing too well with the Pacers.
TJ Warren, I know the Pacers
are looking to move on from him,
although he had a great playoff,
a great run in the NBA bubble.
And then we know Oladipo
on the last year of his contract
has been looking to get out of Indiana.
He wants to be traded.
So you kind of give everybody
what they want.
The Blazers will unfortunately
have to part with CJ McCullough,
but the Pelicans would definitely
gain a lot in this.
They can fill some major voids
in that roster,
especially defensive
at the center position.
The Pacers would get better
and they would get draft picks.
I think this trade works for everybody.
I really want you guys to chime in
on this trade right here.
I'm really curious to see
what you guys have to say
about this trade right here,
because this could be a major
blockbuster move.
And what happens is,
and what this will allow
for the Blazers to do,
and I really project this happening,
what this allows the Blazers to do
is this trade frees up enough salary cap
for the Blazers to go sign a Jeremy Grant
on a four-year deal,
making 12 million a year.
I can honestly see that happening.
All right.
So keep your eye on these.
Keep your eye on these
potential moves right here,
because I think all of these teams
right here are going to be
active participants in NBA trades.
Not sure if it's going to happen this way,
but I like what this trade does
for every team involved,
on top of the fact that the money works.
It makes the money work
and the draft picks
give teams a little wiggle room as well.
All right. So we got our next trade right here.
Again, I just wanted to give it
a more unique look.
Kind of wanted to play around with it.
And then I also wanted to consider
some realism in it too,
based on what teams need,
what players are actually out there
in the trade market.
And when I put this together
and I saw that it could work,
you know, I was like,
yeah, I like this look.
I like this look
and it actually makes sense.
Now the Blazers are going to be
giving up a lot.
But again, the guys that they're giving up
are not necessarily guys
that added death to the roster.
So we got a three team trade
between the Pelicans,
the Blazers and the Spurs
as a blockbuster trade.
This would be considered
another blockbuster trade.
And I definitely see this trade
making the Blazers
instant contenders for the West.
Instant contenders for the West
if they could pull a trade
of this magnitude off.
All right.
Now this trade would send Rodney Hood
coming back from an Achilles tear
and CJ McCollum to the Pelicans.
Again, we know that would instantly
make the Pelicans better.
He's a more dynamic guard
than Drew Holiday
with regards to scoring the ball.
I know that's the type of player
that they want to put around
Lonzo Ball and those guys.
So this trade as well
is going to send CJ McCollum
to the Pelicans
along with Rodney Hood.
The Blazers will receive
DeMar DeRozan and Drew Holiday.
And you're talking about
a great mid-range player,
a great defensive player
in Drew Holiday.
The days of Damian Lillard
having to get guarded by this man
will be over
and it will instantly make
this defensive backcourt better.
Now the Blazers have struggled
at the small forward
and the power forward position.
We see that they haven't
resigned Melo.
I think it's for a reason.
I think making this trade right here
would be great for the Blazers.
As you can see,
it gives the Blazers a plus six
in projected wins, probably more.
All right.
For the Spurs.
All right.
Now in return,
we know the Spurs
are going to be
in some form of a rebuild.
They're going to be
in some form of a rebuild,
which is another reason why
I did not think Greg Popovich
is going to be there much longer.
All right.
But the Blazers get a young guard
in Anthony Simons,
which we know they're looking
for another young guard.
They get Nassir Little
at the power forward.
Now he had limited
playing time with the Blazers.
He had limited
playing time with the Blazers,
but that's because of
who he had in front of him.
I mean, when you got a sign
and when you got Zach Collins
and Yusef Nurkic in front of you,
it's going to be hard to find
yourself in their rotation.
Trevor Ariza,
I think he's been
kind of a disappointment,
but he's still a great veteran player
who fits what the Spurs like to do.
I think with the one year
left on this contract,
that will be a great move
for the Spurs.
And the Spurs would also get
the 2020 first round pick
from the Blazers.
All right.
I really like this trade.
It gives the Spurs
a lot more cap space.
All right.
The Blazers would take on
more cap space,
but the Blazers would be
instant contenders in the West.
All right.
And the Pelicans can get
two players that they
desperately need.
You're talking about a scorer
in Rodney Hood
coming off the bench for you,
who's much more reliable.
I would say he's more reliable
than a Josh Hart.
Then you got that dead eye score
in C.J. McCollum.
And again, unfortunately,
you have to put C.J. McCollum
alongside a great defender
on the perimeter.
If you pair him with Alonzo Ball,
who's the best perimeter defender on that,
would be the best perimeter
defender on that team.
He could take over those defensive
and playmaking duties,
while C.J. McCollum
could take some of that scoring
load and pressure
off of a Brandon Ingram.
All right.
And they could all
complement each other.
Now, though, my only worry in this is,
would C.J. be able to play fast?
I know they played fast in Portland,
but New Orleans
had the fastest pace in the NBA
next to the Lakers.
Would they be,
would he be able to play
that type of pace?
Would his game be consistent?
But I want you to analyze this trade.
Do you like this better
than the last trade
that involved C.J. McCollum?
This trade right here
would make the Blazers
a lot better
if they can make it work.
And it would be about chemistry.
One thing we know
about Damian Lillard
is whenever he's got new players,
he's went above and beyond
to help those guys
mesh into what they're
trying to do in Portland.
I think Terry Stotts
would have one of the best teams
that he's had ever in Portland
if he was able to pull off
a trade like this
to bring in two studs.
But this is one of the most
more intriguing trades.
I want you guys to let me know
what you think about this,
because again,
I think all three of these teams
are going to be actively trading
in trade talks on draft day
and going into free agency.
Again, this is like I told you guys,
the trades that you've been hearing,
the trades that you have
been hearing out there
are not the trades
that you're going to see go down.
Russell Westbrook's
not going to the Clippers.
Russell Westbrook's
not getting traded.
He's staying home.
The trades that we see
involve players that you guys
are not even talking about.
But here at FYF Sports,
we're putting them on the trade board.
We're giving you the realism,
the realistic trade scenarios.
We're not just throwing trades out there,
but we're showing you the money
because we're making the money work.
We're making the draft picks
work as well.
All right.
And then we're also giving you the impact.
How do these trades impact the team?
You know, as you can see,
this trade right here,
it gives the Spurs
a minus six on win projections.
It makes them worse,
but they can get off
of DeMar DeRozan's contract.
They open up salary cap space
and they get an additional draft
for this year,
which will allow them more flexibility
into making more moves.
So I like this trade
for all teams involved.
Let's get to the next trade.
All right.
So we got our next trade
on the board here again.
It involves the Blazers.
All right.
And again,
from what I've been hearing,
the Blazers are going to be
active in the trade market.
They're not going to stay pat.
There's no way that they can stay pat.
I think they've just kind of expired.
I think they've expired
the parent.
I think the parent of CJ and Dame,
as much as we love it,
you know, for me,
as a Portland Trailblazer fan,
you see it right here.
As much as I love the parent
of those two guys,
ultimately,
it's not going to lead to winning
because of the defensive liabilities
that it brings you.
Now, with these two teams
involved right here,
we know that the Nets
have clearly stated
that they're looking
for another star to come in.
They want another star to come in.
Now, CJ McCollum works.
The only issue,
you know,
and if we're talking realistically,
I know the money works
and all the numbers work,
but is there enough shots
to go around for this group?
Now we know CJ,
we know he has the ability to fall back
and allow other guys to dominate
because he's played with Damian Lillard
his whole career.
He played with Carmelo Anthony.
So sometimes we've seen him fall back
and be that third guy.
He knows how to play that role.
So that's something we know
that he's willing to do.
And we also know that when he's hot,
or if let's say a Kyrie
goes down with injury,
he knows how to step up
and feel that road
and take on a bigger load
if need be as well,
because we've seen him step up
and have big games,
either when Dame's not feeling it
or if Dame is out with injury.
So we know he's played
a multitude of different roles
scoring wise.
And we know that he won't have a problem
falling back,
playing a lesser role if need be.
Because the one thing he can do,
he can go get his own shot at any time.
He can get going at any time.
He can make things happen.
That's the type of player he is.
And he can play off ball.
Great catch and shoot.
Great on ball.
Great pull up.
Great mid range.
He can even shoot the three.
But we know that the Nets
are actively seeking a third star.
And this deal,
obviously the money would work.
It would give the Nets,
you know, actually,
it would actually save the Nets
a little bit of money
so that the Nets can trim
about $800,000 off their salary cap
with this deal.
While also gaining some draft picks
to help buffer that roster.
And maybe even bring in
somebody else during the season
if they need to bring in a veteran.
But let's look at what the Blazers get.
The Blazers will get Karis Levert.
I love that right there.
A playmaking guard.
Defensive minded guard.
He can do it all.
We've seen him play multiple roles
similar to CJ.
But this would buffer the defense
on that perimeter.
That's what they need.
Torian Prince.
Torian Prince, again,
you're bringing in a stout defender
on the perimeter.
Torian Prince can defend
what the Blazers need.
I think they missed that last year
when they let Aminu go.
When they let Moharclis go.
All those guys struggled offensively.
The Blazers definitely missed their defense.
All right.
Torian Prince can bring you offense
and defense.
We've seen what he did last year
with the Nets.
Now, the Blazers would get
the 2020 first round pick
from Philadelphia.
And they would get a 2022
from the Nets first round pick
which is lottery protected.
Now, we know the Nets
aren't going to be in the lottery.
So we can almost guarantee
that that pick is going to be
going to the Nets.
The Nets would get CJ McCollum.
They will get the 2022
first round pick
will be top 10 protected.
I don't see the Blazers being
in the top 10 of the draft.
So we know that would probably
be going to the Nets.
And then they would get
the 2020 second round pick
from the Blazers again.
You're getting an additional pick
that allows you to buffer your roster,
fill out your roster.
And with the way the draft is,
you may be able to find a hidden gem
in that portion of the second round.
So I think this trade works
for both teams.
It doesn't look as fun
or as flashy as some of the last picks,
but I think it actually works
for both teams.
And it gives both teams something
that they desperately need.
You guys let me know what you think.
And again, make sure
when you see this pick,
don't fall in love
with CJ McCollum's scoring.
Make sure you understand
that he's one of the worst
defenders in the league.
The Blazers are going to have to,
his scoring, CJ McCollum's scoring
does not make up for his defense.
And we've seen that in the playoffs
multiple year after year after year.
All right.
They have to break up that dynamic duo
and find a way to get younger and better.
I think this is the best way
to do it right here,
especially when Karis LeVert
has those three years
on his contract right there.
Those are three years.
So you're guaranteed three years
with Karis LeVert.
If you can keep him healthy,
that's big.
And then you got two years
on that Torian Prince contract,
which I think that's really big
in this particular trade.
All right.
We're going to go ahead
and go to the next trade.
All right.
So we have another trade here
involving a big name,
high profile player.
I've had a feeling for a while
that just Drummond
being on the Cleveland Cavaliers
just is not something
that I see just sticking.
I don't, that just makes no sense
with what they have over there.
And I see Drummond
wanting to put himself
in a better situation.
I think this puts Drummond
and even the Wizards
in a slightly better situation
based on what they have.
Now, once this year,
you know, and like I said,
the best thing about this
is it gives the Wizards
an expiring contract.
They can get off some money.
If this doesn't work out,
they're only stuck with it for a year.
But it gives them also a trade up.
And I think this would be humongous.
This would be a humongous haul
for the Wizards
if they can pull this off.
But I see,
you know, I'll talk about
the first team here.
I got teams between,
trades between the Wizards
and the Cavs.
We got Andre Drummond
and his $28 million
expiring contract
for the Cavs first round pick in 2020,
which is the number five pick.
The Cavs in turn
will get Thomas Bryant,
another center.
He's just a bit more dynamic,
kind of fits
what Cleveland's trying to do.
On a two-year contract,
far less money,
not really much of a commitment.
But for what Thomas Bryant brings,
Thomas Bryant is definitely outplayed
that $8 million.
Then we got Davis Bertans
who would have to
be a part of this trade
in a signing trade.
All right.
And we know Davis Bertans
is looking for more long-term money.
Davis Bertans is probably going to command
maybe three years,
maybe 12 to 14 million a year
on a longer three to four-year deal.
I see it being three years though,
like I would say.
Now, the Cavs will get a haul of picks.
They will get a 2020 second round pick
coming from Chicago
through Washington.
They will get the 2022 first round pick,
which is lottery protected.
I don't see the Wizards
being in the...
I don't see them being in the lottery.
But you never know.
You got the 2025 second round pick.
And then you got the 2020 first round pick,
which is the number nine pick.
So essentially,
the Cavs would be trading down
to the nine slot.
They would get two young players
that both have promise,
Thomas Bryant and Davis Bertans.
And they would get a haul of other picks
that could help them in the future.
While the Wizards get the five pick
and Andre Drummond.
I like that trade.
It's a little bit more unique.
Now, the probability of something like this
happening is extremely low.
I just think it works for the Cavs
because this is the direction
that the Cavs are going in.
Thomas Bryant could be more
that pick and roll point guard
with Collin Sexton.
As it stands right now,
Drummond is not very good
in the pick and roll.
He's not extremely good
in the pick and roll.
I think it would take a great player
for him to excel in the pick and roll.
Running the pick and roll with Bradley Bill
and John Wall would accentuate him 10 times.
Because of their ability to play, make and score.
So it would open up the things
a little bit more
than what you've seen he's had in the past
when he had guys like Reggie Jackson
running the point for him.
So I think this trade works for both teams.
You guys let me know
what you think about this trade as well.
I know it's a little bit different.
I know it's a little different
from what we've been seeing or hearing
because we really haven't been talking
about Davis Bertans a lot.
But let me know what you think about this
because a lot of people
have been speculating
Andre Drummond to the Celtics
or here or there.
You know, I don't think it's going to be.
I think a lot of the teams
that are going to be making these moves
are going to be low impact teams.
Teams that we didn't see in the playoffs
are going to have
a little bit more flexibility
because a lot of these teams
that we're talking about,
at least in the trade scenarios
that I've been discussing,
they have draft picks
and they have cap flexibility
where they can make things happen.
So this is the trade.
The Wizards and the Cavaliers,
Andre Drummond,
sending Andre Drummond
to the Wizards
to fill that center position.
Rory Hatcher-Murray
can go back to being
that natural power forward
or small forward.
And the Wizards
will have a great starting lineup.
You're looking at a starting lineup
where you got John Wall, Bradley Beal,
Rory Hatcher-Murray, Andre Drummond.
And you just, you know,
you can throw anybody else in there
to really fill that last spot
to make it work.
And if that's an Otto Porter,
I mean, not Otto Porter,
but if that's somebody else,
that could be a nice starting five,
especially if John Wall is healthy.
All right, but let's get
to our next and last trade.
And then we'll wrap it up from there.
But these are all trades
that we're going to be discussing.
When this video drops,
we'll be going live the same day.
These are trades
that we're going to be discussing,
projections that we're going to be discussing
on the live show.
And if you guys got
certain trade scenarios,
I mean, go do the trade simulator
yourself on ESPN,
screenshot the trades.
When we go live,
you can email them to us
and we'll put it on this.
We'll put it on the big screen
and we can chop it up
and talk about the trades
you guys could create.
But again, just be inventive.
So on the 18th, let's, let's,
let's get trade ideas and trade talk.
And hopefully, you know, maybe,
maybe one of these trades
actually happens.
But let's get to the next trade.
All right.
So our next and last trade
is going to be on the L.A. Lakers
with the L.A. Lakers
and OKC Thunder.
Now, the one thing that we know
about the Thunder
is that they're trying to get younger
and building for the future.
Their ultimate rebuild mode.
They're only going to look
to take on expiring deals.
All right.
But Danny Green contract
is a player that they know
they can easily move.
All right.
Because he's an expiring
one year deal.
He's on that expiring one year deal
that can go to almost
any contending team.
All right.
So that's going to give them flexibility
if they want to move with Danny Green,
who I don't think he wants to stay
in OKC.
Kyle Kuzma is a guy that I know
that they would love to
re-sign and give an extension to.
They would love to do that
with a guy like Kyle Kuzma.
They would have his rights.
So he would be a restricted free agent
where they can match any deal given to him.
So I like this trade right here
on the Lakers.
You know, a lot of people
don't understand the value
of a guy like Dennis Schroeder.
Not only can this guy Dennis Schroeder
play your point, you know,
because we don't even know
if the Lakers are going to be able
to retain a rondo.
You know, let's say they can't
retain a rondo.
Dennis Schroeder is going to be
a great backup point guard.
Dennis Schroeder is great off ball.
He can be that shooting guard role.
He can play that shooting guard role.
You know, if you're losing Kuzma,
Dennis Schroeder is a great defender.
So he's going to bring you
perimeter defense.
And we know Kuzma struggled defensively
almost to the point
where he was hard to play.
Same with Danny Green.
Danny, you know, he's going to feel
that defense that Danny Green gave you.
And I would say Dennis Schroeder,
I call him a gamer.
He just knows how to play the game.
You know, when you need
to get something done,
he's there to help you get it done.
Dennis Schroeder is a true gamer.
And that's what you got to give to him.
I think he would fit well in
with LeBron James.
I think he would fit perfectly
with that team.
And being a sixth man on that team,
he could lead the bench.
He could lead those players off the bench.
He could assist the starters
if they needed another playmaker
in with LeBron.
He's so versatile.
He can do a lot.
So I think he's one of the more
undervalued players.
Only on the one-year deal.
We know the Lakers are not going
to commit to any long-term deals.
They're not committing
to any long-term deal.
Only one and two-year deals,
two years at the max.
Because again, they're looking
towards 2021 free agency.
So with that being said,
this trade makes big sense.
Now I've been hearing Gallinari
out there in free agency.
I've been hearing all of this.
But at the end of the day,
the Lakers aren't going to be able
to make any free agent signings.
They're over the cap.
All right.
So what this trade also does,
if you look at the money,
it gives the Lakers
a cushion of 3.4 million.
So we're knocking 3.4 million
off the books for the Lakers.
The Thunder with all the cap space
in the world,
they're taking on an extra 6.9 million.
All right.
And I think because they're taking
on that extra money,
that's what a lottery picture thrown in
to supplement that.
I think this trade works for everybody
because it gives Lakers cap cushion,
gives the Laker a dynamic player
that's versatile.
You can play them in multiple positions.
You just have to sacrifice Kuzma.
I just don't think he was fitting
well with that team anyway.
You know, I can almost say
if you pull them off that team,
they still win the NBA championship.
He just didn't have that much of an impact
on a lot of those games,
especially in the Western Conference
finals and the finals.
All right.
So this is just a way for the Lakers
to improve their roster
and give them cushion and do more.
Maybe go out and sign somebody.
But, you know, hey,
these are all my trade scenarios.
I want you guys to let me know
what you think about these trades, man.
I took a lot of time
to really look into
how to make those potential trades work,
looking at team needs.
Again, if you're making these trades,
we want to look at the need for both teams.
You know, you know, sending, sending,
you know, when we heard the trade
talks about James Harden going to Philly.
Well, yeah, that sounds perfect.
That sounds perfect for Philly.
But does it work for Houston?
Sending Ben Simmons to Houston
with Russell Westbrook
doesn't make any sense.
And that's why I say
let's just be students of the game.
Let's try to let's let's just try
to come up with trade scenarios
that are a bit more realistic.
Understand salary cap.
Understand the value of these draft picks
when these draft picks are moving as well.
How will all of this correlate
into the NBA draft?
All right.
So when we go live,
I want you guys to chime in.
Let me know what you think about this.
But this is our NBA trade breakdown.
I mean, we may come back
with some more trade breakdowns,
but the guys that we talked about today
are all guys that are
potentially on the trademark
or already stated to already
be on the trademark
by the trade block by their teams.
All right.
So but it's been a great video, man.
I really love doing this.
I really like talking
about these trade scenarios,
especially when we base it in realism
and not just the the the hyperism
that we see in ClutchPoints.com
or Bleacher Report
with a lot of these trades
where you don't see the numbers
behind the deal to make it work.
So right here again,
at the end of the day,
these aren't real trades either,
but I think they're
just a tad bit more realistic,
closer to what we'll probably see
on November 18th
when the NBA draft hits
and when free agency
hits a little after.
Hey, but it's been a great
NBA free agency video.
Make sure you guys like,
comment, subscribe,
hit that notification bell.
We're grinding to 20K.
Appreciate all the support so far.
Appreciate everybody
who's been jumping in the live chats,
making our live chats crazy.
I mean, whenever I see
over a thousand people
in the live chat,
it just absolutely blows my mind
how that even happens
that a thousand people
actually want to check in on FYF Sports.
You know, when I go look
at other channels
and I see, you know,
500 and 600, you know,
and they have a higher subscriber base.
What that tells me right there
is that we got a loyal fan base.
You guys are showing up
whenever we go live.
You know, we're not going to overdo it.
We're not going to burn you out
with seven, eight hour lives.
We're not going to take up
that much of your time.
We're going to go live
for two, three hours,
chop it up about sports
and we're going to get out of there.
Stay tuned.
We are going to start talking
a little bit more football
and boxing, I promise.
We're going to start talking
a little bit,
a little bit more
about football and boxing.
So if you guys,
if you guys love boxing,
if you love football,
be ready to talk football soon.
We're going to be doing
a live stream specifically
on football.
You'll know it
because you'll see the title.
You'll see this.
You'll see the thumbnail
and when it has football on it,
we're here to talk
all football that day.
Because again, I need,
I need you guys
to help me understand
what's going on
with the Dallas Cowboys.
I mean, it's just been
absolute mess over there.
Troubles with that last
loss with the Bucs.
We see how bad they need
A.B., Cam Newton
struggling against the Jetsman.
We got so much to talk about
when we touch on football.
So stay tuned for that live
when we chop it up on football.
It probably would be best
to do that on like a Friday
or Saturday right before
game day on Sunday.
And maybe we can do
our projections
or outcomes on those games.
But that will be starting up soon
as we go into the second
half of the NFL season.
But today has been a great video.
Again, appreciate everybody
who has been supporting
the channel,
either financially
or just by liking
and sharing the videos.
Either way, it's all love
and we appreciate it.
Hey, but it's FYF sports.
Been another great video.
