Non-Stop Drama | The Story of Paris Saint-Germain's 2023-24 UWCL Season

Well tonight Ajax play host to two-time beaten finalist Paris Saint-Germain. We are in the iconic Johan Cruyff Arena. Here it comes, the shot's blocked and Ajax have taken the lead. It's on the outside. Oh now that's a decision for the referee and the referee says penalty. Fully converted. It was never in doubt. Sheridan Spitzer. It's towards the back post but it's alive and it's nodded into the back of the net. Two-winger might have to do this all herself. Beating down on goal. From the penalty spot. Sends the goalkeeper the wrong way and Paris Saint-Germain get the goal that they quite frankly deserve. Into the penalty area. Great ball. Super finish from Catoto and they double their leads. Magnificently worked goal from Paris Saint-Germain. It's Chugliano. Saved. Well after two defeats from two, Paris Saint-Germain needed something tonight and they responded with a really dogged performance. That's a fine pass for Chawinga. Can she get there? Yes she can. It's a super finish from a super player. She still has it too. Chawinga flits it through for Catoto. That is just what she does. Give and go. It's on. That is so good. That is magnificent from Paris Saint-Germain. 3-0 and that's it. It is Parisian joy in the Eternal City tonight. Lively play. Still Baltimore. Lifts it in. It's a great ball. It's a super goal. No surprise that Maria Antoinette Catoto was on the end of it. Wonderful wing play and this could be dangerous. A chance to make it two. A chance taken brilliantly by a brilliant striker. Maria Antoinette Catoto. Do not give her room like that. I think there must be two of her out there because she's on the left and she's on the right and now they've got to get back. Ajax great ball in. Oh yes it eventually got smuggled home. Grace Chiara the captain. It's all coming to a head in Bavaria. Mash and bounce. Delivered it. Biggest dot here and the header's bounced in. Gets the bounce of the ball and keen to start an attack even though she's on her own here. There's hesitation and a chance for the equaliser and it's in. A massive goal. Chawinga scores it. Bayern won't go through with a drop. There's a header and it's in and the pendulum swings Bayern's way again. Baltimore takes aim and it's bounced in and just as there's a twist in the biggest of turns in Bavaria and it's the last action. PSG are through an unbelievable finale in Munich. Spins into the area. Lovely skill. Kashawi to take to the far post headed down. Oh it might be touched in and Paris Saint-Germain will take the lead and Eva Gettino. This penalty referee blows the whistle. Oh and it's saved. Oh and then there's Khafaji who races in and makes sure it goes in at the second attempt with Albers. Forward to Chawinga. She's got behind the defence and she's put Paris Saint-Germain back ahead but I think any celebrations cut very short. Baltimore cross comes down. Could be Chawinga and it gives PSG a goal to put them back ahead. Denied earlier in this second half by an offside flag but that one will count. Well they were up the pitch in an instant but there is only one goal separating the two sides ahead of the start of the second leg. Petoto forward to Chawinga. Chawinga strike and she scores. She scored in the away leg and she's given Paris Saint-Germain their opener in the second leg of this quarterfinal. Albers low shot from her and she scores. A left-footed strike from the American. Paris Saint-Germain surely now know that they're in the Champions League semi-final. Heading into the last four. Kashiwi. Ketoto's header. 3-0 PSG. Well she was not going to be denied. Sirens blaring from the outside. Ketoto. Some more. Chawinga. Half a yard. Ketoto there. Raced into a two-goal lead in Lyon. Carpenter. Beautiful cut back. Diani. Dumourne. And then a strike. Electric turnaround in Lyon. And the whistle goes. A sensational evening of Champions League football in Lyon. The last three semi-final meetings have gone Lyon's way and once again a place in the Champions League final is on the line. With Basia completely on mark. Oh what a start. PSG spring immediately. Chawinga. And so simple for PSG. Lyon asleep at the wheel. Forwards. Special across. Dumourne. Gone and seized this tie by the Scruff. A superb Champions League semi-final.
