Great Beginner Card Trick (Tutorial)

you've probably seen versions of this trick but never one that's as clean as this version this will feel like The Spectator has a completely free choice but somehow they pick all of either the red or the black cards and it's their choice which one this is what the trick looks like all right Vinnie for this trick we have a deck of cards and what I'm going to do is just have you pick either red or black do you want whichever one you want red or black black black all right so I'm going to spread these cards out and now what I want you to do is you're going to take this first card and either put it in your pile if you think it's black without looking at it just slide it over if you think it's not black just slide off to the side and this will be like discard pile so let me just make this a little cleaner I'll put in the middle so you do the first card this card just in your pile or to the side you think it's not okay uh and I'm going to do the red pile so I think this one is red I think it is I'm going to take it back now you take the next one either discard or discards it again all right red I'm discard this one take this one takes that one I'm going discard this one disc I'll take this one take this one I'll take this one I'll take this one I'll discard this one I'll take this one I'll take this one I'll take this one all right I'm going to take another one I'm going to discard I'm going to take this one discard I'll take this one take and I'll discard this one do one more we'll stop here all right uh take you're taking that one okay so this is the discard pile right so as you can see a mixture of red black cards could have been anything right but you were trying to get the black cards and only the black cards cards right mhm so how do you think you did okay yeah well would you be impressed if I said you got every single one of them right every single one is black and I got every single one of the Reds the secret to this trick is so simple all you have to do is set the entire deck up in red black red black red black order now at the beginning of the trick you notice that it looked like I was shuffling a little bit while I was talking and what I did is I just started dealing Cards into my hand while I was explaining the trick and I was just peeling off one at a time and I was counting to five I'm just taking one card letting it fall into my hand hand I'm taking the next card let it fall in my hand take the next card the next card and the next card and now I know I have five cards in my hand and if I just dro the rest of the deck on top I didn't change that black red black red black red order so as I'm explaining the trick I'm just casually kind of shuffling these cards and I'm counting my head that's three four and I'm telling them uh you're going to pick red or black cards which ones do you want I put the rest on top and then I might even cut one more time doesn't matter all I need to know is what is the bottom card cuz if the bottom card is black then I know the top card has to be red so if they picked red then I would as I spread these cards out I'd let them go first if they said they wanted the black pile well then I would go first and I'd explain it to them so I would just say look I'll take this card and I'll put it in my pile let's say now I know I have a red card which means the next card has to be black and that goes in their pile or it goes in the discard pile so discard pile doesn't matter right because every other card is going to be red and black so that's black that's red that's black that's red that's black right if we just did that with no discard pile it'd be pretty obvious what we did when you do the Discord pile again it doesn't matter what goes here because it could be red or black right so if I discard this one they discard this one discard discard and then this one I lost track these are the Reds so red and their turn then my turn then their turn then my turn then their turn then my turn and you can do the entire deck if you wanted to and what's great about this and a real convincer is that when you flip over the discard deck obviously it's got Reds and blacks cuz you both did some discards you might want to shuffle it a little bit it's not really even necessary but you could shuffle them a little bit just to kind of mix it up a bit so they don't like remember which cards they put there and you spread them out and it's all reds and blacks and it kind of looks like a mess and then when you flip over your pile and show they're all the same color and the same for theirs it looks like a real miracle
