Mr Edu, I love what you're doing at this football club, but I've got a bone to pick with you.
In a day and age where we're seeing several exciting Brazilians all coming onto the scene,
people, we need our own. We need a very exciting Brazilian that fans can get behind,
that can get bombs off seats and provide something to this football club.
Now again, Mikel Arteta and Edu, I've got a lot of time for what you lot are doing at
Arsenal right now and the players you're recruiting and all the building blocks you're
putting into place. But for Edu specifically, the last time you went back to your homeland,
you brought us Marquinhos. Now, with the greatest of respect to Marquinhos,
I think you've got a dodgy deal and someone conned and scammed you. It's okay, L's happened,
but let's turn it into a W. Now you need to bring us a real, real Brazilian wonderkid,
someone that is a star, someone that has the potential to turn into a superstar with the
quality to match, someone who's a bobby dazzler, a really dazzling showman, someone that has
dazzling skills, people. I want us to sign Wesley Gasolva, forgive me for mispronunciation.
The 19 years of age winger who's able to play in a number of roles is currently playing for
Corinthians, which forgive me if I'm wrong, Edu, did you not only play there but work there?
And obviously there's been many, with the greatest of respect to Edu, many bigger Brazilians that
have played for that glorious club. If it wasn't for other options, he actually narrowly, in my
opinion, missed out on a Copa America place for Brazil. Despite being young, he's drawing interest
through his exploits in Corinthians and in the Serie A, in the Brazilian league. He's drawing
interest from West Ham, Chelsea, Roma. I know Chelsea, how any more players Chelsea sign,
I'm not too sure. Can they even all fit in the building at this moment in time?
And again, despite being 19 years of age and obviously not the finished article,
there's a lot to like about him. Since he made his debut in his first official game
as a professional in the Copa do Brasil match, which again, tongue-tied, tongue-twisted there,
in the third round, people, he's come a long way. He had to wait a year to actually score
his first Corinthians goal. In that game, it was very important, people. His side played
Noel's old boys in the first leg of the Copa Sudamerica round of 16. He came on at half-time
and helped secure Corinthians' 2-1 victory, people, which was obviously crucial because
the second leg ended 0-0. Despite being five foot nine, I think he's powerful. I think he's robust
and I can see why fans and clubs and everyone is drawing interest in this individual and he's
drawing plenty of plaudits for his minimal exploits. The pros to his game are uncanny.
As I was saying, he's a one-v-one demon. Saka is left-footed on the right-hand side.
He's right-footed on the left-hand side. He's someone that would provide us with a lot of depth
and a lot of quality and a lot of excitement. Again, I believe Arsenal need a striker and a
winger. If you can't bring in a striker, you need to bring in another attacker. I don't know where
we're at, where the links to several players are concerned and whether we're going to get them and
the price tag, but for this individual, he's a one-v-one demon. As I said, he's fast, he's strong.
He will take you down the left-hand flank. He'll cut in on his favoured right-foot people.
He's got immense skill. He's got a powerful shot on him, I must say, people. Despite his strongest
position being off the left-hand side, I think he can perform equally as well or to an equally
high standard off the right. I don't think he'll cut out a future as a striker, but he could play
as a false nine, which is something that is something Mikel Arteta likes. I think he's a
hybrid in that. I think he's a typical Brazilian in some of his skill set, but he's a lot more
aggressive and there's a lot more method to his madness, if I'm honest. He's got the flair,
but he's far more aggressive. He's a showman. He's got lovely skills. I like his lovely body
face that he does to create distance between him and his opponent or defender. Of course,
he would need to learn to find more gears to his game. He's only 19 and would have to operate in
different aspects because we're typically in a low block or facing a low block where Arsenal's
concerned. Despite being 19 and not really having the most of experience, he's in the 99th percentile
for dribbles completed, equally for progressive runs and for attacking options, people.
And then when you compare him over 2023, I know we're in 2024, but some of the other Brazilian
wingers in that division per 90 minutes for dribbles, offensive drills, progressive runs
and attacking actions, he was first. For fouls, he was fourth and for accelerations, he was fifth.
So I like him a lot, man. I think there's a lot of real potential there that Mikel Arteta could
harness and get a real player out. And I think, you know, people can see what he's done for
Martinelli and Kai Havertz at the moment. Mikel Arteta has shown he can make people think of
football differently and get a better tune out of them. Of course, where you look at cons,
he's still relatively inexperienced. He's only 19. He's only got 73 appearances for
Corinthians in total. And again, he would learn, he would need to learn to become a
more consistent goal scorer. I don't think his play in the final third is of an elite level yet.
It needs fine tuning. He's got seven goals and five assists in total. So he would have to give
him time to develop. And going back to the 70-odd appearances he's made for his club,
only 40 have come in the Serie A top division where Brazil's concerned.
But he could be someone that could come in in the short term, get some rotational minutes
and obviously in the medium term grow in stature and in the long term be a real big, big player,
in my opinion. And also, you know, where you look at not so positive numbers,
where WeScout's concerned, he's got a 72% pass accuracy. Successful total actions are hovering
just around 53% and his winning draws are at 47.7%. So again, you can't expect him to be
the finished article. I am by no means of the imagination suggesting he's such people. I'm
just simply saying these numbers show that there's a player with a world of potential
but evident areas of improvement. And who better than Mikel Arteta in Arsenal? And I think if there
really is an asking price of 20 to 25 million dollars people, which equates to about 21 odd
million pounds, we could do a lot worse than that. There's a lot of upside. Even if he doesn't
progress to the level he's projected to be, we could sell him and make a profit and he's probably
better than Marquinhos with the greatest of respect. And I do think once again, this could
be a player that ultimately for Mikel Arteta, he could mould and craft into a superstar.
I do think Wesley's got a solid foundation and I'm attracted to his pace and his technique because I
think that could cause panic in opposition's defence, which obviously could benefit Arsenal
Football Club. He's someone obviously I'm going to, you know, keep developments on and keep
watching and see exactly what he's about and things like that. But I must admit, I am attracted
to him. I don't know if Corinthians are in a rush to sell him. As they know, they've got an
appreciating asset and the better he does, the more clubs from abroad will spend a lot of money.
Now, typically where South American talents are concerned, you know, Chelsea have been
bringing in a lot of them. As I said, he's been linked with West Ham. He's actually been linked
with Liverpool as well. You know, you know, the Benfica's and them kind of Portuguese clubs were
probably hovering around. At 19 years of age, I think he's got a lot and I think he would provide
a very good option for Arsenal out wide and he ties into what we're doing with young players.
Now, I know many people say we need some more household names and I'm not necessarily against
that. But I do think this guy could be a really, really big player, man. I think he's dribbling
and he's ball carrying. There's a lot of healthy rawness to him, people. And we've got a bunch of
Brazilians. So why not continue signing some good ones, people? So in short, I think he's a good player.
By no means an expert. Going to keep monitoring him and things like that. But let me know your
thoughts. What do you think of the player? Is there any points I've missed out? Are you convinced?
Are you not convinced? Let me know. Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe. Most importantly,
stay safe, stay blessed. Peace.
