We have been taking our animals to the Richer Rodeo for the past 3 years and booked this year as our 4th. We soon found out upon arriving that there was another farm setup in our place. After speaking with the organizers they had informed us that they texted us (on our Land Line) and informed us that they will not be needing us. In the past week we had sent them two emails and one voicemail trying to confirm, with no response. We recieved our final load of hay on Sunday and we are now full for the year with 780 bales to take us into Fall.

herd welcome to the 10 Acre Woods my
name's Mark here's my daughter here all
dressed for the
rodeo uh so we're off to the Richer
Rodeo for this weekend it is H Saturday
the 10th of August uh and we do this uh
every year go down set up a Petting Farm
mobile heading Farm take some of the kid
goats take uh well we don't really take
our Pig anymore Charlie's gotten a
little large uh but we'll take a variety
of some animals and go down and uh show
the people what we're all about and uh
they get in there with the kids and uh
they're excited to pet the animals so
Tara's got the van here ready to load up
let's get to it all right we're up to
the what we call the loading dock it's
just a small deck on the front of our
mudro here we removed the railings uh we
have some fencing we have a little ramp
here for the animals to get in and then
this other one uh just kind of goes
across here kind of
like kind of like
that all right so there we
go we'll come in and we flipped around
the doors last weekend this is Tara's
friend Jerry she's helping out today no
that that can be shut yeah she's
learning she's learning the process we
have to get them all in here first take
that and then we open them
up so last weekend we uh flip this door
around so now it's going to be a lot
easier to get the animals out rather
than uh messing around with the doors we
also have hay coming in tomorrow morning
which is going to make that much easier
because our hay barn is actually full uh
down near the end of the driveway so all
that hay is going to be coming into this
building which will feed off into the
fall and then once it gets into the cold
winter uh we'll have enough room in here
from the hay that we used in the fall to
move some of the animals in most of the
animals will stay outside uh because
they have a shelter they're out of the
wind they're off the snow uh so they can
handle minus 40 temperatures you'd be
surprised
but uh that sheep wool and even the hair
the um there's a two layer of hair on
the goats uh they the goats develop a
fuzzy kind of under coating similar to a
dog uh some breeds of dogs have uh
underlays okay so we have onx on the
right and little Tucker here uh so
they're going to be loaded up they're
coming down uh they love the uh the
attention of the public yes yes we're
going on a road trip
kids and
then Tiana sorry is
out calling the
babies come on kids oh yeah got to take
a
pee oh like where's my mom my mom's not
in there
well maybe she
is got enough or do we need more oh
there's only three oh here we
go yeah they'll follow
[Music]
[Applause]

[Music]
[Laughter]
go hi
Sheldon no Sheldon's not coming and
Charlie Charlie Did come uh when he was
smaller but uh now he's a little bit
bigger so he doesn't uh he he enjoys the
pets um but he's just a little bit more
um more of a challenge to get in and
[Applause]
out oh come on out Jasper you're not
coming with
us yeah just a little
animals yeah Sable's got some fainting
in her oh did she paint I was clapping
outside to pop them in and her back leg
froze oh well I think that comes I think
that comes from from her father and
grandfather well and her mom's Moana
which she usually has a little yeah
she's got a little bit there's a little
bit in
there okay we're letting out the
mamas holding in the kids you you mam
get the time off it's uh it's Mama's Day
Out yeah you don't get the kids you get
to relax well for a few hours
anyway open that
[Music]
come

gate yeah you got to PT
it all right okay there's the lineup

Tucker come on come
on come
on there you go come on come on come on
you got to do it for yourself some days
come on come on you're a big boy now
okay stage three
looing oh Mama's getting things
ready you guys excited to go to the
rodeo all right okay here we
go come on kids up up
good girl go taka Mar look at you good
girl
Onyx going in all the
way this fell down last
time oh you kind of grab that yeah there
we go
all right we're all loaded up Jerry and
Tara are heading off and we will follow
in our vehicle
[Music]
a
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
a
[Music]
so it's been uh an hour and 45 minutes 2
hours is and um we've been replaced
apparently so we got down to richer
Rodeo uh we've been there for the last
three years and we were booked last year
and uh they have another Farm there it's
not really a Petting Farm because
there's just uh some donkeys and some
alpaca and some ducks and geese and
they're all in cages and there's nobody
in there it's just you kind of look over
the fence so anyway we were told that um
oh uh yeah we texted you guys uh meaning
my wife uh well it's a landline and you
can't really text a landline so um yeah
we even contacted him cuz we you know
needed some confirmation uh we sent him
a couple emails in the last week didn't
hear anything back and figured well it's
got to still be
on because they have a Petting Farm and
they've booked Us in so but no lack of
communication so um the girls are coming
back Jerry and Tara Tiana came back with
me they should be arriving any minute uh
so yeah it's uh
communicate just communicate so anyway
it is what it is and uh I see the van
just pulling into the driveway here uh
we'll get the reactions of The Mamas
they uh have quieted down since I just
walked
in oh they're
screaming all right here we go Coco's
quieter
loud okay mam get away from the gate
[Music]
[Applause]
there we go they're lined
up no no you're coming out you're not
going
[Music]
in and there's going to be some milk
some drink in here who's going to be the
first
[Music]
one yeah oh oh you can you can kind of
tell because they right
yeah they assume the position and Coco
saying no no drinking you're old
[Music]
enough oh usually right
away maybe The Mamas have fully weaned
them yeah yeah Moana is saying the same
thing she's like no you're not having
any milk
says come on
Mama
no looks like they're wind good job
mamas so it's time to do some
maintenance uh the dryer vent is right
behind me it hasn't been cleaned out in
a couple years uh and I've been wanting
to do it so I picked up this here which
is a uh it mounts to a drill and it's a
brush that goes up in there so I thought
I'd bring you along and uh show you what
we find
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
so it was a little Dusty uh nothing big
came out which is good uh so that of
course is the number one cause of uh
house fires in North America cleaning
your dryer vent so uh that tool I picked
up
uh I picked up you can get them at a lot
of different places Amazon this one's a
10t length which is really all I need
you can get a 30t or a 40t and they just
it's a flexible cable that goes in so
clean your dryer vents so now that I
have this I'll be uh adding this to my
annual checklist to make sure that it's
uh clean and of course it makes your
dryer work more efficiently well good
morning it is now Sunday August 11th the
sun is shining uh the goats are Ming and
I just got a notification uh we've got a
couple uh kids from down the street
they're going to help out doing the hay
this morning and looks like they're just
showing up on their bicycles well Tara's
just given the boys uh quick little Tour
on where the hay is going uh the barn is
currently full so that's great uh so
we've got I think it's another 180 Bales
I think there's 300 Bales in the barn
180 Bales uh are are going in the
building here uh as well as uh in the
pony shelter as well good morning Mamas
and
kids and
Charlie little Tara threw out some grain
here and did some feeding this
morning oh you kids get
along well what's going on over here
a little pool time
fun are there actually grains in
there there are a couple grains in there
yes a silly
kids
Moana
Sheldon good morning Sheldon good
morning good morning hi what are you
doing hey
good morning
Tinker hi you got some feathers on your
nose sniffing up some feathers off the
ground turbo good morning hi how you
doing
oh
py and the rest of the
crew bronwin JJ Willow and George
and
Piper hi
[Laughter]
Piper so the uh hay has arrived so what
we're going to do is we're going to
unload it down at the hay barn and then
we're going to tractor it up to this
section here uh Tara has been fighting
weeds and she has um managed to uh to
kill a bunch of them with
Roundup uh you can see here uh they are
dying which is great so she doesn't want
to add you know unloading here she
doesn't want to add the seed from the
hay to the grass or to the gravel uh and
uh have it grow so she figures it's just
easier uh if we unload it down here and
then tractor it
down part of the r got Pat
Patrick and uh Jordan did the animals
[Music]
oh
[Music]
all right so that's it we've got the hay
here and then now we're going to move
down to the barn and um I don't know if
you have animals or dogs that when food
comes out and you're cooking and the
dog's like right there right at your
feet well we kind of have the same thing
here with our ponies every time hay
comes they are like do we get
some so no they don't get some um now
because there's a whole lot of grass
here to eat uh they really like the hay
and they are ponies so you don't want to
feed them too much because they can get
fat and do what's called foundering uh
which is very bad for them so yep
they're going to have to scr all of that
luscious green grass uh that Billy is
over there currently
doing Billy you on your
rock our little mountain goat our little
rock
goat loves his
Rock so the hay is in here we go nicely
packed just enough so we can get in get
into the door and the pigeons
pigeons are hanging out uh so there we
go so this is the hay we'll use for the
uh
horses and and then the other hay is
inside the
building uh now here is the area we sent
the uh the sheep on a mission for what
was that last video I think last weekend
uh so they took everything down with the
exception of of course the stocks uh now
what we do I think oh she has so if you
look closely you can see little green
flexs there um so this has been
seated uh so we'll leave this uh we
haven't uh had any rain in a little bit
maybe we'll have to water it make sure
it grows it should only take 2 weeks
before we really start to see some good
growth happening uh we planted this seed
in another area and it didn't take long
at all now we're coming into what we
just call the mud
room and and there we go this is packed
as
well so uh just find any little nook and
cranny we
can H but there's enough room to walk
in right into the barn we just have to
sweep this stuff
up little bit uh little bit extra on the
floor here and we have a new rooster
so this is a Polish
Rooster he doesn't have a name where is
he going where's he going are you a
scaredy cat scaredy
rooster so this a Polish Rooster uh he
came in uh two days ago I think it was
and just because uh the people had too
many roosters and I guess they were they
were fighting so there's another rooster
I think coming in uh on wednes day I
think it is he's making his way around
the
barn where you going where you
going you're
confused all right so uh in here we've
packed the hay in here so 18 180 Bales
is what this is I've got some more over
here and yeah it was uh it's 600 Bales
in the barn I mentioned 300 Bales
earlier but it's 300 bales per load uh
so that 600 and this
180 uh will be more than enough for a
year we always like to have extra on
hand CU you never know what's going to
happen uh and if there's other people
that run out of hay which quite often
happens especially with Farms that uh
have just kind of started out they're
not really sure how much hay to feed and
how far it's going to go uh so by next
SP spring uh we should have well this
will all be gone uh most of it in here
will be gone uh in around the cold
temperatures probably into
november-ish uh and then we can bring in
some animals if necessary into here we
will bring in generally onx and um we'll
bring in Tucker as well uh and we might
bring in a few other ones but all in all
they're fine out in the uh in the
shelter cuz they're off the snow out of
the elements um and out of the
wind so in here we have the uh the three
rabbits and then the frizzles uh and
then we've got Penny's uh little chicks
over here that she had hatched
out is it time for your
Siesta
yeah George where's everybody else oh
they're all
they're all relaxing over
here the afternoon Siesta you guys eat
too
much well that's it for another video uh
if you missed the midweek video we uh we
actually graded our driveway we tried
out a couple products for bever um so if
you haven't seen that one uh check up
here uh and uh see how how we made out
anyway until next video have a wonderful
week and we'll see you then take care
[Music]
