Preparing Our Animal Waterers for Winter! Heated Water & Farm Chores
Winter is coming to The 10 Acre Woods! After an unusually warm October day, temperatures are finally dropping, and it's time for Mark and Tara to get the farm ready for freezing weather.
In this week's farm vlog, we're winterizing our animal water systems, installing a heater in our Little Springs heated livestock waterer, disconnecting outdoor water lines, and making sure our animals have access to water as colder weather arrives. We also check on the sheep, goats, ponies, rabbits, chickens, and our favourite farm residents as everyone settles in for the changing season.
We share some practical details about our winter water setup, including protecting electrical connections, keeping hoses positioned so they can drain, and planning ahead to avoid frozen equipment. Plus, after a week without a working washer and dryer, our new all-in-one washer-dryer has finally arrived! We're learning its features and discovering that there's a bit of a learning curve.
It's another windy, busy day at our Manitoba animal rescue farm, with plenty of animal antics and everyday life at The 10 Acre Woods.
