Hello, everyone!
Good morning 🌤
For today’s lunch, I’m going to make an eggplant rice bowl using fresh eggplants 🍆
Eggplants are best enjoyed between June and August when their flavor and nutrition are at their peak 🤍
Eggplants contain over 90% water, making them great for preventing dehydration during summer 💦
They're also very low in calories, which makes them an excellent ingredient for dieting!
Scoring the eggplants in a honeycomb pattern helps them cook evenly and stay moist inside 🔥
Since eggplants absorb oil well, you can lightly salt them to draw out some moisture beforehand,
which helps them absorb less oil and keeps the flavor light and clean.
When you grill them until golden brown, they become soft yet pleasantly chewy 🤤
Perfectly grilled eggplants, ready to eat ✨
Now, let's make a sauce to go with them.
Chopped green onions + 3 soy sauce + 1 oligosaccharide 1 red pepper powder + A little water (about 2 tbsp) + Sesame seeds
If you add chopped onions and green chili, it becomes spicier and crunchier, making it even more delicious 🌶
Let’s first put the rice in the lunchbox 🍱
I'm not usually a big fan of eggplants, but I really love eggplant rice bowls and fried eggplants 🥹❤️
The spicy sauce cuts through the richness of the grilled eggplant,
and it enhances the eggplant's nutty flavor, making them a perfect match 🫶🏻
Finish with some green onions, and your eggplant rice bowl is ready to enjoy 🍆✨
For the side dish, I’m going to make tuna and vegetable pancakes using leftover veggies 👩🏻🍳
I used onions, carrots, peppers, and green onions for a nice crunchy texture.
👩🏻🍳 Chopped vegetables + 3-4 eggs + tuna
The sound of opening a tuna can wakes up my little kitten 🐈
Make sure to drain the oil from the tuna before adding it 🐟
2 tbsp cooking wine
0.5 tsp salt
A few dashes of pepper
Adding some pancake mix helps the ingredients stick together well and keeps the shape intact when frying,
while also giving a soft yet slightly chewy texture 🤍
I’ll cook them in a heart-shaped frying pan 🍀
Since eggs and tuna naturally contain low moisture,
if you cook them too thick, the inside can easily become dry.
Cooking them thinly ensures even cooking and keeps the texture soft and moist!
I made them too thick this time, and unfortunately, the texture ended up more like a pancake 😹
It's best to scoop just 1-2 spoonfuls and cook them thinly for the tastiest result.
Got the heart shape but lost the flavor ^..^
Tomatoes for dessert 🍅
I’ll add a paw-shaped pick that looks like Kane’s, with a sprinkle of pepper,
and I’ll also add some cute cheese pieces 🧀🤍
The visuals are absolutely heart-melting...
How can I even eat something this cute...
Adorable and precious 🥹
By using cute picks and snacks,
even a simple lunchbox can turn out looking cute and delightful.
And that’s how today’s lunchbox is complete 🍆✨
Even though it was just a "clean-out-the-fridge" lunchbox, it was absolutely delicious ❤️
I’m also bringing Thai milk tea as dessert.
Secured it tightly,
and off I go for the day 🙇🏻♀️
I have a meeting with the manager this afternoon,
so I stopped by a nearby café for a bit.
It's also a day when I need to send out the proposal, so I’m working on it diligently...
To be honest, I thought I had plenty of time, so I took it easy in the morning,
but it turned out I was running late and ended up sweating in the afternoon...
Alright, everyone, let’s catch up at home after work 🤍
As soon as I got home, I started preparing dinner. 🦀
Frozen crabs packed with meat,
King tiger prawns 🦐
And the lonely abalone hiding in the corner of the freezer... 🦪
Today, I’m going to use up all the seafood in the freezer
and make a spicy seafood stew packed with all this seafood! ❤️🔥
I’ll add some cooking wine to remove the fishy smell and steam them for about 15 minutes.
The crabs steamed to perfection,
Now I'll steam the remaining seafood (prawns and mussels for about 5-6 minutes).
Since the prawns are a bit lacking, I’ll add some cocktail shrimp too 🦐
For about 400-500g of bean sprouts: 4 tbsp red pepper powder + 2 tbsp dashida + 1 tbsp minced garlic + 2 tbsp starch powder + pepper + ginger powder + 0.3 tsp salt + 130ml water
It’s a simple combination, but the sauce turns out spicy and full of umami.. 🥹🤍
Meanwhile, the shrimp has steamed to perfection.
You can steam all the seafood at once,
but I prefer to steam them separately to preserve their distinct flavors and textures.
I'll also steam the bean sprouts for about 5 minutes :)
If you steam the bean sprouts with the seafood, they release too much water, which ruins their crunchiness,
so it’s better to steam the seafood and bean sprouts separately.
This way, you can make a seafood stew that absorbs the sauce well without becoming watery ❤️🔥
The less moisture there is, the better the sauce gets absorbed by the ingredients, making the dish much more flavorful ❤️🔥
I’ll also make some rice balls to go with it 🍙
Furikake + sesame oil + mayonnaise
Since furikake is already seasoned, you don’t need to add any extra seasoning 🤍
Shape the rice into cute round balls using a rice mold,
and I’ll also add some flying fish roe for a nice popping texture 🐟
A drizzle of creamy, rich mayonnaise
and finish with a sprinkle of furikake
and there you have it, delicious flying fish roe rice balls 🍘
Today's drink is raspberry ade! 🍒
My husband brought this raspberry concentrate from his Bangkok trip,
and it's so refreshing and delicious..✨
The color is also so pretty and vibrant.
I took a sip as soon as I made it, yum 😋
Ahh ~
🐶 Uh... honey?
Look at this
🐶 Huh??
🐶 Are we camping today?
Well, I’m sure dinner will be delicious tonight!
🐶 It tastes like something from a restaurant.
Really?
🐶 Yeah~
🐶 It’s like a meal kit~
Honey, that’s the magic of MSG ^^
🐶 It tastes just like...
🐶 a commercial product.
🐶 Jihyun ~
Yes?
🐶 This is really delicious.
My husband was praising the seafood stew as he ate it.
Even though it’s a bit of extra work to steam the seafood and bean sprouts separately,
it’s so much more delicious because the texture and flavor are so much better.
Wrapping it in the flying fish roe rice balls makes it even tastier.
The crunchy bean sprouts
Honestly, the reason to make seafood stew is just to eat the bean sprouts...
Since even my husband, the "food critic," gave it his seal of approval,
I highly recommend this for your dinner menu too..🔥
It’s a seafood stew, but honestly, the bean sprouts taste even better than the seafood, haha.
I love the crunchy texture 🤤
?
Eating the leftover rice balls, stuffing them in my mouth...
Suddenly, I’m in full-on munching mode.
Editing late into the night left me starving, so...
I came for a late-night ramen snack (someone stop me).
The painful part of editing every time.
Editing footage of eating ramen, and then putting on a pot of water for myself.
Endless cycle.
What’s your favorite cup ramen, everyone?
I really love Neoguri, Yukgaejang, and Shin Ramyun The Red.
As a spice addict, I can't live without The Red anymore.
After eating The Red, regular Shin Ramyun just feels too mild...
Slurp.
Enjoying my favorite drama while having a late-night snack—this precious time.
It was such a happy moment 😂
It’s so good that I’m inhaling it without even breathing.
Ramen tastes even better when eaten late at night 🍜 🍜
Sorry to anyone watching this late at night...
I couldn't resist and went to put on a pot of water too.
After finishing the noodles, I was still craving more, so I added some cold rice to the broth... haha.
Going into full-on munch mode like a crazy person.
(It turns out it was the day before my period.)
I swear, this isn’t me eating—this is my hormones eating.
Says the munching maniac, justifying herself.
If you see this snack at the convenience store, you have to try it... it's so good!
After eating to my heart's content, I snuggled up with my kittens for a sweet sleep... 🥹🫧✨
There’s nothing better than falling asleep while snuggling with Pepper and Kane.
Everyone, I bought the cutest dishes ever.. 🍞
Adorable dishes shaped like slices of bread 🤎
The smaller ones are even cuter.
And the cups are so tiny and cute too 🥹
There’s even a cute little tray that comes with the set 🫢 Such a great find!
I debated whether to buy them, but I’m so glad I did—they’re just too cute.
Looking at them makes me want to have brunch right away.
Let’s wash the new dishes nice and clean 🧼
and then I’ll prepare breakfast.
I’m going to make a brunch that perfectly matches these cute bread-shaped dishes 🍞🤎
First, I’ll cut the soft bread into thick slices.
It’s delicious as is, but I’ll toast it for some extra crispiness 😋
Here comes the high-speed bread train 🚅🌪️
Snoopy-shaped bread, perfectly toasted and looking delicious.
Charlie Brown-shaped bread also came out perfectly toasted 🤍
While the bread cools a bit, I’ll get the sandwich ingredients ready.
My kitten comes running whenever he hears a can being opened 🥫🥫
😼 I heard a can being opened.
😼 Is that my tuna?
😼 I’ll wait patiently, so bring it over.
After battling with the Brie cheese for a while... I finally got it out, haha.
Almost broke up with Brie cheese today.
Brie cheese is very creamy and has a soft texture 🧀
It already has a buttery flavor, so there’s no need to add extra butter to the sandwich :)
And apples go perfectly with Brie cheese 🍎
Brie has a slightly salty and nutty flavor,
and the sweetness of the apple balances out the saltiness while adding a crunchy texture!
I’ll spread some whole grain mustard on the bread,
then add three slices of savory jambon 🥓
and a generous amount of creamy Brie cheese! 🧀
Crisp apple slices 🍎
and a good drizzle of sweet honey 🍯
Finish it off with some crunchy almonds, and the apple Brie cheese sandwich is ready 🥜🥜
I’ll add a bit of veggies on the side, just for my conscience 🥬
And I’ll also prepare some milk to drink with it 🤍
And there you have it—a super cute and delicious brunch.
Time to enjoy this meal 😋
Gulping down the milk first
Ahh~
Let’s start with the least appetizing-looking veggies.
And immediately cleanse my palate, haha.
Now, let’s try the sandwich..🤍
Hmm~??
This flavor is just so moving.
A refreshing and sweet sandwich that chases away morning drowsiness.
It’s not a heavy sandwich; it has a relatively light texture,
so it’s less burdensome to eat in the morning.
But as usual, eating it neatly was a total fail today too.
I had to open my mouth so wide that now my jaw hurts ^^
But I’m in a good mood because I had such a tasty breakfast 🥰
I’ll take a little break and then get ready to make lunch.
For today’s lunch, I’ll make my husband’s favorite—beef bulgogi 🥩
First, I’ll carefully remove the blood (to get rid of any gamey taste),
and then I’ll cut it into bite-sized pieces!
For 500g of meat: 4 tbsp soy sauce + 1 tbsp mirin + 1 tbsp corn syrup 1 tbsp sesame oil + 1 tbsp sugar + 1 tbsp minced garlic + 1 tbsp oyster sauce + 90ml pear juice
Pears contain enzymes that help break down proteins,
so if you marinate the meat with pear juice beforehand, it becomes more tender
and the texture becomes softer while also adding a natural sweetness 🫧
Bulgogi marinade is ready 😋
I’ll let it marinate in the fridge for about an hour! ❤️🔥
Meanwhile, let’s prepare some side dishes 👩🏻🍳
Today’s side dish, as usual, is rolled omelette.
I’m using furikake that I usually add to rice balls, but I’m sprinkling it on the eggs this time.
0.5 tbsp of tuna fish sauce for seasoning.
This makes it nice and savory 🐟
Since furikake already has a lot of umami,
I think it might have been even tastier without the tuna fish sauce... 🤍
Even with the same rolled omelette, just changing the ingredients slightly
makes it feel like a different dish each time! (Never gets old, always delicious)
🧀Adding cheese makes it creamy and rich. 🥬Adding vegetables makes it crunchy and healthy. 🐟Adding imitation crab or furikake makes it savory with a burst of umami.
The next side dish will be spicy seasoned bean sprouts.
For 300g of bean sprouts, add one cup of water (200ml) 💦
and steam them on high heat for about 6 minutes.
While the bean sprouts are steaming, I’ll slice the rolled omelette.
It was boiling so vigorously, I thought the lid might pop off.
The rolled omelette looks a bit like it has mold on it.
A...as long as it tastes good...
Here’s the speckled rolled omelette.
The noisy bean sprouts have steamed nicely.
For 300g of bean sprouts: 1 tbsp red pepper powder + 1 tbsp minced garlic + 0.3 tbsp salt + 1 tbsp anchovy fish sauce + 1 tbsp sesame oil
Mix them well, and you’ve got a crunchy bean sprout side dish.
The key is to steam the bean sprouts instead of boiling them in water 🌟
Now, let’s prepare the vegetables that will go into the bulgogi 🧅
Soft and fluffy king oyster mushrooms.
King oyster mushrooms stay firm even after cooking, giving them a chewy and elastic texture 😋
And of course, lots of chopped green onions.
Let’s add some enoki mushrooms too (more veggies than meat, haha).
Here’s the bulgogi that’s been marinating deliciously in the fridge.
I’ll stir-fry it in a heated pan.
Add all the prepped vegetables
and stir-fry on medium heat.
Stir-frying on medium heat allows the marinade to soak into the meat, making it tender and juicy.
When the meat is about 80% cooked, finish it off by adding the enoki mushrooms. 🤍
With all those mushrooms, the bulgogi had such a great texture... 🥹
I’ll garnish it with some red chili peppers.
And that’s it—savory and umami-packed bulgogi, ready to enjoy.
Today’s soup is clam miso soup. 🍲
It’s super convenient because all you have to do is add water.
Pouring the hot water like it’s an event.
(But personally, I didn’t really enjoy the taste of the clams...)
It was a bit lacking in ingredients, so I added a little extra.
Honestly, I prefer the miso soup I usually have :)
If you know of any better instant soups, please recommend them.. 🥹🤍
The soup is ready too 🚀🚀
Now, let’s enjoy lunch :)
Starting with a sip of the hot soup
🐶It’s really delicious~
Yes~~
My husband is so sweet, he enjoys everything I make.
The savory rolled omelette and the bulgogi—sweet and salty, they paired perfectly together.
The crunchy bean sprouts were also delicious,
but most of all, everything just tasted better because we ate together!
Now I’ll finish the meal with my husband 😋
For dinner tonight, we went out for some fusion Korean-Japanese cuisine.
🥗 Appetizers (Squid and tomato water kimchi, braised octopus, fried eggplant, foie gras mousse crackers)
My husband’s acquaintance recommended this place, saying it was delicious,
and it turned out to be great value for the price with good food and variety.
🥚 Braised dish (Crab rolled omelette)
This rolled omelette... was the best I’ve ever had in my life.
The texture was so springy and chewy, I couldn’t help but be amazed with every bite.
It’s the kind of flavor that I wish everyone could experience 🥹
🍝 Small dish (Truffle soybean noodles)
The signature dish, soybean noodles.
I usually don’t like soybean noodles (I almost never eat them),
but I devoured these... they were so good it felt like I could pass out from the flavor.
The texture was firm yet chewy.
🐟 Fish dish (Perilla oil carpaccio)
On the rocks with strawberry flavor 🍓
🐟 Grilled dish (Grilled freshwater eel)
The eel just melted in my mouth and disappeared.
🍲 Main dish (Chicken steak risotto)
🍲 Rice dish (Hot pot rice with blackthroat seaperch)
They even packed the hot pot rice into rice balls for us to take home... 🥹
🍲 Dessert (Melon and matcha)
After eating to our hearts' content, we finished off the weekend with a walk together.
That’s it for today’s video, everyone :)
Thanks for watching today’s video! I’ll pack even more fun into the next one, haha. So let’s meet again in the next video. Bye! ❤️
