We went camping at Lake Cahuilla in La Quinta, California. We had a great time watching the pelicans on the lake, hiking in the desert, and checking out the Salton Sea and the Joshua Tree South BLM lands for possible other camping. La Quinta is located in the California desert about halfway between Palm Springs and the south entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.

After a few days in La Quinta, we moved to the BLM camping south of Joshua Tree National Park for more desert adventures.
