This has got to be one of my favourite campsites now, in Peninsular Malaysia. Tanjung Hills Retreat Campsite, situated in Janda Baik, is just 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur on the road. Chilly weather, mountains in the horizon, cool clear stream flowing by - a retreat for the soul indeed. It was Day 2 of Raya (Eid) hence the sweat treat for me was a local Malay delicacy - Chicken Rendang & Lemang!
It's good to be back in Jandabaik and this time I am in Tanjong Hills.
Yep, I am picking this spot.
I think I found a better place to take a dip further away from the crowd.
It's 5.30 in the evening now and I actually did not have lunch. I just had a little snack.
So I'm gonna cook an early dinner and since it is the second day of Raya,
I've got quite a special Raya menu on the agenda. Let's get started on dinner.
So on my way up here, I saw this booth and of course I couldn't resist but to get one.
With this, I will be cooking chicken rendang. Well, I'm not from scratch of course. I'm no
master chef but yeah I think this will do good and I've got my chicken
toying under the evening sun. Let's get started.
Chicken rendang with lemang.
The temperature is just nice. Walking back to my tent, I bumped into the campsite owner.
We had a little morning chat while he took me on a walking tour around the campsite.
Many of them but not in Malaysia.
That's where the river comes from. So we are the first user of the river. Yes, we are the top most
so the water is very clean. Sometimes when I went hiking up the Gunung Nuang, I could drink up the
water from this river without processing or like nothing.
What I'm having for breakfast is the leftover of chicken rendang from last night. I've still got
half a pot left. Have it with my sourdough bread with eggs. So tiny.
I guess that's another wrap. See you guys again soon. Bye!
