Ragazzi, benvenuti a Taormina, the magical place in Sicily.
Touristy, but it's so beautiful.
We're a man to spend only one day in Sicily and ask,
what must one see?
I would answer him without hesitation, Taormina.
It is only a landscape, but a landscape where you find everything on earth
that seems to seduce the eyes, the mind, and the imagination.
We spent our honeymoon in Sicily
and we instantly fell in love with everything in Taormina.
Yes, it is a very touristy location with a lot of expensive shops
and a lot of expensive souvenirs.
However, the energy of this place is something that is very special
and has attracted people to it over generations and generations.
Taormina is a vibrant resort town where charm and elegance
meet ancient mythology and history.
In fact, it's home to one of the most famous Greek theaters in the world.
We were so excited to get back to this special city.
It was time to wander the streets, admire the architecture,
get lost in the lush landscapes and gardens,
admire the incredible ceramics and artwork,
and definitely, as you know, eat some amazing food.
So this is the way to go to the meadow, the course of Taormina,
and this is beside, so we can stay here quiet and walk and enjoy.
It is every little road is beautiful.
So you can go off to the path, you know, because it's everything amazing.
Where are we going now?
We are going to go to Verla Comunale,
which has a lot of really cool gardens and birdhouses and things, right?
Yeah, let's go explore.
The public gardens of Taormina are one of our absolute favorite spots
in the entire town.
They were founded and built by a Scottish noblewoman
who supposedly in the late 1800s was invited to leave England
after having an affair with the future king.
She ended up in Taormina and settled there,
planting incredible Mediterranean plants
and building structures which were called Victorian Follies.
She was a keen ornithologist and used these structures
to feed and study all of her amazing birds in the garden.
Now we are going to...
Uguale.
The glasses.
I like the Christmas tree.
I like this Christmas tree.
150.
Oh, 150?
Yeah, for the Christmas tree.
The ceramics in Sicily are truly captivating,
but you could get lost and spend hours in art workshops
and galleries in Taormina.
We really had to stop ourselves from coming home
with quite a few incredibly handcrafted souvenirs.
This is Taormina, this is Sicily.
All these colors, tiles, plates.
The decor is beautiful.
Everything is beautiful.
Look at the mailbox.
All the details, it's details.
Come check it out.
Art shop.
They care about the details.
Sotto il sole, sotto il sole.
Siamo in la linea.
Prende i biglietti, compri i biglietti prima.
If you know, if you're right here.
We just explore.
In this tier right now, they're doing a concert,
so you can see some construction,
but if not, it's not a concert at all,
so you can see without the fog.
But it's nice to come see a concert here.
It's beautiful, really beautiful.
I like it.
Now came in sandals.
Don't do it in sandals, that's for sure.
Somebody stood here and put this rock here.
They built it.
They put it here.
Somebody in history put this brick here,
and now I'm here touching it.
It's kind of weird to think about, right?
Yeah.
Me and this person, our lives are woven together
through years and years.
It's really cool.
It is.
I'm such a weirdo, but that's what I think about
whenever I see this stuff.
I must say.
I think it's so cool.
Wait, wait.
Thank you.
No, that's enough.
It's cool.
Worth the price?
No.
It should be half the price.
It was a little sad that it's set with all the lights
and everything for a show in the backdrop
because you can't see it.
Cool, but $5 with that thing.
Yeah.
Perfect, yeah.
Though it can definitely be argued that the shops
in Taormina are overpriced,
window shopping is totally free,
and we spent hours taking advantage
of all of the amazing shops and goods that you can find.
Look how cute.
Oh my gosh.
That is so adorable.
There are embroidered products and ceramics,
food items, local products.
The list goes on and on and on,
and you can spend a lot of time wandering around
finding treasures that can absolutely tempt you.
Look at this beautiful green and white.
I want that set for food.
Isn't that beautiful?
Yeah.
There's amazing granita here.
What flavor are you going to take, Amore?
Pistachio, because I haven't tried pistachio yet.
I have coffee, I have mandolins, so I go pistachio.
Okay.
You?
I don't know if I can go against my pistachio.
I think I might get another one.
Or I feel like cioccolata might be good.
Or limone.
Anche limone. It's thrashing, eh?
Maybe limone.
What did you order, Amore?
I ordered limone and kiwi.
And I got limone and lampone.
And lampone.
Prosperity.
This warm weather.
We need something refreshing.
Yeah.
With panna or without?
With panna.
But we don't take the brioche because we already had the brioche.
Maybe we need to calm down with the brioche.
Calm down with the brioche.
It's the best in Sicily.
It's the best.
Best in Sicily, right?
The best in the world.
So panna doesn't go with the fruit, but we add panna just to try the panna.
Because it's homemade.
Yeah, it's homemade.
Migliore in Sicily.
Buonissimo.
Andate, eh?
Look here.
You can never have too much.
No.
It's horrible.
Never too much.
Especially here.
We have to try everything.
When it's the best, it's the best.
So here we have Nutella.
This is peach and melon.
And then strawberry with the cream on top.
It's magic.
Oh my gosh, it's like eating a peach.
I think I just bit into a real peach.
This is a creamy one with latte.
Which one is your favorite?
No, these are the best I've ever had.
The best.
I've ever had.
Wow.
Strawberry is like eating a strawberry.
Just wait until you try the peach.
It's like biting into a fresh peach.
Whoa.
With the...
Right?
With the melone.
Nutella.
They're incredible.
Best granita in Northeastern.
I think best granita in the world.
And I could eat six of them and not feel it.
No, exactly.
It's not heavy at all.
We get some others.
This is so light and refreshing.
It's delicious.
It's good.
If you take a higher quality, you put less sugar.
When the quality is not the best, they put a little sugar to cover it.
The secret is the quality.
So what do you think?
Oh my gosh.
I could eat that for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
No, it is the best.
We keep saying it.
It's not even kidding.
No, this is the best.
Like...
In the world.
There's no argument.
No argument.
This is the best.
Dance with the music.
I'm embarrassed.
Can we get these shirts and walk around matching?
Absolutely not.
Come on.
This is totally American.
Like magic...
Even if we walk together, we're like...
Yeah.
Come on.
No, we know magic.
How much are they?
what are all of those heads doing on the balconies in Sicily?
There are actually two stories of their origin.
One is a little more gruesome than the other.
The most romantic version is that there was a noble girl
who fell in love with a Sicilian Moor.
And unfortunately, their romance was not allowed
and they were not allowed to get married.
They were unfortunately killed.
And the Sicilians created these planters
in order to keep their love alive and to honor their memory.
Since I was at the restaurant I saw you passing by,
can I take a picture with you?
Sure.
Because my daughter wants it.
Yes, yes.
I'll take a picture with you.
Fabiola is not one of those very social people.
But she follows the people she likes.
Especially for food.
So she told me,
yes, I follow them, I know them.
Very good.
Ricotta with pears, maybe one or one pistachio.
I like this one.
You can taste it.
I'm going to cry.
The shell is perfect.
The cream is perfect.
Then we have the ricotta,
around the mezzo pane.
I made it with almonds.
And then, as a top, the chili.
It's a real delight.
It's beautiful.
The eyes.
It's as good as cannoli for me.
Maybe it's the best.
It's a delicious thing.
But I'm not a fan of cannoli.
When did these come out?
Now.
As soon as you make it.
In the video.
It's so cute.
Look how cute it is.
So everything in together.
Go.
It's wonderful, right?
This is...
Wait, there's more happening.
That is one of the best desserts in the world.
Like you said, it's the ingredients.
Can you smell the pasticceria?
Can you smell it?
I think it's going to pass through the camera.
Into the nose of whoever's watching this.
The fragrance in here is everything sweet and cozy.
And like bread.
Like sweet bread.
And he said, the secret for the granita is the high-quality ingredients.
And the secret here is also the high-quality ingredients.
It's so amazing.
You know, I've always wanted to try marzipan.
Oh yeah, first time.
I've never had it, but I love the nutcracker.
The ballet.
And one of the people, they're the marzipan people.
And I thought, oh wow, it's so beautiful.
I need to try marzipan.
It is delicious.
And it's warm.
It's something incredible.
What's this one?
Wow.
Pasticceria Milatauro.
It's fabulous.
Fabulous.
So in this...
What is this?
Piazza, you know, with a lot of trees.
You come in.
You come down.
You have Pasticceria Milatauro.
And then around the corner, you have Bombar.
Around the corner and down.
So you have both in the same.
Amazing.
I'm having a hard time leaving this place without buying more.
Yeah.
Alessio, stop me.
I mean, I'm full.
I'm full too, but it's for later on it.
Not now.
Later.
On the travel.
If we're driving through Sicily, you want a little...
A little...
What do they call it?
Marzipan?
Strawberry?
You got it.
I got it.
It was such a blessing that we went back into the Pasticceria
because we got to hear from the owner
how they give back to their community at the end of every day.
She told us the story of a homeless man
who didn't have any food to eat.
And so at the end of the day,
she brought out all of the unsold pastries and shared them with him.
And now they make it a tradition
to give away all of their unsold pastries.
She told us that pastry is her passion
and it is such a joy for her
to be able to share it with those less fortunate.
It's wonderful.
Thank you.
You're very kind.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Thank you.
The Pasticceria is a passion.
A circle is a circle.
I hope so.
We all have a passion.
We've shared it with our children.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
There's a lot of empathy.
Thank you.
We'll be waiting for you again.
Bye.
Thank you.
Bye.
I love them.
Yes.
Wow.
So, so good.
So they were already offered to the people there.
Just because they were there talking
and they go there, they offer.
Every night, they offer people.
Because maybe they make it.
And then if what they don't finish,
they just give away everybody for do refresh the day after.
It's incredible.
The kindness is incredible.
The generosity.
Yeah.
I can't believe it.
I'm so happy in this moment.
Emotional stuff.
Yeah.
Your favorite.
He's our best friend.
Yeah.
Your favorite.
Whenever we have this, we never eat bad.
Yeah.
Your favorite.
I know.
Sponsor me.
Please.
I love you.
Actually, we're going to try
Jesse a la Norma, pasta a la Norma.
And after this bus, no.
And I have truffles with tuna.
With capers and olives.
It sounds really good, your plate.
Pasta a la Norma.
This smells so good.
Try it.
And it has eggplant, which you know I love eggplant.
Yeah.
I love truffles.
Wow, my God.
Really good.
Here we are.
In our little...
Our little cute...
This...
Okay, ragazzi.
I don't think we told you.
But...
But Alessio and I came to Sicily for our honeymoon.
Four years ago.
And when we visited Taormina, we stayed in this hotel.
So we decided to come back here.
We have a different room.
But...
Same view.
So actually we have the terrace last time.
Same view.
Yeah, we have the terrace.
This time we booked late.
Okay, new adventure.
Yeah.
We drank too.
Notta.
Are we staying?
Just for...
Look.
I know.
Push it.
Which one?
That one.
So this is...
One, two, three.
This is always confusing to me.
T is terra, like ground.
Ciao.
