We Tried Every Fast Food Kids Meal
Today we are trying every fast food kid's meal
and we're gonna rate them on three different categories.
Value, taste, and of course, kid ability.
Which means, do they have a good toy?
How cool is this toy?
Would kids like it?
How much are kids gonna enjoy it?
The experience, like is it kid-centered?
Stay tuned to the end because we're gonna show you guys
one of our favorite places to get a kid's meal
because of a very special thing that comes along with it.
What are we getting at McDonald's?
A kid's meal.
Good afternoon, will you be using the app today?
I will not, I'll just be ordering regular.
You're fine, what can I get for you?
I'm gonna do a Happy Meal with six piece nugget.
Are you eating a beef stick right now?
Because of how hungry you are?
Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, I'm so hungry.
We have vested interest in this
because we have two little kids,
so we need to be well-versed in this area.
Apple slices.
Let's go.
Literally the tiniest little bit of fries I've ever seen.
Wait, I remember at McDonald's,
apples used to taste like chemicals.
No, this is fire.
I think these apples are fantastic.
Can I have these apples?
They're crispy, they're crunchy, they're so moist.
My only critique is where's the caramel dipping sauce?
When I was a kid, we had caramel dipping sauce.
You're right.
Tiny fries, this is a disappointing amount of fries.
I understand we're trying to be healthy and stuff.
You gotta give us more fries than that.
Okay, let me try the fries.
McDonald's fries are actually really good.
I think they're amazing.
Let go of them.
I could eat these, I could eat these weekly.
Check out the nugs.
I feel like McDonald's nuggets are different
than nuggets anywhere else.
The hot mustard is good.
What do we got here?
Creamy chili is good too.
That just took me to flavor town right there.
I used to be so confused as a kid.
I was like, what part of a chicken is this?
It's ground chicken.
Oh yeah.
That they just form into nuggets.
Yeah, chickens don't come out looking like that.
As far as value goes, I'm going to give this kid's meal.
It's kind of on the higher end.
I'm gonna give it an eight out of 10.
I'm actually impressed.
I think this is a decent value.
Eight is good for value.
Taste, I'm gonna give it an eight as well.
Something I like about McDonald's toys
is that they usually have like Disney,
like actual, the new movies the little kids
are talking about.
Like it's always like very relevant.
Yes.
So this is from the new Disney movie
that's literally in theaters right now called Elio.
Oh.
I don't know what you're supposed to do with this.
What is the purpose of?
Oh.
Oh, it's a shooter.
Oh, maybe you shoot this at people.
This whole meal feels like it gets a 10 for kid-ability.
26 out of 30 for McDonald's.
26 out of 30.
We're just gonna go ahead and get a kid's meal.
Like a cheeseburger.
Yeah, cheeseburger.
Say it with confidence.
And uh.
So in the meal, it's not as good a presentation,
but they do have a little maze you can do there,
which is kind of fun.
We got fries here, and we got a cheeseburger.
The fries are much bigger, but you don't get apples,
which I feel like as a parent,
I hate to admit how much that little bit of apples
just makes me feel a little peace of mind.
This meal also looks a little bit small.
We didn't get our apple juice.
No.
Getting the apple juice.
Well.
Hello.
I'm so sorry, I just didn't get the apple juice.
Here's the thing.
If we would've gotten all the way home,
we forgot an apple juice,
that would've been pretty sad for a kid.
He's coming back.
Here we are.
Oh.
Hey, this is actually a really good brand of apple juice.
No sugar added.
I've never drank it, but we've given these to our kids a lot.
That definitely tastes like there's no sugar added.
I would take off points for taste, but.
Why do our kids drink these like it's crack?
This tastes like water.
And like you burped it after you ate an apple.
Three, two, one.
You have nose hairs.
I do.
That's kind of romantic.
It's good.
It kind of just tastes exactly
how I thought it was gonna taste, to be honest.
For value, I'm going to give this a 10.
I think it's a top.
For taste, it is a five.
Kid ability is nine.
So that brings our total to, is that a 24?
We should head on to the next place.
We're going to Chick-fil-A.
My goodness.
Are you guys seeing this line?
It's 3.40 PM.
What is everybody doing here?
Back to school season is in full swing, you guys.
Everyone's getting their backpacks packed,
their little lunchboxes.
And what a more perfect thing to throw in a backpack,
throw in a lunchbox, than a Chomps stick, you guys.
I have been a long time fan of Chomps.
I'm telling you, my body composition at this point
is probably at least 5% Chomps
because I eat one of these every single day.
And Abby typically does the original flavor,
but did you know that Chomps has other flavors,
including a barbecue flavor?
Comment down below your favorite flavor of Chomps.
Let me tell you why these are so good.
Zero sugar.
10 grams of protein.
100 calories.
And it's really high quality protein
because they use grass-fed and finished beef.
And their animals are never treated
with antibiotics or hormones.
They're also gluten-free
and three of the top nine food allergens,
which also makes it an excellent back-to-school snack
because it's school safe.
You can take to school,
don't have to worry about other kids having a reaction to it.
They also have little mini Chomplings that we give our kids.
Those have four grams of protein in them
and they're just like the perfect size.
Stock up on Chomps for this back-to-school season
and for that on-the-go convenience
and click the link in the description to learn more.
I love these beef boys.
Literally, I have one of these every single day.
How else do you think I got these games?
Oh, baby.
Holy crap, guys.
Somehow we ended up with a little cow.
The manager told us that she watches our videos
and they're having a competition amongst the coworkers
to see who can sell the most cows.
So we bought one.
It might've been $10.
Matt was like, is it for a charity or something?
And she was like, no.
Our kids will love the cow.
Look at this amount of price.
Oh, baby.
Can we just-
And there's more in the bag.
Okay, let's see how many nuggets.
It's six nuggets.
Chick-fil-A probably has some of the best fast food fries.
They're waffle fries, okay?
They're so hot.
They're so crispy.
Let me try this chicken nugget.
Oh.
Really good.
It just tastes like you're biting into real chicken.
That's not ground chicken like McDonald's.
That's like a- No.
It's a piece of chicken.
You can get a diet lemonade,
which is what we get because it's sweetened with Splenda.
They make their lemonade with water, sugar, and lemons.
That's it.
Unless you get the diet one, which is Splenda,
but it's so good. Water, Splenda, and lemons.
And it's really good.
Taste, I'm gonna give this a 10 out of 10.
10 out of 10 for taste.
What do we think about value, baby?
Eight and a half.
I'm gonna give it a nine.
Look at how much fries that is.
Nine, okay.
Look at all those fries.
We got this Chick-fil-A toy,
which by the way, you can trade in the toy for an ice cream.
You already had an ice cream from Burger King.
It's not advertised on their sign though.
Yeah, they need to advertise that.
But if you take the toy back,
they will give you an ice cream, which is so nice.
How's that toy coming along?
You want me to take over?
Am I stupid?
We are adults and we can't figure out how this toy works.
So I don't know about kid-ability here.
I think for kid-ability with the toy,
I would have given it like a three out of 10.
Part of that is because oftentimes they'll give books
as toys, which I think is super lame.
If you're gonna give a book as a toy
at a fast food restaurant,
you need to get your priorities straight, okay?
I agree.
Kids want a cool toy.
If we wanted a book, we'd go to a bookstore.
Go to the library.
Because of the ice cream aspect.
A six for kid-ability.
I'm gonna give it a seven.
Seven, okay.
So we got a 10, a nine, and a seven.
So that puts it at 26.
Which was the same as McDonald's.
This is better than McDonald's.
Sorry, we're gonna have to bump it up a point.
Value and taste is 10 out of 10.
27 out of 30.
Next up, drum roll please.
We're going to Jack in the Box.
Ow, Gabby's biting my arm.
What is wrong?
Don't put it in my face like that.
Don't bite my arm.
What is wrong with you?
It's so meaty.
I'm just gonna do a kid's meal, please.
It's looking a little suspicious, guys.
Initial impressions of the bag and the smell, I don't know.
The fries are soggy, but they're good.
Really?
It seems like they have like a seasoned salt on them.
Can you put that in?
Wait, yeah, I do.
I do kind of like the fries, actually.
We got a sourdough grilled cheese,
which is a unique offering.
I will give them that.
Yeah, look at that.
That's kind of fun.
I feel like I'm eating a loaf of bread.
Yeah.
But they do have honey garlic sriracha sauce.
Why don't you dip it in there?
Yeah, should we dip it in there?
You dip it in for me and then give me a,
oh, you don't like it?
I don't like it.
Okay, let me try it.
I don't like that at all.
Are you seriously eating a chopstick right now?
I need a palate cleanser.
What the heck?
This does not look like a kid's meal.
There's no toy.
There's no toy?
The bag is lame.
You guys don't have a toy?
So taste is going to be a six,
kid ability is a three,
and value will give a 10.
The value does not get a 10.
I mean, it's $4.99 for a kid's meal.
It's the lowest price we've seen.
Can we just say nine?
Nine, okay.
This gets an 18 out of 30.
Now we're going to the one and only Cane's, Raising Cane's.
Hi, I'm just going to do a kid's meal, please.
The lady was so nice.
Kaylee, who gave us our meal.
I don't want to say anything bad about this.
Bag is cute.
Wait, that is cute.
The toy is actually so fun.
It's a little twisty flyer.
So like, you know these things that you can like shoot
and then it spirals up?
This is actually a really good toy.
That's amazing, I love it.
Okay, here is the meal.
There's no healthy component to speak of.
Absolutely not, yeah.
Definitely not a healthy component.
Oh, I dropped a fry.
I can't seem to get this straw, like, opened.
I don't know.
Can you figure this out?
I don't understand.
Isn't that hard?
They only give you two chicken nuggets
or chicken tenders with a kid's meal,
but these are pretty big.
Wow.
This isn't coming out.
You're going to have to use a different straw.
Try a little sip of that sweet tea.
I love sweet tea.
I grew up in Missouri.
I drink sweet tea all the time
with my grandparents growing up.
That's really good.
But like, would you really give that to your kids
with the caffeine in it?
Absolutely not.
I'll take a little tiny nibs.
That's good.
Would you agree with me
that the fries are a little underwhelming?
The fries are very basic.
I will give you that.
They kind of taste like cafeteria fries.
For value, it's $7.57.
I got to tell you, Matt,
I don't think it's a great value.
Well, it's $6.99 before tax.
Yeah, I don't think it's a great value.
You only get two tenders,
and it just all fits in this little tiny box.
Can we give it a five out of 10 for value?
Oh, yeah.
I would say at least, maybe a six.
What about taste?
I would say it's like an eight, maybe a seven.
I would say an eight, but you're saying seven.
What do we, do we seven and a half?
Seven and a half.
Seven and a half, okay.
And for fitability, seven.
The toy is fun.
Why not an eight for fitability?
That's a cool, that's a cool toy.
Eight.
21.5.
I'm telling you, I don't think this would be a hit
with our children.
Do we have one more place?
One more place, baby.
This one's gonna be hard to beat,
and you guys all know that.
Not only does this place give you
a delicious butter burger, crispy crinkle cut fries,
a toy, they also give you a free scoop of custard
with a topping. With a topping.
And a drink.
You also get a drink.
We're going to none other than
Wisconsin's finest Colbert's.
Do you know where you're going?
No.
I'm going to do a butter burger kids meal
with a free scoop as the flavor of the day.
This custard looks incredible.
Look at this.
Abby, take a bite of the custard.
Thank you.
I thought you'd never give me that.
You guys.
I'm going to get you the first bite.
Oh yeah.
That's premium.
It's big too.
Kids would have so much fun picking out a topping.
Yes, you can pick out.
Don't get my names.
This alone, places sell stuff like this for like $5.
Check out what's in this kids meal too.
You got that ice cream,
but then you also have healthy portion of fries
and a big burger.
We're talking about a $14 value for the price of 6.99.
It is such a good deal.
The burger's huge and it's really good.
Let me take a bite.
Oh my gosh.
This burger would fill me up as a full grown adult.
Oh my gosh.
That has a big appetite.
Fries, really good.
Heck yeah.
Who can go to Colbert's without walking out
with a root beer.
Yes.
That's what they're known for guys.
And it's so good.
I think for value that this deserves a 10 out of 10.
As a full grown adult,
I would be very full eating all this.
And it's just 6.99.
And I'd be very satisfied too
because you got the sweet treat,
you got the thick juicy burger.
Look at that.
And look at this.
Look at that burger.
Value, 10 out of 10.
Taste, what do you say?
Nine?
I'm gonna give it a nine out of 10 for the taste.
Nine out of 10.
And kid-ability, nine and a half.
I think I'm going nine.
Nine.
So now we're at a 28 out of 30.
I think this is our winner baby.
This can't be beat guys.
I mean, I'm sorry.
You can comment down below.
I'll be like, oh, you should go to blah, blah, blah.
I'll try it.
But I just don't believe you can beat Culver's.
No shot.
All right, guys.
Well, we did this so you don't have to.
Just, you can thank us in the comments.
This was really just a civic duty.
