Koko Head Crater Sunrise + Sad Goodbyes | Oahu Day 5

it's our last day in Hawaii well we're gonna make the most of it which is basically there's like old railway up this side of this crater there's hot 1048 basically steps so it's basically like a Stairmaster the entire way up it was very hard it was a lot harder than I thought it would be I heard it was hard but my legs are burning so get to the top it's an awesome place to watch the Sun Rise so right now we're facing east and we can already see the pink in the sky I'm really excited to see the Sun rise up here we're the only one in our spot right now but there are definitely more people coming we're on this like metal grate thing which is kind of slick so it was a little tricky getting up here but absolutely worth it worth getting up at 3:30 this morning it's gonna be the best way to end our trip Hawaii [Music] [Music] sunrise was really beautiful definitely got a lot busier so we kind of ducked out of the main area found some hidden spots and now we're headed back down we have a feeling it's gonna suck a little bit more than coming up it's gonna be more steep going down and slick - there's a wood Lance - so so what's just look so the next part of a hike is the bridge so it's basically little wooden slats but instead of like dirt and rock underneath it's just open and I think it's like they're really good 86 40 to 80 foot drop I don't I know that's a big range but I don't remember but there's stuff the hold onto and we did it in the dark just fine so I'm gonna try it again in the light even though it's my least favorite part of this hike [Music] I did it I know I drop off something a little scared go ahead done oh that's a bucket list er yeah but a leg buster - yeah oh man legs burned going up and so we went up in the dark at like 5:30 a.m. because sunrise was that like 648 and it took us about 35 minutes to get up there and then going down it took us about 40 but we had to like pull over for pain we stopped a bit Enix photos videos so um going down is actually easier than I thought it would be it was more just like mentally like keeping your eyes on the ground because yeah it's easier to slip when you're going downhill and it was slick too though because of the morning dew so like the real railway ties there would obviously so like the dew sets in on it and it's just like so be careful we don't wear flip-flops if you go do this and if we highly recommend sunrise and bring a headlamp I think it's 1.8 miles round trip but it's all uphill so there's no no uh no ease enough yeah and you will be sweating buckets we were drenched given in the darks so don't come when the sun's out cuz you will be miserable [Music] we're at halona beach Cove which is right by the halona blowhole it's just like kind of a quick walk down the side of this cliff which sounds scarier than it actually was to get this small little beach you can see the beach from up at the blowhole viewing area but it's pretty cool to come down here the water super blue it's pretty secluded not many people out here this is cool little cave I'm shaking I'm shaking to go all the way through its pretty long it's like 60 yards you can go all the way through though but we're chicken there's a people swimming but the waves seem a little too scary for my liking people jumping in right now but they're probably locals and know what they're doing I hope so the beach that we hiked down to halona beach actually been the backdrop for mini movies TV shows and music videos so Pirates of the Caribbean has been filming their key first dates and then I just overheard someone saying in a Nicki Minaj my girl Mickey music video has been filmed there as well as Elvis so pretty awesome no filming there today obviously but that gave us a chance to go down there and see it for ourselves [Music] right where my cup overlooked Thanks look at this get this water someone else please [Music] all right our second to last stop in Hawaii is Waimanalo Beach which is a beach kind of on the southeast side of the island really beautiful the water is so blue and that's actually really empty it's also on Monday we realized that the reason why a lot of things were probably busy areas because the first four days of our trip were like Thanksgiving again so it's Monday today things are a lot quieter here so we have a ton of this Beach to ourselves water is a little wavy but it's some of the bluest water we've seen on this trip gonna catch some last minute waves get some last minute rays do a little bit of swimming lay out a little bit just soak up the beach so a couple water hookup the Sun before we head back to rainy Seattle we're going home I thought we moved here I'm so confused I love my home but I love it here yeah our true home in our heart is Hawaii we do love you Seattle though you're beautiful we get really sad for a while after we leave Hawaii until we come back so we got to start planning our next trip [Music] [Laughter] I final stop before the airport which we're still undecided if we're gonna go there or not I vote no see where it comes from there but we're at Alejandra's tacos we got the combo plate so there's a beef a pork one and I'm not sure if the other one I think carne asada and it comes with beans and rice got an arc chapter here and a bottle of water boring so we're gonna give this shot I'm so hungry and it's gonna be delicious we love tacos so [Music] touches on a plus Carnot dump some fellow punch to it from being [Music] Castellanos onion probably narrows also in there excellent excellent day actually [Music] while we're at the airport yep so I guess we're going home probably for the best we missed Kona a ton and we know she misses us at I'm sure hope so we hope so at least that's the silver lining despite being incredibly bummed out that we have to leave we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to come to a Wahoo and for our chance to go to Hawaii for the second time this year we just love it here so much and it makes us so happy and this trip was just so perfect yeah great food great hikes beaches are of course awesome we had sweet treats on top of sweet treats on top of sweet treats too much too much we'll be hitting the gym
