NICU babies at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia get spooky for Halloween
all right finally up for no tricks here
just a lot of treats Children's Hospital
is giving us an early glimpse of the
pumpkins and Penguins in the NICU this
Halloween and for one local family this
tradition is bringing some normaly to
their Hospital stay when you're a NICU
parent um you kind of grieve a lot of
things you grieve the loss of bringing
your baby home in a normal environment
and when they have events like Halloween
or their childlife team does special
things with the kids it it gives you
something to look forward to it brings
the family together and allow other
children so terara Reed says events like
this certainly lighten the load her son
Theodore was born at Chop's special
delivery unit on June 11th and she says
his diaphragm didn't form correctly and
some of his organs migrated into his
chest after several grueling months in
the NICU he is celebrating his very
first Halloween like many other babies
there Theodore is dressing up as a
penguin and other cuties dressed as baby
cows a surgeon and a
superhero it's just nice to see other
people celebrating your baby and doing
things that are to be expected even
though we're in this unexpected scenario
yeah Reed says the costumes are a family
affair Theodore has an older brother who
decided to switch his costume from a
snowman to a penguin to match his baby
brother so cute welcome sense of normaly
for those families awesome so cute
