today I want to talk about the biggest
misunderstandings people have about
Islam since I become a Muslim I've
gotten a lot of questions and I've
noticed that there are so many
misunderstandings about Islam so I
thought I'd go over the five biggest
misunderstandings people have the first
one is that Islam is a violent religion
this might be the most common one and I
think it's because people often see news
stories or images that make Islam seem
violent but actually Islam is a religion
of peace and mercy the word Islam even
comes from the word for peace in the
Quran there are many verses that talk
about peace kindness and love for others
Muslims pray five times a day often
praying for peace the Quran also teaches
that harming innocent people is
completely wrong of course there are few
people who do wrong things but they
don't represent Islam at all uh I think
maybe you've heard a sentence that uh
Islam is perfect but people are not so
the actions of a few don't Define a
whole religion the second
misunderstanding is that Islam limits
woman's rights some people think that
Muslim woman are firstc to cover
themselves or that they don't have equal
rights but in Islam woman's rights are
very important Muslim woman often choose
to wear the hijab as a way to protect
their modesty Islam also gave woman
rights in marriage education and work
before Islam woman in many cultures had
very few rights but Islam brought
changes that protected woman's
inheritance education and other rights
so Islam's teachings are actually about
respecting and protecting woman not
restricting them and the third
misunderstanding is that all Muslims are
Arab uh there are so many
misunderstanding about this many people
think Islam and Arab culture are the
same but actually most Muslims are not
Arab Islam is practiced by people all
over the world from many different
cultures and languages for example
Indonesia has the largest Muslim
population in the world and there are
also many Muslims in places like
Pakistan and Nigeria even in India Islam
isn't about forcing everyone into one
culture it allows people to practice
their faith while keeping their own
culture Traditions so I'm Korean so I
can follow the Korean tradition if it's
not against the value of Islam so
Muslims around the word live out their
faith in different ways depending on
their culture the forth misunder
understanding is that Muslims don't like
people from other religion some people
think Muslims avoid or dislike
non-muslims but Muslims are actually
taught to treat everyone with kindness
and fairness Islam teaches that being
kind and just to others is very
important the prophet Muhammad peace be
upon him had positive relationships with
people of other religions and taught
Muslims to live peacefully with others
Islam doesn't teach Muslims to only love
other Muslims instead it teaches us to
live in peace with all people no matter
what they believe the last
misunderstanding is that Islam is
against science some people think that
Islam and science don't go together but
actually Islam values knowledge and
learning in the past Muslim Scholars
made many important discoveries in
fields like mathematics astronomy and
Medicine Islam encourages people to
explore and understand the word singing
it as a way to learn more about God's
creation for example Scholars like uh
Cena contribute a lot to science and
medicine in the Quran there are even
verses that encourage people to study
and explore nature so Islam doesn't
reject science it actually encourages it
and actually there are so many science
itself in Quran I will tell you about
this in other video so those are five
biggest misunderstandings people often
have about Islam in my experiences these
misunderstandings come from a lack of
information because they don't know
about this so they feel afraid I think I
think that's it Islam is a religion of
Peace wisdom and respect for others so I
hope today's video helped you understand
Islam a little bit better and thank you
so much for watching and if you have any
more questions feel free to leave them
in the comments then and I will search
and then let's study together then I
will see you in the next video thank you
for watching my video take care and be
safe alhamdulillah
