The accident happened a year and half ago.
I am back walking/hiking but still in pain. I have good days and bad days. I am grateful to be back on my feet and able to enjoy the great outdoors.
I want to take the opportunity to thank the amazing Mountain Rescue and Ambulance/ Hospital staff for being so wonderful, supportive, funny and professional. I had been thinking of supporting the Mountain Rescue for a long time but never really got around it. Needless to say I am doing it now and I hope that my monthly donation will help other people in need.
Stay safe and enjoy the mountains :)
Today I am going to climb in an area which is boggy and wet most of the year. I want to climb
two mountains and let's see how it goes. Will my feet get soaking wet or not? Actually we have had
quite a few weeks very hot and dry weather, so I am hoping that my feet will stay dry.
But let's go and find out.
Another break before this little woodland ends and I will be in a very exposed area,
exposed to this sun. It is actually quite nice to sit here and listen to a cuckoo bird.
I was hoping to wash my hands here, but it's so dry and this water looks so stagnant here.
I might still wash my hands, but I'm not going to take any drinking water from here.
Back there are the dots that I want to climb very soon, hopefully this summer.
And I can see a zigzag route up. I'm assuming that this is the route that I'm going to take.
I have just tried to take some photos of me having all these lovely mountains as a backdrop, but
I haven't got a tripod for my phone, so it was a bit tricky. The phone fell over constantly,
but I was able to take some photos. All these midges, gosh!
More and more of them. Oh, I think I need to go to my tent to hide from the midges.
The sunset is beautiful, but I can't go out at night because of those midges, gosh!
They're everywhere and they bite. I'm going to kill them one by one.
I really want to see the sunset.
Gosh, I just want my tent to fall over. This is an interesting way of admiring sunset.
If I turned my tent slightly to the right, then I would have been able to see through the mesh,
but I wasn't sure exactly where, you know. It's sad, but in five minutes time I think it will be
behind the mountains anyway. Now through the long grass and moss. I am lucky that it's
it's actually quite exciting to find my own way and not follow the
path. I really needed a break in the shade. It was getting too hot.
