Hey everyone! It's Peter and Oni! Together we are Two Hungry Lanterns!
Well guys, welcome to another video! In Singapore!
This is our second hotel that we stay in Singapore.
This is Hilton Hotel on Orchard Road. Yeah, we're gonna do a full review again.
You might have seen the Marina Basin video and this one is gonna be in the similar format.
So hotel review, full review, full experience staying at Hilton Hotel on Orchard Road.
So yeah, for this property here, as you guys might know, this is kind of like a brand new property.
But the building itself is not new, they just took over the old Mandarin Hotel on Orchard.
But they kind of refurbished everything and our first impression is really good.
I love the design, simple, minimalist and very modern.
Yes, oh we forgot to mention guys, this review here is based on our card membership member with
Hilton, we are a gold member. So you might find that maybe our experience has a bit more benefits
than the regular people who stayed in this hotel. Yes, for example we get the complimentary breakfast.
Yes, which is the staff mentioned is super good. We're gonna check out tomorrow.
And also we got an upgrade from a deluxe room to a premium room or premier room,
something like that. City view with Orchard. The one thing that we also like about this room
that the bathroom has a bathtub. We're not sure if we're gonna use it but still very nice.
Something that we didn't find in Marina Basin, in our room.
And one last thing before we're gonna, you know, shower and test the bed. There's another surprise
as a Hilton gold member, we receive like a very nice touch, like a cake from the hotel manager.
This is because of the Hilton Honest Gold member, so you might not find the same experience if you
don't have the gold membership. It's nice to know that as a member, they value your loyalty.
Anyway guys, don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more hotel review videos.
Hopefully in the future. Yes.
The check-in experience was pretty seamless. The staff was very attentive. The layout of the hotel
may seem a little confusing to those who have never been there. The ground floor functions as
reception area for guests. Check-in desks are located on the fifth floor where restaurant and
swimming pools are located. Hilton has chosen a more enclosed low ceiling and intimate space for
the check-in area. You can relax on the large sofa while your room is being prepared and enjoy the
modern minimalist decor throughout. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived. The staff kindly
told us to return when the hotel contacted us.
The hotel houses 1,080 rooms across two towers. Our hotel was the renovated premium city view room
measuring 29 square meter and featuring a separate bathtub and shower. The room has ample of space
for two and a coffee table, chaise lounge, a king-size bed we wanted to sink in all day.
And for in-room entertainment, there's a 55-inch LED TV. There's also his and her open wardrobe
space hidden behind a 55-inch LED TV. The open wardrobe concept instantly caught our attention
which we considered to be smart use of space. If you are particular about bathrooms like we are,
you won't be disappointed with the one here. The bathroom is fitted with marble furnishing and a
large LED mirror. The hotel has also impressively outfitted each of its rooms with a bathtub to
enjoy a leisurely soak along with a separate walk-in rain shower. We immediately fell in love
with the room's modern and minimalist style. The room is comfortable yet practical enough to stay
all day when work beckons or return to after a long day out.
Alright guys, we've done the mandatory bed jump test and honestly it's super nice. Yes,
I think it's kind of better than the Marina Bay Sands one. I prefer this bed actually.
Yeah, maybe because it's still relatively new as well, right? But the truth is in the pudding.
We're gonna sleep here tonight and then we'll give you guys the footage tomorrow.
But in the meantime, we want to try this cake here because it looks super tempting. Once again,
thank you Hilton for sending us this cake. I think at the bottom it's kind of brownie.
Or sponge, chocolate sponge cake, I think. Very chocolatey, love it.
I like it. Okay guys, we're gonna continue the review of this hotel tomorrow. We're gonna get
some good night rest tonight and we'll take you around the property tomorrow. So, stay tuned!
Breakfast is served at Estate from 6.30am to 10.30am daily and it costs 38 Singapore dollars
plus tax per adult. Estate is a gorgeous venue to behold. The lighting is warm and inviting,
featuring residential style open kitchens. There was a wide selection of breakfast items to choose
and they were neatly arranged and regularly replenished. This includes freshly baked goods,
bread, cereal, fresh DIY salad, fresh fruits, yogurt, and many more. Various dishes can be
made to order or you can pick up from the trays if you are in a rush. A variety of freshly squeezed
and made juice were also available. It is rare to see this type of service nowadays as most hotel
ops were ready to drink juices. For day one, we tried their congee, nasi lemak, Indian roti,
dim sum selection, and freshly squeezed juice from the juice station. For the first option that I
always get in a hotel breakfast, normally it's the congee because it's gentle for your stomach,
for my stomach especially. But this selection from Hilton Hotel is crazy. They even have ikan bilis,
more selection of the pickles, and of course Chinese donuts.
Very very comforting, hits the spot. For day two, we tried their egg on toast,
cooked to order chicken noodle soup, fried rice along with some cold cuts,
and of course fresh juice which the staff happily whipped up for us. Overall, the breakfast was one
of the highlights of our stay. Our experience with the food and the selections available every
morning was excellent and we would certainly recommend it if you are staying here.
Good morning everyone. Well, we already like well rested or so we already have some breakfast early
in the morning and we tried that amazing breakfast they serve at the estate. So amazing. Honey, what
do you think about the bed situation? Oh, amazing guys. The bed is high quality. I love the pillow,
I love the sheet cover with I don't know how many thousand thread counts. Very nice feeling.
All I know, Honey is sleeping like a log basically these last two days. Okay, one thing we haven't
shown you guys is the city view. So let's check it out with me. I don't think you can, it's kind
of like stuck together. So I don't know if we can kind of like open this curtain. I don't know how
basically it's kind of like stuck together like this. But wow, look at this view. Well, you get
an amazing view of the Orchard Road. To be honest with you, not many you can see straight across
apart from like other buildings and skyscrapers and other hotels, Holiday Inn Express. Yeah, I
think it's very nice. But one thing that we probably don't like is the noise from the road,
right? Yeah, because it's so empty. I think during the middle of the night, you can hear cars passing
by basically. That's probably what we don't like about this. But the view is okay. I think we're
not gonna brag anything about it. Anyway, that's it from the view. Let's check out other part of
the hotel. Buddhists have a plethora of dining options to look forward to at Hilton Singapore
Orchard. The reimagined Hilton shines with five vibrant restaurants helmed by all-day buffet venue
Estée. Other restaurants include Osteria Moza, Sinsa Haten, Ginger Lily and Chatterbox. All five
dining concepts in the hotel have something unique to shout about. Whether it's a Michelin-star
reputation or a finely crafted cocktail menu. Food aside, the hotel offers several facilities
to complete your stay. For one, there is a 24-hour fitness center that's outfitted with a wide range
of techno jeep equipment. The second tower will have its own gym too once renovations are completed.
On the other hand, the outer pool which open daily from 6 a.m to 7 p.m seems rather small for
such large property. Although there is something to be said for just reclining on the lounger
and enjoying a cool drink. But with so much else to do around the hotel, this shouldn't be a big
gripe for guests. We are checking out from this hotel property. What do you think? I love the
decor, I love the bed, I love the breakfast. I don't think I can hold anything. Oh, just one thing.
The noise. Some kind of machinery noise or I don't know, aircon noise. Yeah, I don't know if you
guys can hear that. It's kind of like a humming little vibration like that. And it's really
obvious during the night. But luckily we were super tired so we can sleep peacefully.
That's the only downside that I can spot. Everything else in terms of the service,
all the staffs here that we met during the buffet breakfast, during the check-in, you know,
when we pass by or anything like that, they are all very friendly. They, you know, kind of like
greet you and, you know, having the Hilton Honor Gold Membership also helps because we get a free
breakfast and also the late check-out, early check-in, you know, things like that, free wi-fi.
Some people ask us on social media how we get the Gold Membership of Hilton Honors. It is because
Peter has the Felicity Frequent Flyer Gold Member and they do status match with Hilton Honors.
That is why. Yeah, that's it guys. Hopefully you guys find this hotel review useful for your
future stay here in Singapore. The location is also very nice. It's on point.
If you love Orchard Road and you love shopping, you know, exploring Singapore, this is a perfect
location. If you like this video guys, thumbs up. Until then, stay fleece, stay hungry. Bye from Singapore!
