All cheetahs are born with spots.
With the cubs, the one thing that's unique about them is they have,
from the head all the way down to the tail tip, a very thick fur that's grayish.
It helps them to hide in their environment more.
The spots that they're born with are the spots that they will have as an adult.
Every cheetah does have its own unique set of spots,
just like humans have their fingerprints,
which makes each of them unique to themselves.
The same applies to any animal that has spots, stripes, or some other kind of pattern.
We can use the spots of a cheetah, even the tail bands on the tip of the tail,
as a way to identify individual animals.
