Hi nature lovers, in this video I'll show you my three current tanks and introduce some new fish
I've ordered. I bought new fish for all three tanks and will be placing them in their new homes.
This tank is the largest ecosystem I've built so far. In a few weeks it'll reach its first
anniversary. I don't use a filter in this tank and have never done a water change. I only top
off the evaporated water. The small water pump you see on the left is just to create a bit of
water movement. It's not a filter. Last week I made a big change in the tank. I trimmed and
rearranged the plants. I'll be adding a few more fish including a group of cardinal tetras and
rummy-nosed tetras. Later on I'll introduce angelfish as the main fish in the tank. The
terrestrial plant whose roots you see in the water is called monstera. Only its roots are in the water
and this is how it's nourished. It plays a big role in keeping the water clean. Here I have an
empty tank and I haven't decided what to do with it yet but I'll think of something to put next to
it. Just below it is a blackwater tank. There was a pair of cockatoo cichlids in it but the female
killed the male. We'll be adding a new male for her. In this tank I use a small filter and do a
10% water change once a month. And here is a natural nano-dirted tank home to ember tetras
and horned nerite snails. This tank is also completely filterless and sometimes I do a 10%
water change. The plants had overgrown leaving little swimming space for the fish so I recently
gave it a new layout. We'll be adding more fish to this tank and I'll be placing it right here.
And this is my vampire crab habitat but that's a topic for another video. Since I live in a small
town in Turkey there isn't a good pet shop around here so I get my fish from big cities and have
them shipped by bus. It's quite cold tonight. I hope the fish haven't been harmed. Unfortunately
the bus never arrives on time so I'll have to wait at the terminal for quite a while. I was going to
record the bus situation but everyone was looking at me and I felt embarrassed to film in the middle
of the night. Anyway I picked up my package and made sure it was secure before heading home.
Every time I get new fish I feel excited and happy as if it's the first time. I think it's
wonderful to still feel this way at 32. The reason I make videos like this is because none of my
friends or the people in my town are interested in this hobby so I don't have anyone to share my
excitement with. But I know that those of you watching this video share the same feelings
and that makes me feel good. All the fish I ordered are healthy. Now we're moving on to the
next step. I'm lucky to have my wife's permission to use anything useful from the kitchen for my
hobby. I'm placing the fish in separate containers group by group. Whenever I get new fish I always
do the same thing before putting them in the tanks. I take small amounts of water from the tank and
mix it with the water they came in. I repeat this process every five minutes for an hour. This way
the fish get used to the tank's water temperature and adapt to the water parameters of their new
home. When placing the fish in the tank I also make sure not to mix their old water with the
tank water. This is a method I've used for years though some people think differently. Do whatever
method feels best to you. As soon as the fish entered the tank the female immediately started
closely following him. She had killed the previous male so we'll see how this new relationship turns
out. I'm leaving them to settle in for a while. Now it's time for the nano tank. Just like other
schooling fish ember tetras feel safer as their numbers increase in the tank and their behavior
changes accordingly. As the group size grows they adapt to the tank more quickly. Now it's time for
the largest tank. I'll start with the rummy nose tetras. I had a small group before but they all
died suddenly. These fish are very delicate and often get sick as a group and die. There was
probably an issue in my tank that I didn't notice which is why they died. My favorite thing about
them is their strong schooling behavior. They usually swim together as a group. Now it's time
for the cardinal tetras. These fish are one of my favorites because they are very hardy and I
especially love them in the blackwater tank. They display their colors better in dim light and in
yellowish water. When their numbers are low they tend to be a bit shy and hide among the plants in
the back of the tank but when their numbers are high you can see them boldly swimming everywhere
in the tank. After an hour I check all the tanks. Everything looks good in the nano tank.
The new fish have adapted quickly and there are no unhealthy ones among them. They've started to
show their true colors. If there are no issues with the compatibility of the new fish I'll do
some feeding to ensure everything is fine. Any fish that doesn't respond to food may need to be
quarantined. Everything is going well in the apostagrima tank. Even though the male is new
to the tank he immediately started showing off to the female. He's trying to impress her and courting
her but he has no idea that the female has a killer instinct. Hopefully nothing bad happens to
him. I want to observe their mating stages and record each stage on video. The way these fish
raise their fry is truly worth watching. If they successfully mate and the fry grow up healthy
I might prepare a nursery in the empty tank for them. The female and male appear to be in breeding
condition and ready to mate. However since they've just met it might take some time for them to get
along and pair up. Now I'm leaving them alone and want to check on the largest ecosystem.
I did a bit of feeding but since the older fish are used to it the food was gone before the new
ones realized it had arrived. They'll get the hang of it in a few days. The new fish have started to
show color and should reach their full color by tomorrow. This tank will complete its first year
in a few weeks. I ran a poll on my Instagram page asking which fish species you'd like to see as the
main fish in this tank. The majority chose angelfish. So once I find the angelfish I want
I'll add about 10 or 12 of them to the tank. By the way if you use Instagram and would like to
follow me there you can find a link to my Instagram page in the description below the video.
I've started filming for my next three videos. I'll be recording each tank separately for 30
minutes to an hour and uploading them to the channel. You might want to watch them. I wanted
to make this video a bit different from usual. I hope you liked it. Thank you so much for
supporting my channel. See you in the next video. Peace and love.
