Hello friends welcome back to your channel simplify your space.
This video is on bathroom cleaning which is the second of our cleaning series.
In this video I will be showing you how to clean and organize your bathroom.
I follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning routine which has different cleaning tasks.
I generally clean our main bathroom everyday but if you don't have time or your bathroom
does not require daily cleaning then you may skip some steps or just clean twice a week.
But before we start if you are new to our channel please subscribe and hit the bell
button to get all the new video notifications.
So let's get started.
First thing we need is our cleaning supply kit.
I have this compact cleaning caddy where I store these supplies.
It is very easy to carry around.
If you don't have one you may use a basket or any old bucket.
I use mix of commercial and DIY cleaning solutions.
All the DIY recipes are provided in the description box of this video.
Other than these I have kept gloves, vinegar, baking soda, cleaning brush, glass wiper,
garbage bags, couple of scrub pads, few old toothbrushes and a microfiber cloth or any
old towel.
I also use this microfiber duster.
This is our bathroom post morning usage.
As we don't have a separate shower cabin water spreads all over the floor while taking
shower.
Therefore it is important for me to clean the bathroom daily.
Now let's start the daily cleaning routine.
First step is to remove all the dirty laundry and put it in the laundry basket.
Pick up the cleaning kit and tools required for the cleaning.
Start with pre-treating your toilet to break down the build up if any.
Here I am using DIY cleaner.
Spray it nicely inside, outside and on the sink.
Now close the lid and start cleaning other areas.
Now let's clean the mirror and glass divider.
Spray the solution all over.
Always use glass wiper first as it reduces the time to wipe off the solution.
Take a piece of newspaper and wipe the mirror nicely.
Now clean the glass divider or door if you have.
Using wiper first to drain all the excess water.
After that using the towel to dry the water completely.
These glasses need to be completely dried after shower as the soap and water generally
leave stains.
For the wash basin area, spray the all purpose cleaner inside and the area around.
Scrub nicely and wipe off with a damp towel.
Scrub the basin and tap also.
Wash off with water and dry the area with the help of towel.
Don't forget to wipe the tap.
Alternatively you may use these disinfectant wipes to clean this area if you don't have
much time.
These wipes clean and disinfect the area efficiently.
Now let's come back to the toilet cleaning.
I use two separate brushes for the seat and inside.
Clean the seat, scrub nicely inside and then flush.
Alternatively you may use disinfectant wipes or origami cleaning wipes to clean the seat.
Spray the water in and out and clean the brushes also right away.
To keep your toilet brush clean, take any small container or bucket and fill it up with
water.
Pour some all purpose cleaner and dettol in it.
Now you may store your brush in this always or take it out after some time.
Dry the seat with paper napkin or cleaning towel.
You may use this harpic rim block which needs to be placed on toilet rim.
Toilet gets cleaned automatically after each use.
Another option available in the market is flushmatic.
This needs to be placed in the flush tank.
These are really helpful for busy people who can't clean bathroom daily.
To clean the floor, spray some all purpose cleaner and pour water.
Now with the help of floor wiper, clean the floor and drain out all the water completely.
I also use dry mop to dry the floor fast.
But you may skip this step if your floor is already dried.
Leave the bathroom door open for some time and switch on the exhaust fan.
It helps drying up the moisture fast.
Now change the garbage bag from the dustbin.
Lastly, place fresh towels and toilet roll if required.
This was all about daily cleaning routine.
Now in weekly routine, I add up some more tasks.
Let's see what are those.
I clean bucket, mug and stool with soap and warm water once a week.
I polish all the bathroom fittings with vinegar.
It gives sparkling shine to all the taps.
I also disinfect them with the disinfectant wipes.
Garbage bin also needs to be cleaned and disinfected once a week.
I clean and scrub the floor with the scrubber and plastic broom.
Monthly cleaning is more like a deep cleaning.
Let's check out what additional steps I follow in this routine.
Once in a month, I dust the bathroom walls, exhaust fan, lights etc.
I deep clean the walls by spraying all-purpose cleaner and scrubbing nicely with a scrubber
to remove all the water and soap stains.
Then wash them with normal water.
I do clean the grout also if required.
The night before to a deep cleaning, I sprinkle some baking soda in the toilet and wash basin
and give a scrub next morning to get rid of any buildup and stains.
It also freshens up the bathroom.
Then I clean and scrub the shower and toilet jet.
Sometime the holes get jammed due to dust so they need to be scrubbed nicely to open again.
Once a month, I clean all the shower accessories in small bucket with warm water, soap and
Dettol and disinfect toothbrushes by dipping them into vinegar water mix.
Lastly I clean all the toiletries and personal hygiene items kept in the bathroom by removing
them all.
Then I clean the trolley, wipe each bottle one by one and place them back on the trolley.
Same way you can clean the bathroom cabinet if you have one.
Lot of you asked me where and how I store my cleaning supplies and tools.
So we have a separate utility area at the back of the bathroom where I store all the
cleaning essentials like here is the cleaning caddy, this is the laundry basket, at the
back of this is a small trolley where I store extra cleaning supplies.
Here is a magic mop bucket, small bucket and the toilet brush.
I have also got this very efficient wall mounted holder where I can place broom, mop, brushes,
wiper etc.
By placing this holder, you can efficiently use the wall space and prevent these tools
to get wet accidentally.
They stay intact and don't come in your way.
Removing and placing the tools is very comfortable.
I highly recommend this product to all.
Now if you don't have a separate place to store your cleaning supplies, you may opt
for one of these options.
To know how to organize and decorate your unfurnished bathroom, please watch our separate
video on this.
Find the link at the end of this video or in the description box.
Whatever product I have used in this video, I have provided their link in the description
box.
Please remember, one of the key pillars of a healthy home is an organized and clean bathroom.
It can help you to make your routines faster and stress-free.
